stumbled upon your channel and so happy i did! The both of you are great to watch explore :)
Welcome to the channel and thanks so much!
Thanks for the vid! This area will be on my korea travel list!
Definitely add to the list 👍🏼
Insadong and ikseondong! are my favorites as well even after living in Korea for 15 years! Glad that you guys enjoyed^^
2 great spots for sure and right next to each other
Nice video, viewer from Singapore ❤
Thanks! We have to come visit Singapore as well
Love that you prep meals for Nala. For feedback it would be nice if you mentioned C also for weather. I know Americans still use F , but most countries use celsius. I like how you are featuring a lot of local places not featured in tourist videos.
I’ll try my best! It’s bad at doing the math in my head and I’m still not used to the C system
Hello David and Kim,i see in the comments you guys rented a house, congats on that.what area did settle in i know you were bouncing around.hope to see more vlogs soon . Although my trip is 10 months away. I find your vlogs "the" most informative. Thanks again.
Thanks! We ended up in Yongsan. Glad you’re enjoying the vlogs and hope you have an awesome trip!
I went there and at Ikseon-dong just this May 6. It was raining. It was a very cold day. All the coffee shops were packed. It was also kinda hot and stuffy inside. I think the aircons were turned off. I only got to buy the yummy Salt Bread and some Kkul-tarae to bring to my home country for friends and relatives.
Oh no, I wish I saw the personalized stamp pads. That would have been a great souvenir. I missed it. 😢
Ah shoot bad timing. It’s been raining soo much these days. Hopefully you still had some form though. Don’t forget to freeze the tarae
@@TravelWithNala it’s all gone. Everybody ate it within a few minutes. ☺️
I love Insadong, too :) to me, it's a lot more interesting cos it does have the history and was the area for cultural arts and crafts and things like that long before tourists discovered it. so while I'm well aware that you pay a tourist tax these days, the place does have merit, and like you said and showed, there are also so many independent artists(?) here, so I don't mind it so much.
also I love garlic so that bossam place looked great! :D
Very true! It’s a popular tourist spot but it’s not a “tourist trap” like some places in Korea.
@@TravelWithNala yeah exactly! that was the phrasing I was searching for 😄
Delicious pork belly slices, brother
Bossam always hits the spot 👌🏼
The fresh Dragon thread candy melt in your mouth.
Fun to eat for sure
안녕하세요 잘보고가요😊
감사합니다! 🙏🏼
Funny, my girlfriend and I did almost the same tour there three weeks ago. Very nice area and things to buy but EVERYTHING is way over-priced.
Haha awesome! It’s prices can be high in a lot of the shops because they’re mostly small businesses but there so much fun things to do and there’s still great deals to find
Where are her glasses from? I want some they look so cute on her.
The brand is Andy Wolf. She got them somewhere in LA
I really enjoyed your video. What hotel are you staying? Which area are you staying?
We’re actually living in Seoul for an extended period. We go through several airbnbs in our early vlogs but now we rented a house and have been here for over 6 months
Another neighborhood to add to my Korea travel itinerary! Are there any alternatives to the T-Money Card? If not, can it be loaded with a credit or debit card? I heard that cash is the only option, but wanted to confirm
Yeah it’s cash only. There’s a new thing called creatrip I would look that up but I think that’s also cash only.
Hey David and Kim..what about solo travellers..or say a couple where one person is veg and thenother is non veg...do the restaurants allow solo eating? I'm specifically asking about BBQ...cz my partner won't have non veg will he be allowed to sit?
Most kkbw restaurants have a “1 person 1 menu” rule so if you have 2 ppl you need to order 2 portions of meat. A lot also have a minimum order of 2 per table so if you sit alone you still have to order 2 portions. This is mostly for kbbq places that use charcoal. Ones with gas grills usually have looser rules
According to wiki '' Dragon's beard candy was initially created in China, but soon spread in popularity in other parts of East Asia and South East Asia, becoming a regional delicacy in South Korea in the 1990s, and Singapore in the 1980s, as well as more recently in Canada, and the United States.''
Apparently It's like cotton candy as it melts in mouth but still different in other ways. Cotton candy spun sugar, but it says dragons beard has, starch =corn starch I wonder if tapioca flour could work it is starch.
Awesome! Usually I’m completely wrong with all my random facts but I got this one right 😂
How far is insa dong from myeongdong?
It’s only like a 15-20 min walk
Do you know if I can use my old Tmoney card that I used last year?
@@mainel7568 yeah you can. They have these new ones I think it’s called creacard that is a t money card but also can be used anywhere that accepts a credit card. It’s pretty cool
Thank you for a quick response! Did you guys do a hop on hop off tour in seoul?
@@mainel7568 tbh I didn't even know those existed it Seoul. tbh the subway is so convenient in Seoul that I think you would have more fun exploring on your own and spending time wandering around on foot in different neighborhoods.
26 mins in. Odd question, but how much is it customary to tip street performers? What would be too little, too much
There’s no customary amount. Most people put in coins are 1k won notes. Minimum wage in Seoul is about 9k won and a lot of people, especially elderly people, make way less than that so I’m sure any amount is appreciated.
May I ask what Kim's Asian ethnicity is?
Kim is Vietnamese
what is yours age difference? you guys looks like father and daughter
😭😭😭😭😭😭💀💀💀 3 years
@@TravelWithNala You guys definitely do not look like father and daughter. That's such an unnecessary and rude comment. Very kind of you to even entertain and answer that question. They're focusing on the wrong subject. Love your vlogs! I'll always continue to follow and watch.
@@lenahuynh6416 haha thank you thank you
