Why do we size the trunk and take off at different velocities or pressures?

    hello,
this ductwork is the supply only? Where can we plan out our return ductwork?
I'm a bit confused about the ductwork for supply and return air. Are these separate, or they are combined?

Most commercial HVAC systems do not involve return air ducting all of the way to the space, instead utilizing a common open plenum as a return path. Applications like healthcare and laboratories do involve such ductwork but only to assure that all of the returned air is exhausted and not distributed to other parts of the building. When this is the case, it is referred to as exhaust air ductwork. Exhaust air ductwork will involve most of the same components required with the supply air ductwork. Balancing dampers, fire and smoke control dampers and volume regulators are most often required.
We are not aware of any applications where the same ductwork is used for both supply and return.
We hope this addresses your question.

@@TitusHVAC Thank you so much for your reply and yes, you solved my query.
Seeing the HVAC layout, I just wondered why these return grills are just placed at the ceiling and not connected with any ductwork.
      Now, I got it.
      Thanks once again 😊😊
