- Rod Belding abandons the school trip to hang out with his latest fling.
Clips taken from Season 3, Episode 1: The Fabulous Belding Boys - Mr. Belding's brother, Rod, is substitute teaching at Bayside at the same time they're planning the class trip. Rod offers to take them whitewater rafting and Mr. Belding ends up being left out until Rod ditches the students for a date with a stewardess. Mr. Belding takes them on the trip and saves the day.

SAVED BY THE BELL (2020): When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state - including Bayside High. I've watched every episode probably 30 times or more when they used to have reruns of stuff on all the time. Maybe even more times than that,...lol.
Like problem solving without Google or trial and error.

It's a good thing that Mr. Richard Belding took the students to a class trip
He was planning a senior class trip anyway, but Rod's idea interested the students more than the one he planned; until Rod bailed due to a girl (sound familiar, Zack??) . So this was the compromise.
Mr. Belding was intimidating when he told Rod, "Get out of my school."
He fired his own brother before suspending Zack.
As much as Zack tried to get away with schemes and things over Belding, by the end, they both really cared for each other. It was great to see.
Mr. Belding really cares about those kids and he's there for them.
Yeah. And it’s a TV show

That's deep, I know it's a tv show but for Zack to say that seeing all the trouble he gets into, that still got to mean something for Belding to hear.
Looking back now, that, to me, was a backhanded compliment. Zack only said it because he received a free trip he wanted in return.

Teachers like Rod Belding exist in the real world and they’re actually a lot worse than what you see here. I had plenty of them in school. They’re basically big kids themselves who choose teaching as a career for the pay and to get more free holidays. Often times they’re ex-pupils of the school so that helps them even more. They favour and try to be friends with the “popular” kids, deliberately turn a blind eye to bullying and even join in. Wolves in sheep’s clothing. When you first meet them, you think they’re gods gift to the school but it’s only a bit later you realise what they truly represent and it can be heartbreaking for students who place blind trust in them. Made me appreciate the strict teachers even more
I got a brother thats just like Rod. I told him what his problem was you are too used to being handed to you no one ever told you no before

Is it wrong that I respect Rod Belding even more, after this video
Interestingly, on the sitcom "Malibu, CA," Edward Blatchford (Rod Belding) played the father of two teenaged twin boys, and in one episode, one of his sons idolizes his cool friend, who ends up flaking out on the boy.
What if Rod turned in the other direction when leaving Belding's office
Mr. Belding didn't want his brother to abandon the kids in their trip, it's doesn't matter if it was his brother or any of his family member gonna take the kids to the trip, along the kids come back safe
The cool teacher did something cool, Rod did nothing wrong

What's sad is the stuck up side of Lisa's character is actually who she really was stuck up and arrogant
She thought she was better then everybody and she thought she was supposed to get best guy and the best stories. That's why the cast had a hard time dealing with her and her ego .

Everybody has known somebody that let them down weve all been there most people might have mocked me because I was buddies with the Principal he took me out to eat sometimes either to congratulate me because of my report card being a little higher than the previous report card or to say he was proud when I avoided Detention or Suspension for an amount of time there was a time where we went out but I was late for my next class he was like oops I forgot to tell the Teacher u were with me I think I got a Demerit but the Principal made it go away because I had been with him and didnt think it was fair to punish me I miss that guy I grew up mostly in Fostercare and I was a special ed student alot of kids mocked me for it but some didnt I was working with the Girls BasketBall team (yes im a guy but they seemed to accept me) the special time I had with the Principal were nice a couple years before that when I was 11 my special ed Teacher took all of us kids camping and that was fun
Zack would have, and has, done the same exact thing as Rod.

One belding only lived for himself. While the other lived for others. Zack was right bayside did get the better belding. Schools across America need more bleding’s like the show saved by the bell did. now more than ever.

I think a better actor to play Mr. Belding's brother would've been William O'Leary(best known as Marty on "Home Improvement") because he looks like and even sounds like Dennis Haskins(Mr. Belding). You'd think the 2 actors were related but they're not.

I remember being so confused at the end of this episode as a 10 year old kid. I had no idea who a stewardice was but the term sounded sneaky. And I was so upset with Rod!!!!! Like a dad who lets down their kid
Belding’s brother should have been played by William O’Leary because he looks a lot like Mr. Belding and even sounds like him. I checked to see if the actors are related, they’re not. William O’Leary is best known for playing Tim’s brother Marty on “Home Improvement.”

Rod warns his son Jason of an old friend, that acted like Rod in this episode.
