SAVED BY THE BELL (2020): When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state - including Bayside High. This episode was so funny for several reasons.
1) it showed us how much of a genius Zack was, albeit a bit of a creep.
2) The fact that the girls get so upset over being seen and photographed in their bathing suits.... which would have happened if they had ever competed for the school swim team.
3) The Fact that the girls made such a fuss over being seen in their bathing suits but in other episodes perform fashion shows and dance routines wearing the same or less.
4) The funniest moment for me was Jessie and Kelly going total mental about rights and permission and Lisa moaning that they didn't get her good side.

Ironically Elizabeth Berkeley (Jessie) would guest-star in some season 3 episodes of Baywatch. A bit upset that Tiffani Thiessen didn’t guest star in Baywatch, that would’ve drawn a huge rating for Baywatch if Tiffani guest star.
One could ask why do we love the 90s Save by The bell so much when it had super corny moments in it and all, but still it's just something golden about it. The cast and everything just worked well together and was natural. I will always love it, been watching it since I was 7 years old, thinking I was their age at the time lol.
The corny moments are part of what makes the show great and fun to watch. It's great camp. None of the shows that tried to recreate Saved by the Bell came close to succeeding.. and there were quite a few from what I remember

@@podsmpsg1 I would have to rewatch to be certain but I put quotes around the statement which means it was said by a character in the show. In 1990 $5 was expensive was their point and inflation was my point.

There was an episode of SBTB: The New Class where Maria (the token Latina) was exploiting shirtless jocks to create a fundraising “Hunks of Bayside” calendar. Football player Eric (the token black guy) insisted on being in the calendar. So Maria said, “Okay, you can be February. It’s a short month.” Even though that was not a racial jab, and that she was clearly deflating his ego, I wonder if the writers made sure to not give that line to one of the white cast members. I say that because years later in the series, when the gang was thrown in jail for alcohol possession, Eric said that his parents lectured him all night. Gotta love the affirmative action on this show. We get it, NBC! You’re not racist!
