I keep finding myself watching this video once or twice a year, by accident. The stock music, the 90s graphics, the tiny stock font, the random 10 second clips of video games that do them justice, this video is an underrated gem. Someone needs to remake this with 500 games, and with games from the past decade included.
Every now and then, I go back to rewatch this list. Thinking about it now, if it had been released a year or two later, Ride to Hell would have ABSOLUTELY been on the list. I will say that I've always been irked by how several of the Action52 "games" were put into seperate spots instead of Action52 just being on one spot, but eh, the rest is the list still holds up.
Fun fact about Shadow: War of Succession. They didn't _forget_ to put in the finishing moves, they actually removed them because performing them caused the game to crash!
95: Doctor Doom? Is this his pre-MvC Career? 84: ....What just...happened? 75: Is this actually a game or just a broken alpha? 70: A Cartoon based on a video game, made as a Scrublords-tier fighter. Mmyep, that's totally acceptable... 66: Why not just shove all of Action 52 here? 54: Wait, that's an actual game?
The Make My Video series on the Sega CD isn't even a game at all, but rather video editing software for a system that doesn't need one. (3:14) There is very little interactivity, the FMVs are low-quality, and the game costs almost as much as going to a live tour.
Geographica, I'm right there with you. None of the hundred games on your list should have even existed at all. That would have saved the video game industry MILLIONS of dollars, yen, pounds, and other units of currency.
"call me Woody.. WIIIILD WOODY!" Cripes, I SO do not miss the stupid 90's obsession with video game characters with EXTREME ATTITUDE WOOOOO SEGAAAAAAA DOOOOOOOOOD@!!!!!@1
My jaw dropped at Double Dragon V mainly because I recognize the characters. That's a game based on a cartoon based on a game. Why the hell would anyone think that was a good idea?
9:14 Who's gonna dodge that? Nobody. Not the first time. You have to know: "Oh, this is gonna be a vertical 2D shooter and there's gonna be an obstacle immediately at the start of the game."
You've probably heard this before, but Pyst was actually meant to be a parody - the concept being "This is what Myst looks like after all the tourists passed through". Otherwise, I cannot complain.
You did a great job with the music, comments, etc. No comment on Wayne's World? I'd never even heard of McKenzie and Co. I love cheap FMV games, so cheesy and fun.
I was 13 when this video was initially uploaded and I must have watched it upwards of 50 separate times that year. (Though I honestly wish Action 52 was a single entry, and singling-out two specific ports within Midway Arcade Treasures 2 felt like a really weird choice)
Anime tends to hold their shots for much longer, often with the only thing animated on screen during lengthy dialogue scenes being the character's mouth opening and closing. They also break up the translated sentences to take up less screen real estate, and the words remain on screen for a tad longer. It's not impossible to read the captions here, but the point is optimizing the experience for the viewership.
1. Knowing what system they are for is appreciable. 2. Any fanbased games like that Mario Kart one, equals doesn't count. 3. Any thing relying on live action stuff isn't really a game as far as I'm concerned and just pads the list. 4. A little elaboration on some of the failings would help make things clearer.
The phrase "suck it down" appeared in a 3D shooter context Duke Nukem circa 1996 with Fat Commanders saying it over and over. Hence Daikatana released in 2000 did not coin such a phrase, they likely borrowed it.
Hmmm. I don't recall MK Game Boy being so inconsistent. I played it on both a real-life cartridge and an emulation of the game via a ROM and never had that kind of trouble. It was a kind of odd game though, since MK has two punches and two kicks (4 button) yet the game boy only has two buttons...
The game at 8:46 is from Action 52. The dude who made this video put different games from Action 52 throughout this list instead of just putting the entire Action 52 as one game.
Why was E.T. not number 1???? I gotta see what you have in store for the rest of the video -.- also a tip...it would help if you put the captions on the screen a little longer and played clips that were a little longer. I had to decide whether to read or watch some of em because by the time you did one, it was on to the next one. Interesting list though
There are two types of CoD fans: The ones that, whenever a new one is released, say the old one sucks. and the ones that do the same thing but say the newest game might be better than the last but is still worse than MW2...
Ohhhh, that ever-recognizable NAViGaTR review at 8:02.I looked it up just to satisfy my own curiosity. You know he doesn't know what he's talking about most of the time, so when he says they didn't make a "truly bad game" and just gave us "half a pizza", they actually did make a truly bad game.
Agreed; Just because it's almost the same thing with each release does not mean it's bad. In my opinion, the games are kinda fun when in the right mood, and from a technical standpoint the games are very well-made. See, if someone's going to hate on a game or game series, they should hate on it in a way that makes sense.

Same too. I've been watching this video around twice per year for almost 10 years
1:20 lol Erika looks like Tommy Wiseau
what the fuck
@@Omabatfartsbruh My thoughts exactly!
oh hecc it's pyro
It's so weird that I keep returning to these videos every couple of years
Returned once again, like a salmon swimming up river
Yeah it’s so weird, me too just now also lol
I always come back to watch this every year. It's my favorite. XD
#94.
"What if Superman 64 was underwater?"
"The game is the answer to a question nobody ever asked."
I nearly peed myself, lol.
+Carnage What if Superman 64 was in space?
Every now and then, I go back to rewatch this list. Thinking about it now, if it had been released a year or two later, Ride to Hell would have ABSOLUTELY been on the list.

Everything about this is great, even the music in between the clips.
I can't handle how hilarious the descriptions are for each of these monstrosities.
I love the cheesy 90s music between transitions.
If this was made in 2013 ride to hell: retribution would obviously be on here.
95: Doctor Doom? Is this his pre-MvC Career?

Here I am, so many years later, rejoining this video's audience... what a surreal fucking way to relive my childhood.
The Make My Video series on the Sega CD isn't even a game at all, but rather video editing software for a system that doesn't need one. (3:14)

watching these again. it always reminds me of the holidays
Geographica, I'm right there with you. None of the hundred games on your list should have even existed at all. That would have saved the video game industry MILLIONS of dollars, yen, pounds, and other units of currency.
11:16 You Testament is good if you're playing the 2D mobile version.
it's been 12 years...
I feel like an fossil
I have strange nostalgia for these 2 videos specifically.
Oh hey it’s time to watch this after so damn long
Is there actually anything on #53: Forbes Corporate Warrior? I'm mildly interested in how that would turn out.
"call me Woody.. WIIIILD WOODY!"
Cripes, I SO do not miss the stupid 90's obsession with video game characters with EXTREME ATTITUDE WOOOOO SEGAAAAAAA DOOOOOOOOOD@!!!!!@1
here for my yearly re-watch!

NEEEEERD!!!
The cheesy music clips you used are hilarious! where can i find some like them?
What's a shame is that a lot of these games have awesome names like "the war at the end of the days" and "drake of the 99 dragons"
Someone please tell me the name of the stock music used for the intro of this video.
No.88:What does Kriss do to make ends meet now?
In Pit-Fighter on PS2, Xbox & GameCube the speed of the game is twice the one of the original arcade, rendering it unplayable. (12:41)
Happy 11th anniversary to a video I have an errant fascination with, for some reason.
5:39 HEY CLOWNFACE
4:12-4:26 Someone tell me what the fuck I'm watching here....
You should make a “Worst Games of 2017” list. I loved your “Worst of 2013” Countdown. You should do that again this year. It would be awesome
The commentary for the Hercules C64 bit was hilarious.
"You'll bash your...fu-"
Keep all 52 Action 52 games to one number. Half the games that come after the A52 games are playable compared to it.
This video needs an update to include the utter shite that has polluted the Steam Store courtesy of Greenlight/Steam Direct.
when i heard that i had to leave my computer laughing with tears in my eyes.
To be honest, I forgive Silver Dollar... or I'd be more willing to if they made more awesome games like One Finger Death Punch.
WOW. When I saw Charlies Angels was only number 78 I thought 'What evil lies ahead that can possibly be worse?!' Then I saw E.T.
And here I'm thinking: "Jeez, if Daikatana's the BEST of these, what the HELL'S the other 99?"
Ahh good times, before things like Diablo Immortal and The Quiet Man were things
you know, tattoo assassins was canceled, as far as i can tell. shouldnt this list only include games that were commercially released?
"What were they thinking?!"
-AVGN
You've probably heard this before, but Pyst was actually meant to be a parody - the concept being "This is what Myst looks like after all the tourists passed through".
Otherwise, I cannot complain.
No Luca No is the best game ever
time for my yearly view of this.
You did a great job with the music, comments, etc. No comment on Wayne's World?
I'd never even heard of McKenzie and Co. I love cheap FMV games, so cheesy and fun.
Yeah, Revolution X in the arcade was a blast to play and the cheese provided by Aerosmith starring in the game made it all the more fun.
I actually like MK mythologies. Yeah the mechanic was stupid, but the story line was great.
@ComedyCityFilms Yes, but it seems to default to mute, so you have to manually turn it up. How helpful! ^^
4:12 clearly this game was developed by michael bay.
...in co-op with quentin tarantino.
I guess people were PYST at number 92
I was 13 when this video was initially uploaded and I must have watched it upwards of 50 separate times that year.
(Though I honestly wish Action 52 was a single entry, and singling-out two specific ports within Midway Arcade Treasures 2 felt like a really weird choice)
Isnt Manchester (#68) an Action 52 Game? Well...
Why dont you put ALL Action 52 Games in here?
i love how most of the games were fighting games

OMG!When I was a kid,I remember playing Elf bowling, and I also think I played MK mythologies:Sub-zero.But not sure about that one...Nice vid lol
Video should be longer, some subtitles are to fast... And yeah I would like to see more of the games' crappiness.
Appart from that, good work!
this video is so nostalgic
XD catfight " pow pow OW pow ooh" XD
@Geographica PLEASE PUT A SEIZURE WARNING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TITLE 3:13
Crap. Guess I should have watched the second part. Sonic 06 IS on here.
You can either watch this video or you can read this video. The choice is yours.
5:45
I'll send in Jimmy, because he's my dog and I need him to pick up the grouts that we've been shooting in the forest.
Daikatana is a fun game. It was judged badly
I love how a just couple of seconds of footage is enough to show how much each and every one of these games sucks. LOL
What's the name of the music in 6:45 for Hooters Roadtrip ?
I SAID NO, LUCA
LOL. I'm watching a 100 worst videogames ever video, and then "achievement belongs to everyone" comes up as the ad...
#100 'suck it down', wasn't that a phrase from those flying monsters from Duke Nukem 3D?
Hmmm. I don't recall MK Game Boy being so inconsistent. I played it on both a real-life cartridge and an emulation of the game via a ROM and never had that kind of trouble. It was a kind of odd game though, since MK has two punches and two kicks (4 button) yet the game boy only has two buttons...
Why did you use seperate entries from Action 52 and Midway's Arcade Treasures?
I really want that music that plays for FX Fighter, what is it?
Try pumpkin world I've never played it but I've seen a vid. And it looks terrible
8:46 Why does it remind me of Action 52? XD
9:14 But THIS is the LEGENDARY ACTION 52
The game at 8:46 is from Action 52. The dude who made this video put different games from Action 52 throughout this list instead of just putting the entire Action 52 as one game.
So when you think of playing games, you think of pushing cats away from cereal?
what's the song of the 0:00 - 0:06 ?
. took me for ever to find find this again
I love the stock music haha.
Just started to watch this video. Thank you for not making me hear somebody's cramped voice. Text will be always better than sound.
Drake was a real disappointment.
"Pow!"
"BLEEEH!"
What's the song from 0:00 to 0:05?
I'm back here yet again, lol
I don't agree with you on you testament.

2:02 you can't spell assassin without sin! And twice the ass
Cool video I am looking forward to part 2
the real achievement here is finding 99 games WORSE than daikatana
Finally found this epic video again!! Still makes me laugh!
Please don't tell me I was the only one who thought:If this is number [insert number here],I don't want to see number 1
At 67 what is that music?
Agreed; Just because it's almost the same thing with each release does not mean it's bad. What is the music from it sounds so familiar...
I remembered playing Elf Bowling (I do not know if it was 1 or 2) on my grandad's old computer.
