Sammi Blair Don't feel bad about it, what you're really doing is to gradually tell your subconscious to help you change your ways and it's building motivation because of the thought "if they could do it so can I". Just make it your intention that you're going to make it, write down your goals, and just go ahead and make one small change at s time, like taking the stairs rather than the elevator, choosing a lower fat food over a regular one, eating fruit for dessert instead of cake, etc. There was a website that had lots of suggestions for small positive changes, I'm sure there's more now. Try that and you'll feel good for doing SOMETHING. ☺

    3) Read labels (3:58)
    4) Be patient with your weight loss (4:36).

My brother got married yesterday and I went to the wedding but I felt ashamed of myself and really wanted to get up and dance and take photos but my legs where so swollen and hurt I felt so defeated 😕 I want to change and lose weight but I feel like it’s to late and don’t know how to begin my journey. I’m going to walk in the evening for however long I can to start out because I’m so big and visually disabled it makes things difficult but I’m gonna try and push through the obstacles and see if walking drinking water and eat mostly vegetables and fruit I’ll be able to loose a significant amount of weight by my birthday.

    !!!!PLEASE READ!!!!
And Dont forget the master tip: when your weight is higher your body burns fat faster (using more calories) when your lighter your body burns less calories meaning longer sessions in the gym or reduce calorie intake. This is what causes a plateau when loosing weight and not adjusting your diet to compensate.

andyrh525 not normal at all, im 6 foot 200 and Im very chubby, and I have a very bulky big frame, someone with a small frame would look extremely obese if they were 6 foot 200,160-185 is normal for 6 foot

    • @SpaceViking2000
      @SpaceViking2000 9 років тому

andyrh525 It depends on the build. I have a 6'3" friend who went from 300 to 200 pounds and he doesn't have noticeable loose skin unless he stretches it. I think, asides from his height, he may have really thick bones and be builds mass on his thighs more then the rest of his body so it all worked out for him in the end

Like i feel im a regular girl yeah, I can't run as fast and i can't do all the things they do but i feel ok. I know its bad for my health and thats why im doing it but i feel really confident and when I look in the mirror i see a chubby girl and i don't like it. I feel way different.

I am almost overly aware JasonI was . being a jerk, Sadly my uncle who was like a dad to me , my real dad's brother, passed a few months prior to my older son's birth due to cyirosis, i believe thats correct spelling). It was very difficult and i still suffer from this this circumstance daily and always will. Aside from my maternal grandma just about every other family member has battled with deamons ranging from alcohol to heroin. I too have an addictive personality 'and although i admit to drinking nearly daily, to some degree, even just a beer or mixed drink for many years I have taken steps to overcome my personal issues that lead to to seek comfort in substances. ThanksvJason keeping a good thought for you. Di xo

I'm new to your Vlog and I love it! As someone who lost over 200lbs (went from 480lbs to 250lbs) in 18 months with very unhealthy habits, bulimia and anorexia, I regained almost all of the weight that I lost over the the two years after. I'm now working on doing it again, with healthier choices, healthier food, more workouts and just living healthier! It's SO hard, but people like you make the determination so much stronger. I watched just one video of yours and it helped me find the CLICK that I needed to start again and know that I can do it and do it right this time! Thank you for being an inspiration and continuing to provide tips (like this video) that reach out to people who feel helpless and want to give up!
One question I had: How did you deal with Gym shaming? I've noticed a lot that super attractive and buff guys at the gym can tend to look at me or other obese people with judgment in there eyes. People who haven't really dealt with a need to lose an extreme amount of weight. It can be intimidating to be around them on the machines. To the point where I don't feel comfortable working out around them, or end I up going to the gym at 5am when nobody else is really there. Any tips for overcoming the feeling of shame or discouragement when working out around gym pros?

Great video...to help with my adveenture, that's how I refer to my journey, I printed 2 large pictures of me shirtless and posted one on my kitchen cabinet and one on the inside of the front door. They serve as reminders to make good food choices. I also send an email to my friends and my family telling them what I was about to do and asked for their support. I asked them not to try and get me to eat what they were eating and not to criticize what I was eating (we are big eaters in my family). All of the "come on, a little won't hurt you" stopped and my adventure continues and I have made great progress. Keep up the great work O2B!

    @SQUIZZLER24 9 років тому +3

Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for being a great source of inspiration for me today and I'm sure into the future.
To share my story a bit... 3 years ago, I went on an expedition to Borneo for 3 months. I was walking maybe 3, 4 miles to a work site every day, doing a labourious day mixing cement by hand, lugging things around and just generally working damn fucking hard. On trek, we were walking upwards of 10 miles a day with 100lbs of kit on our backs. Combine this with 100°F and 90+% humidity all day every day and you got yourself a hell of a weight-loss programme right there. By the time I came back, I had dropped down from maybe 250lb to 205lb. An all-time low for me and I was happier in my own body. Then I went to University. 3 years of eating pretty much nothing but large pizzas, sometimes for all 3 meals a day, months on end... Yeah. I just left Uni in July. And here we are today.
Now, I'm not a naturally small guy. At my lowest weight, I still had a waist size of 36", a chest size of around 46" I stand at 6 foot 1. As of the 1st of October, I was 280lbs. About a month ago, I had what you described in the video above. An epiphany. I sat down and thought. I found myself depressed about my body. Hating myself and where I was in life. Directionless. Hopeless. Relationship-less. So I kicked myself and vowed to make a change. As of today, I have dropped 10lbs just by eating better, eating less and exercising more, but I understand that this is the start of a long, long journey. 70 more to go, yet!
You sharing your stories, your similar realisation, your transformation and especially the great tips like in the video above really hit home and picked me up today, inspiring me to make my own success story and become a better me. It makes me feel not so alone along this road and really puts what I have to achieve in proportion. If you could do it, anyone can! So thanks, dude. You ARE a fucking beast.

I used to work out a lot. 6 days a week, I had a nice 3 day rotation that made sure I wasn't stressing the same muscle groups too much without a 2 day break for the groups, and I was losing mad weight. Like when I was 17, I was in the best shape of my life, and I loved myself. I was pretty bulky, however a lot of it was the fat I never shed off. When I asked some friends I made at the gym the best techniques for losing weight, I got so many contradicting answers and complicated solutions that it all became too much for me. I stopped going to the gym, and I haven't been there in about 9 months. Since then, I've been on the go a lot, hardly any time at home between school and work, and I've gotten into fast food a lot. Now I'm 200 lbs, and at 5'8" that isn't good at all. I feel like I've lost. Getting back to where I've been is going to take so much time and so much work and I don't think I'm strong enough. I don't know the first thing about cooking or shopping, I'm afraid to go back to my gym and be judged by the people I haven't seen in awhile. I don't even know why I'm typing all this. I guess so that I can tell someone, I don't know. I don't know if I can turn my life around, or if I have the ability to. All this time this has been wearing on my mind, and I feel so useless and shitty. If anyone can help me out, or if you've been in my shoes before and got out of it, please let me know. I need all the help I can get.

Good LUCK.... if you decide on something you can do it, and if you remember/motivate yourself as much as possible. I recommend going back to the gymnasium gym... I never went to a local gym........ i want to start going there

      RyandBurtson Hey :),
I can completely & utterly relate to you Ryan. my story is similar to yours. I went through a really healthy/fit period of my life and i loved it. Everything really seemed like it was coming together! . But looking back, i've realized that I focused on it WAY to much The copious amounts of health information and my own increasingly high desires/expectations are what ultimately stunted/halted my health/fitness. With this added pressure i upped the anti and began pushing myself even harder. This led to my knee injury. THe knee injury/pressure kicked me to the curb. I lost motivation and slowly gained weight. I knew though that i wanted that health/fitness back in my life. It had become a big part of who i was. It's taken so much time but i'm getting there again finally :). The thing is life is challenging. Chasing your dreams is challenging. But whatever requires hardwork is generally WORTH IT. YOU CAN do this. YOU CAN increase your health/fitness levels again and feel like a boss. Begin to think more positively about this. It all begins in YOUR mind. Control YOUR thoughts and YOU can control your outcomes. Start visualizing what you want. How did you achieve it last time? what was your life like then? how can you change your life atm to aid you in reaching the lifestyle you want? Start visualizing, planning and implementing. KEEP IT SIMPLE. There's no one way to achieve great health/fitness. Health/fitness/weight loss is pretty simple: Exercise/Nutrition/Support/Rest.
      Some helpful quotes:
"Listen closely: the only time it's too late to change yourself is when you're dead."
“The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” ~William Faulkner
"You've done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination."Hope this helps!!! Good luck with your journey Ryan!YOU CAN DO IT!!
      Xx

RyandBurtson Hope you are doing okay, and gotten back at it, and maybe found some good support to help you. Same thing over here. Lost 80 lbs a couple of years ago, and then just stopped. Gained 60 back, and had to basically start over. It took about a year to gain the courage to really begin again. I wish I hadn't waited so long, but I started Jan 1st, 2015, and I've lost 45 pounds. I'm about 15-20 away from where I was, and I'm excited about that, but I try to just think of it as a new journey. Again, I hope you are doing well.

    • @frazzle657
      @frazzle657 9 років тому

RyandBurtson Go to the gym, and try to keep a schedule or work out at home. (if you can afford the gym I find I feel more inclined to workout with a monthly membership.) People will judge you more for not going, plus if they judge you for getting a bit big and then trying to fix it, who cares what they think? Also if you don't enjoy working out it can be extremely difficult and maybe not even worth the result for some I would imagine, make sure you are enjoying it (don't spend too much time, try to get a gym buddy as well). I am logging my progress with pictures at the moment to show me that I am changing, although they haven't really helped, but the compliments you will receive from other people make it worth it.
      All the best buddy

One of the things that pisses my of about drinks is the serving sizes. If the suggested serving size for a coke is 250ml then put it in a 250ml can and not a 330ml one. Do they think people are going to come back later for the final 80 when its flat and warm?

I'm a 75 year old guy - been working out on and off all my life. 5'8, weight up to 263. I understand principles of nutrition, but depression and loneliness would get me to finish off a carton of ice cream and a box of Oreos in two days. Now I've decided to eat clean, and work out or do cardio 6 days a week. After 10 days I'm down 8 pounds.
I want to lose only about a pound a week because that is the kind of weight loss that lasts, plus at my age there will be loose skin when I reach my goal of 205 pounds in a year. Am deeply grateful for these videos because they show that loose skin is nothing to be ashamed or embarassed about.

You and Crystal Breeze's channel have inspired me so much to change my life. I've been going on multiple diets all my life but I have always let something get in the way of losing weight and its not until recently that Ive realize I owe it to myself. Im a 22 year old woman who has always found sucess in other parts of my life. Im in the honors program at my university. I am well respected at my job.I married the love of my life a year ago and ultimately I know that Im a great person. Ive always considered myself an intelligent, compassionate, sweet, and beautiful person on the inside. I am ready for my outside to reflect it. My goal is to lose 150 pounds and Im already on the right path. Ive created a healthy meal plan for myself and Ive already gone and purged unhealthy items from my home. I know that I can do this. Thank you for your videos....I hope to one day be able to share my success story with you!

All great advice. Too many people never realize dieting don’t work. Lifestyle changes are what lead to being lean and healthy: many people are on a weight loss journey but don’t count and track calories. For me the act of counting calories is what changed my life. It’s now a habit. As soon as counting calories becomes a part of who you are, you’ll succeed

To be fair my issue has been under eating, and not in the sense I looked like I did. Every time I ate food my body thought that it would be starving later so it committed it all to fat. My tip would be to use a tdee calculator to work out your macros and calories, but also at the gym, don’t concentrate on cardio, muscle burns more calories so focus on building that. There are several ways to do weight training like supersets, drop sets, pyramid sets, megasets and heavy (different for everyone) compound lifts (squat, bench, deadlift, barbell row...). These variations get your heart rate in a fat burning zone without cardio and build muscle at the same time so you will progressively burn more fat when doing it. Another benefit of weights training is that it has a 36 hour afterburn effect, this means you will be burning fat for this period of time after, usually while your body repairs. I know this sorta turned into why weight’s are better than cardio but yanno... 😁

I've yo yo'd a bit because it is frustrating if you used to be very athletic and respect immediate results. I fell off a few times. Now I weigh 255 and just going to keep going. Be patient and stick with it . My goal is back to 220 lbs. Wish me luck!

I do all of these, but one. It's the third tip. I'm losing weight, but I'm always comparing myself to someone who is super hot- like a model or something. I know it's not good, but I can't help it. Really good advice. The time thing is always so good. One week I lost 8 pounds and I was still angry about not losing enough. It all takes time.

I like your videos brother. Good stuff. I'm 54. An Ex Marine. I actually have been through this weight loss thing before, 20 years ago. After I lost weight back then, I was lifting weights, running, walking many miles a day, etc. Then I got injured several times at work, and through some bizzare accidents. My back from neck to tail bone has several painful bulging disc's. I listened to the doctors, and quit working out with weights, but took the wrong turn with no exercise. at all, and I got depressed, and didn't change my pre injury diet either I fell back into old habits, and got bigger than before. The Back issue has gotten so bad it is affecting my job, and my BP was sky high, and that is why I made my decision this time. I just kept ignoring the obvious, and realized I didn't want to be an obese crippled up old man. I want to be active and enjoy life until I die. To do it, I had to change. I can't cling to the old way anymore. I have to be a new man in nutrition and exercise, and in spirit. I don't starve, I eat!!! But I eat good things only. I am going to follow you, and pick your videos for advice. I hope everyone is blessed with success that they need.

For me in my big weight loss 310lbs to 180 was all about calories in vs. calories out. I ate 2,200 a day and ate 3 meals 2 snacks and chose foods that i enjoy eating. Breakfast was usually oatmeal, Greek yogurt plain, fruit and iced coffee. Lunch was usually a sandwhich and salad. Burrito bowl with mixed beans, guac, low fat cheese and fajita veggies or a 6Inch subway with a side salad. Dinner was just about anything i wanted as long as it followed the plate model of 1/4 starch, 1/4 protein and 1/2 veggies/salad. Snacks were anything i wanted as long as the total for all snacks in a day was 400 calories. I am not a soda drinker so avoiding pop was easy. my vice that i had to cut back on was fried foods and pastries. .I still enjoy the odd pastry from time to time but thats it.

Dude i so glad I found your channel. I'm 18 years old and a year ago i used to be a lean mean wrestler my junior year of high school. I lost alot of weight but after wrestling my senior year I got a bad knee injury and I gained all the weight back in 6 months plus 15 pounds extra. I was gonna try that water fasting because I was so despite to lose weight but after watching your video about the dangers of water fasting it really made me open my eyes and start thinking clearly. Im gonna start a low carb high protein diet with lots of physical activity and zero sweets. You've really helped me see that weight loss isnt an over night process. It takes time, dedication, and motivation to succeeded and I plan on getting my old wrestling physic back.

My starting weight 2 weeks ago was 482 and I'm a truck driver. I ate junk at truck stops and had we'll over 3 liters of soda a day. I was scrolling through UA-cam on a usual binge of useless videos when I stumbled onto your channel. I have since changed a lot of what I do and have lost a total of 19 lbs since. I was completely shocked when I stepped on the scales today. This may not be helpful for all but actually writing down everything you eat helped me out a ton. thanks Obese to Beast for the motivation to start out and hopefully keep in a good direction.

I loved this part 'don't let the person you are today stop you from being the person you want to be' because when you expect to lose 8lb in a week and it doesn't happen or even 1lb then it gets hard! For this last two months I haven't lost one single pound but I've lost 15inches in the time, down a dress size and feeling so much fitter and healthier through diet and exercise - so I think for the next two months I'll avoid the scales and just go for my clothes fitting better and smaller clothes at that, as well as feeling properly nourished with a much cleaner lifestyle!
You know every single one of your vlogs really hits home and I can't stop watching the, over and over, thank you for this!x

"Don't let the future you (that you want to be) mess up the present you." That was some hard won wisdom, I'm sure. I psych myself out with "future me" all the time, and it's not even about weight or workouts. Thanks for sharing that.

This stuff really worked for me. I was amazed at how well it works to suppress my appetite. I eat less, and it has also helped me to drop weight a lot faster. I take Weight Loss Idealiss in addition to my slow motion strength training, and it has helped me to notice results a lot quicker than when I was only working out. I'm very pleased with this product.

it's really hard trying to diet when I am still in high school trying to balance grades with an everyday job that works me late and stresses me out. since I've started this job I've put on 25 pounds from stress eating and only one meal a day at 12 am when I get home (because everyone knows school food is an abomination) what I need is a job that will allow me to stay moving, and lifting. like a retail store stocker or something. the problem with that is that in my crappy state (wv) you've got to be 18 to work anywhere other than fast food. Jan 25 marks my sixth month at Arby's and it's time for me to change my life.

I’ve don’t my weight loss journey, and got too comfortable so now I’m trying to get back into it! The biggest problem I didn’t do before was count my calories and to make sure I was eating 3 meals a day. I had the mindset of skipping a meal was a whole lot healthier than eating. But I’m back and I plan to do it right this time! Loved your video!!

OK guys I want to share my weight loss story, and hopefully John see's it too.
2 years ago I was out to lunch with family. We were having a great time, eating, drinking and generally being merry. Barely anyone in my family are big, we're a naturally a slim family. However, on this day, we took a family photo and when I saw it I realised that I was the biggest one out of all of them. I looked huge, and as soon as I got home I stepped on the scale and saw that I was 245lbs, or 111kgs. That was enough for me to change, and the next day so I did. I examined my diet; I absolutely love crisps (chips for you non-british folks) and can eat them endlessly if they're around. I was eating ALOT of takeout because I was working long hours and too lazy to cook. I drank a lot of alcohol, especially beer, and I was also extremely inactive aside from my job, spending my days off work doing nothing in terms of exercise.
So I cut all the bad stuff out. No alcohol, no crisps, no takeouts. I started eating low-sugar cereals for breakfast with skimmed milk. Or I'd have a smoothie. I'd snack on wholegrain bread bites with some cottage cheese (I limited myself to 2 snacks per day) and I'd have things like fish or chicken with veggies and brown rice for lunch/dinner and plenty of salads, fruits and vegetables. I cut out white bread, rice and pasta and switched to the brown variety. After a few weeks of doing this I noticed that people were beginning to say I've lost weight and I was thrilled, which motivated me further, and inspired me to get over my fear of the gym and sign up. When I increased my activity level that's when the weight loss REALLY kicked in further. I bought myself a bike and ditched the bus, so I was biking to and from work 4 days a week which equaled 4 hours of physical activity from this alone. And on my days off, I'd go to the gym for 2 hours (might seem a long time to start, but because of long work hours, I couldn't go to the gym on work days). The weight literally DROPPED off me. Everyone was shocked at how much weight I was losing, which was around 14lbs a month, and it felt amazing. I could go and buy clothes every month because the one's I'd purchased previously were getting too big for me. Eventually my weight loss plateaued and for a week or two I hadn't lost a single pound. My friend recommended I tried giving a low carb diet a try, but initially I wasn't interested because I don't believe in cutting out whole food groups, I enjoyed brown bread, rice and pasta in moderation so why should I give it up. But disheartened by the lack of weight loss, I looked online about low carb and was mesmerised by the promise of rapid weight loss, "better and healthier than regular weight loss." So i decided to give it a try, and in one week, I lost 5lbs. I was amazed so I decided to be low carb from this point. I did continue to lose weight, but I found myself miserable. I enjoy carbs... I can actually forgo the white variety of rice, pasta and bread... I genuinely prefer the wholegrain/wheat variety. Being low carb basically limited my meals to meat and vegetables. or eggs and high fat foods like avocados (which I hate) with only 1 piece of fruit per day. That's too limiting for me.
Eventually I spoke to someone at the gym who mentioned he had lost over 70lbs in a year which motivated him to become a nutritionist. I asked him how he lost his weight and wanted some advice. Do you know what he said? He said to me that all he did was "eat less, move more." Bad advise to some, but generally, it's the biological rule for weight loss. Nothing more, nothing less. I mentioned about being miserable being on a low carb diet and he said to stop it. Low carb diets are a fad. They promise rapid weight loss, which really DOES happen at first, but it's nothing but water weight. After the initial water weight is gone, weight loss happens at a rate exactly like calorie controlled diets do. Yes, low carb can suppress appetite, but so can eating plenty of protein or wholegrain like oats or quinoa. Drinking plenty of water can suppress appetite also. Yes carbs are converted into sugar, but carbs are in virtually every food, they are impossible to avoid. You NEED carbs!
I mentioned about how when i did switch to low carb that i lost 5lbs really quick. He mentioned that this had nothing to do with being "low carb" but the simple fact I had cut carbs out from my diet and therefore had reduced my calorie intake further. Your body adapts to your calorie intake, so it's important to regulate days where you eat more calories than normal, and on somedays you eat less to keep your metabolism in check.
ALL in ALL guys, all you need to do is eat clean. Plenty of fruit, vegetables, lean meat, fish, wholegrain, beans, lentils, water. Also exercise, because the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. If you're not hungry, don't eat. I also recommend not snacking, because three meals a day should be more than enough. Also give intermittent fasting a try... the body was meant to go for long periods of time without food. And remember, it's all about calories in and calories out. Figure out your basal metabolic rate, this is the calories your body burns at rest. If you eat less than that... WEIGHT LOSS. And remember guys, please treat yourself. That's not to say have cheat days... god no! CHEAT MEALS are FINE. Just watch your portion size. I ate one cheat meal a week and it did not hinder my weight loss in any-way shape or form. And here I am, 60lbs lighter!

I'm 4 months into my weight loss. I've currently lost 50 pounds. 268 to 218. I still have 70+ more to loose until I'm healthy sized. My tips are stay busy and active, it helped channel my constant desire of food into productiveness and activity. Also, don't drink your calories, drink water, milk is my only exception and that's maybe once a week. And, if you happen to go over your calorie limit by accident, just accept it and think of the next day as a reset button. You're going to have bad days, especially when you suffer from severe addiction to food, don't kill your diet because of one day. Finally, be patient, it took 2 months before I started noticing a change in my body, and that was after 25 pounds gone.

I watched this today after weighing in for the first time since I started working out and eating right. Since April 16th 2018 to now I'm down 10 LBS. I'm feeling good about that because I can physically feel that I've gotten stronger. I can feel the muscles now where as before I'll I felt was fatigued and swore. Ty for the video. I thought I'd understand the three tips you gaves on my own and then I saw my first 10 LBS come off. The first thought I felt when I saw the number was, "That's it?!" I'm trying really hard to feel good about feeling good and the weight coming off is just a bonus. I know I'll get there but it's a long road so I'm hoping I'll make friends along the way. I know it's an older video but the message is still being received. Ty for everything you're doing.

+Bass Master Hello friend I was reading your comment and would like to help you out. I myself am 16 and went vegan about 2 months ago and I'm in the best shape of my life and the progress keeps coming in. In your case start by drinking only water and eating lots of eggs and white meat along with vegetables brown rice sweet potatoes and fruits. its all about the chemicals that's in the foods making people sick and unhealthy look into eating organic also there's tons of varieties out there like chips ice cream all the foods people never want to give up and actually don't have to. I was very lazy and had no self motivation before I changed my lifestyle and made excuses instead of just getting up and doing it and now its my daily routine to workout eat healthy and take care of my body I took action and it became a lifestyle. I hope this helps you in someway and best of luck to you on your journey.

ObesetoBeast First time I am used Garcinia Cambogia. I want to lose weight using Garcinia Cambogia. I really wanted this product to work, it had a lot of positive reviews. Unfortunately these did nothing for me. I've been taking this for 3 weeks as directed, but I haven't seen any results. I didn't have a significant increase in energy, moodImprovement or even much appetite suppression. I never expected this to be a miracle pill. so I decided to do a quick search for a quality product instead of looking for cheap product. Then I stumbled upon the product called 3 Week Diet. I was skeptical at first but after reading all the positive reviews, I knew that it was the one I am looking for. I'm on my third week and lost so far around 18 lbs. It’s awesome. I like to recommend the product who are looking for positive result to lose their weight. Here you get product review and details po.st/zj7D5Y
