Nice place , would have to have money to live there , never be able to make a living. Would like to have seen more of the cattle to live upto title of the video
Yes. Wikipedia says : In 2017 The BBC documentary series Britain’s Ancient Capital: Secrets of Orkney briefly visited Swona. Chris Packham Counted 20 cows and calves and 3 bulls. They are considered their own breed. I see some of my cattle in the white with black ears, nose and eyes. Check my channel for cattle for sale
surprised to see domestic rabbits; there must be a few land predators or raptors to keep their numbers down, or the cattle wouldn't have any grass left.
all four of my grandparents homesteaded in Canada in an area of real cold. Now add wind and darkness. It would get old real quick if you had choices to go elsewhere. Long dark winters, probably winter winds, tough people back then.
I would like to know more. I raise British White Cattle and see some relatives in the herd. In 2017 The BBC documentary series Britain’s Ancient Capital: Secrets of Orkney briefly visited Swona. Lovely! It would have been nice to include info about this island, as very few UA-cam viewers would know where on earth it is or anything about it.
Thanks for sharing. I'm writing a book and Swona Island is in part of it. Now I know NOT to include any big boulders in the landscape!
Or feral cattle.
did you ever write your book?
R.I.P.
