    Hi there
    I graduated with a Bcom Strategic management
    I've now been given the opportunity to enter the world of NDT through a company that maintains offshore assets
    The technical manager of the company is a family friend and he suggests I go get my painting and blasting certificate in order to gain experience offshore and then come back and get my liquid penetrant and magnetic particle L2 certificates. It is a lot of money to loan to do the courses and would just like to know whether this is a safe way forward in terms of initial earnings to pay off the loans. Also I will be doing this at heights from ropes with my IRATA L1 which I think slightly increases the pay if I'm not mistaken. Also it's been suggested I follow the PCN BINDT scheme and not ASNT

      Good job on deciding to take your destiny in your own hand. Yes companies typically have means to track it. But it always helps for you to track your own hours and get them signed by your supervisor on job regularly so that you don't lose them when you leave the company.

      Your title depends on the company. The requirements are not clear but typically an NDT Engineer needs to be a Level III or take some tests/courses to prove as NDT Engineer. As of now you shouldn't expect any different treatment than an assistant NDT technician without an Engineering degree. Your value increases 3-4 years later when you have experience +Level 2 +Engineer.

    Why do NDT technicians make less money than welders ?

    • @NDTVideoLibrary
      @NDTVideoLibrary  Рік тому

      That's not true. NDT techs can easily make more money than welders. But another factor to consider is their pay might be higher in some cases as they are sacrificing their eyesight in the long term.

    I have wanted to enter a company in an overseas country.
    so now I'm living in Australia.
    my English speaking is poor yet. but I can write an English sentence well.
    I hope to get a job through this youtube channel.
    I've built up my career with the study and the work in Korea.
    I have a license for MT, PT, UT, and RT.
    * craftsman UT and RT
    * industrial engineer PT, MT and RT
    kind of Korea licenses are categorized into craftsman (level 1), industrial engineer (level 2) and engineer (level 3).
    even though I have a license acquired in Korea, I think that my  NDI knowledge and (experience/know-how) can help companies hired me.
    I was working on various kinds of NDI companies like Seoul Engineering, Air-force as mechanical Seargent, Asiana-airline, S-GUARD (direct sub-contractor of Samsung-Engineering in Korea).
    if you know about the vacancy of NDT section, please tell me about that.
    thank you have a nice day~!

      Not really. T is more practical and field work related, E is more lab and research related.
