As a porteño and an expert in German immigration in the southern cone of S America and a German descendent myself, I can tell you that nowhere in Argentina except in some tiny areas near Parana, Cordoba and in the capital city itself, you find hundreds and hundreds of towns and villages overwhelmingly German as in the Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Parana and Espirito Santo where you see German looking people by the thousands, who have kept the dialects spoken in their original regions in the 19th century before leaving to Brazil, dialects such as Hünsrucker, Schwabisch, Plattdeutsch, Pomerisch, etc which have practically disappeared in modern Germany. They have preserved their traditions intact as they remained isolated during their first hundred years in valleys and mountainous regions connected by poor roads. It is only now that a great deal of mixing has started to happen, but ecen today these Brazilian states have huge compact clusters of Germans living in hundreds of homogenous villages, nowhere to be seen in Argentina. And listen, I do know Argentina from Tierra del Fuego up to Jujuy and Misiones very well. You see nothing like in southern Brazil, nada de nada.

Idea: rather than going back in time to kill Hitler, go back in time and change the treaty of Versailles. (Stopping the first world war would be better, but I think it would be less feasible.)

Ich stelle mir vor, wenn Deutschland seine Kollonien behalten hätte, wie gut es diesen Menschen jetzt dort gehen würde. Nur ein Traum natürlich, ich weiß unsere Vorfahren haben die Einheimischen nicht gerade mit Samthandschuhen behandelt. In meiner Vorstellung hätten wir die Afrikaner nicht diskriminiert und ausgebeutet, sondern gemeinsam diese Länder( deutsche Kolonien) aufgebaut, afrikanische Traditionen, Religionen usw. dort beibehalten und alle hätten ein schönes Leben. Dann würden auch keine Flüchtlingsströme entstehen, denn es gibt keinen Grund seine Heimat zu verlassen.
Beiles dich mal über "Kaiserreicht" es ist eine Alternative Geschichte was währe wenn Deutschland denn 1.WK gewonnen hätte.
Das wäre ein Segen für ganz Afrika gewesen und somit für die ganze Welt.

I remember reading that In Tanganyika, between 1914 and 1918, the Germans under Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck successfully held out against the British and that the majority of his soldiers were black. This makes Germans less racist than is believed today to the chagrin of the 68 generation. Keep your work up.

Askari wurden schlechter bezahlt als deutsche Soldaten. Sie wurden möglichst nicht in ihrer Heimatregion eingesetzt. Der auch innerhalb der afrikanischen Bevölkerung existierende Rassismus wurde gezielt bei der Struktur der Schutztruppen berücksichtigt.
Auch nichtdeutsche Kolonialmächte hatten übrigens Askari in ihren Truppen.
Hinter der Idee des Kolonialismus steckt IMMER auch eine rassistische Komponente. Sie können da relativieren wie Sie wollen, aus Nächstenliebe wurde noch nie eine Kolonie gegründet.

Idea: rather than going back in time to kill Hitler, go back in time and change the treaty of Versailles. (Stopping the first world war would be better, but I think it would be less feasible.)
