      May want to consider ISF or IS350 front using the 350phi.com brackets. Less fitting work parts needed to fit.

      Yea. That’s my experience, I’m not sure if it’s my old MC or the calipers. It feels mushy on initial press but grabs and locks up easy when braking hard.

    • @RallyRanchMotorsport
      @RallyRanchMotorsport 2 роки тому +1

      @@TunerwithKids iv read a few reviews and I think the reason for the lack of feel at the beginning of the stroke is because of the extra caliper volume. Your MC is probably still in good condition, how ever I believe the fix for it is a larger MC.

      yah guys, so what happens is when you keep getting bigger n bigger brakes from stock is that you throw off the original factory torque bias what we call brake bias-- so as we add more pistons, more pad, larger rotors and so on we add more swept area that's being used to brake with, this adds tremendous braking power to the front end of the car compared to the rear. Therefore its super easy to lockup the fronts with little effort, which is almost as bad as locking up the rear which will send the vehicle into a nice tailspin, you'll be first to the scene of the accident (not funny). Locking up the fronts, umm well l'm not too familiar so l don't know if ABS will help at all.
      Let's look at what we're doint here: taking HUGE brakes from a pretty large SUV, Cayenne, Touareg etc (about 5000pound, 2.5ton) vehicle then adding those same brakes to a pretty light by comparison lS300 or similar-- yah, looks kool but kinda iffy on performance-- the braking system is overkill for the vehicle we're using.
      Brakes bring the vehicle to rest or slow it down by turning forward momentum into heat via friction. Using larger brakes is for indeed larger vehicles or racing applications where repeated braking from 200 to 60 over a two to 24 hour race where larger brakes are indeed used to contain then dissipate about 1000 to 2000c (where brake rotors are glowing red) temperatures. ln an everyday driver from work, grocery store, home etc. six piston calipers are like Shaquille Oneal on glass backboards back in the day. Competition calipers are formed of aluminum compared to some form of cast steel to dissipate heat and in racing/formula 1 etc. carbon discs are used for superior capacity to heat and indeed very light weight to reduce unsprung weight/mass.
      FUN FACT:
      observe cars with those HUGE
      34inch rims and itty bitty tiny
      stock brakes and calipers-- the
      extra large wheels act like a very
      long lever against a very small
      tiny nut-- cook those brakes like
      in no time flat !! not only the
      leverage of the wheel size vs. a
      relatively small rotor but also
      the weight. Here we're only
      using the opposite idea: using
      a Massive caliper/rotor setup
      inside a midsize sedan.....
      lMO the first upgrade, maybe the second to Gs.FSport calipers was decent but to 6 piston Brembos will upset the brake balance, that's my opinion only, not anything l've actually experienced myself.

    I watched this brake upgrade series from the day you picked up the calipers from the junkyard and holy sh*t your attention to detail is insane! For all the work you’ve done, do you think it was worth it? I’m kinda iffy on the amount of shaving you had to do up front just to make everything fit. I’m debating on just doing the LS400 calipers up front and 17z rears.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  2 роки тому +2

      Not worth it. If you want huge brakes just do 350phi.com brackets and ISF. You can get brand new ISF calipers for $300/ea new. If you want bigger better brakes, use same brackets and IS350 fronts. Don’t waste time on LS400, old tech, hard to find or maintain and barely an upgrade.

    bro, with brembo, you're supposed to bleed from the inside first and work your way to the outside

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  2 роки тому

      Conflicting info on that. Cause you want to bleed furthest out from MC, the outside pistons would be further than inside pistons, logic suggests that.

    • @de77thecomputer
      @de77thecomputer Рік тому

      correct ! on multi piston calipers always bleed from outside pistons then inside towards the Mc; likewise bleed air from the brake system every 2 years-- start from the longest farthest line, passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front then driver front 27jul2023.dellthecomputer
