    Hello 👋 I have a question do I have to accumulate the money for rent when Im still in my country to make payments for the rent ? Or it’s covered by the stipend lets say if you are a PhD student? What advice would you give?

    • @UnikJane
      @UnikJane  Місяць тому

      @@rachelkayz You typically have to pay your first month’s rent before you resume because you won’t be paid stipend until after one month in the US as a grad student.

    I’m having issues with accommodation because they are asking for a guarantor and I don’t have any. It’s either this or I pay 3months upfront and that’s ridiculous.

    • @UnikJane
      @UnikJane  3 роки тому +3

      Talk to your admission coordinator or whoever you are in contact with and ask if you can use them as your guarantor.

    Hi Jane please help me.. in the "who will sponsor your trip" section, (ds160) I selected "self" because I thought they were asking about the flight expenses. But I just realized they were asking about tuition and accomodation. What can I do now?

      If you have enough time, you can cancel the first ds 160 and fill new one. But if you dont have time, you leave it like that.
      On your F1 form who is sponsoring you?

    Hi Unik, this was super informative. For the application, we were asked for our ID(Passports), i-20, and admit letters from the university, along with the security deposit/broker fee. I wanted to make sure it was all legit as I cannot find much information on the internet about that. We went through a real estate company to find this house. Thank you!

    • @UnikJane
      @UnikJane  2 роки тому

      I think you should first connect with a student in the school to help you check out the house. There are a lot if scammers out there
