- A quick demo of playing Nations solo, my goal is simply to provide a taste of what the game offers to those who may be interested.
I find this to be a very satisfying solo experience, even though it is such a simple solo variant system. It suits this game (almost) perfectly and has me coming back for more, again and again. Enjoy!

Like a lot this game..meaty, strategic interesting theme and easy and fast to setup, which is always a plus on solo..a little gem!!
Whoops...I’ve been playing 3 rounds per age instead of 2. Lol. Oh well.
It seems a good solo mode! But the game seems hard to find in Canada.
Great video. Juat bought the game second hand and in these covid-19 times solo is the wat to play.
I was also clearing out all of the cards when moving onto a new age. It looks as though you still keep the previous age cards that get moved down from row 3 to row 1.
6:30 No. The Event is only resolved in the Resolution phase and you aren't in that phase.
7:43 No. OR you can deploy. You can only do 1 of the 3 options in Action Phase, that's why they are labeled ABC and not 123.
8:00 buying the Progress card means option A and therefore not B nor C
10:00 so you bought a Progress card. That ends your Action phase.
11:00 NO YOU DON'T. Deploy workers is action phase option B. Action phase has already ended.
11:31 NOO You can only deploy 1 worker. Check the rulebook p17 B, will you? You must wait a turn before placing a second. And you bought a progress card.
12:43 you already bought a card and cannot place a second one in this phase.
14:18 AI Turn is done?? In the solo variant it's not a turn, but an effect of your (illegally) placing a worker on a military. Certainly not the AI's turn - AI has no turns in any strict sense.
16:50 you're effectively skipping 4 Resolution phases by now.
You're not playing Nations at all.

You’ve got your solo and multiplayer rules mixed up. You don’t roll the AI dice after deploying a worker on a building. He played it right.

Looks like a great game but man I don't like solo of beat your own score it is boring to me, there isn't another way to solo this game? 🤦
Not that I've looked for, might be worth checking into though!
@@boardgamerants yeah enough with the beat your own score solo varients give us something more juicey... i'm not playing pacman i'm playing a real physical board game haha
