I had the original target version of TM ares it's best to get the collector edition when on sale. In the original you don't get the trays and engrained player boards. So if you bump the table your resource track moves easily. I have played this and felt it was too easy to beat once the strategy is figured out. Good to see your back. Once a gamer always a gamer. Whether via digital or cardboard.
I remember feeling jipped with the whole Dinosaur Island solo debacle. Lot of miscues there that many took issue with. Still, was a cool game, looks like Dinosaur World they didn't even mess with the solo thing...
@@boardgamerants I almost bought the retail edition but I realized it did not include a solo mode. I found the KS edition (which includes a solo mode) at my local shop and then I jumped on board. The devs could’ve done a much better job of being clear with which version included the solo mode.
Good to see you are back! Have you tried rise of IX? Just received BG+expansion this WE and played 3 games (last on with IX). This one is really addictive). Take care
Great to see another video from yourself, hope all is well. Are you going in for the Ares Expedition expansion on KS at the moment? I haven't touched this yet, I'm still convinced I won't like it as much as Terraforming Mars, even though I've sold it on! I'll try it one day... I've been playing a lot of What a Wonderful Kingdom, the smaller remake of Wonderful World, which I haven't played. Its very quick, comes with a number of modules and offers a few decent meaningful decisions. Also played my first full game of Nemesis Lockdown, had a blast! Got very lucky and came close to winning! Happy gaming!
No on the expansions, Ares Expedition is good but not a "great" for me. If I end up keeping it, might take a closer look at the expansions when they come out. Super jealous about Lockdown. I'll be picking that up for sure when my FLGS gets it, they know to save me a copy.

Ark Nova looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for showing it off. It takes up a lot of table space just like Dinosaur World.

I have, only a couple times though. First impressions are good!
