Or you could simply throw a drywall patch over it followed up with a thin coat of compound, let it dry and sand and feather it in and repeat with another thin coat of compound if necessary. Literally takes less than 10 seconds lol.
I like your technique better.
Drywall patches don't work well large holes. A California patch does work on large holes and is much faster, stronger, and less work than this video.
@@truantray yeah there are a lot of quicker and better ways to do it. I was just trying to make a point.
He way over complicated this, and used flimsy material. A string will rip right through styrofoam.

у меня не совсем такая проблема. Надо заделать дырки в стенке печи в труднодоступном месте. Хотел по другому, но попробую по вашему методу, но не полностью.👍

This was a process sorry. Try a Small 1" Board behind the hole to screw in patch, a lot more solid, small layer joint compound to cover seams & 4 sheetrock screws. 5 minutes tops.
It didn't shock me at all... don't know about others...
