Sorry about the volume earlier this morning! I thought it would be a great way to start your Monday to give some of you ear damage when clicking on the video! Should be all fixed now, sorry again folks! UPDATE: This is Kurts fault. He played the piano too loud when we were jamming out in the booth recording music for this video.
Crazy how different Booker's pricing is in other states. Here in Dallas, TX, Booker's runs a hair over $100 at Total Wine and Spec's. I've made it my goal to collect all the releases for 2023, as I didn't have any luck finding a single bottle in 2022. Charlie's batch sold out within a few days in the DFW area, thus I had to resort to buying it at an independently owned store for $120. Apprentice batch sat on shelves for many many weeks (wonder if the local bourbon connoisseurs took all the negative reviews to heart). Mighty Fine batch is moving faster than Apprentice but not as scarce as Charlie's batch it seems. Wonder how The Storyteller batch will be received once it drops late this year. Great video as always! Can't wait to crack my 2023-3 batch later this month for Thanksgiving.

I got the last one at one of my local spots. It's definitely one of my favorite pours. Sometimes the crazy proof throws me off, but this batch is still so smooth and nutty. I'd be in the market for another if I came across it.
I loved the sweet potato segway. My mother used to make sweet potatoes for our contribution to Thanksgiving. It was never anything special, then one year my cousin, a professional chef, made them and blew my mother's out of the water. From that time forward he made sweet potatoes and my mother made a cheesecake for dessert. One time he made a cheesecake. Yeah, one time. Never had Booker's before, but I do like Baker's a lot. I haven't had any bourbons over 110 proof yet.
Recently opened my first Bookers "Bardstown Batch" and I agree, it's one of my favorites. The only other batch I've had that competes with it is Pinkies Batch (2022-04)
Nice, I picked this one up last week and I really like it. I’m only a year into my journey and I’ve picked up 9 different ones and chapter 7 and I don’t dislike any of them. I’m fortunate to get them for 72-75.00 bucks out the door:) my favorites so far are Country Ham, Kentucky Tea, Charlie’s, Pinky’s, and this one. Cheers
Commenting before you guys taste it. Just picked this up, first Bookers, yesterday. Getting some vanilla caramel nose along with some peanut butter. Then peanut shell aftertaste. But overall very enjoyable, at least for me.
Yes to Kurt sporting a beard for the month, no to marshmallows on any kind of casserole or sweet potatoes. Marshmallows belong on smores or in hot chocolate. Would like to try this batch. I had a taste of the Apprentice a few weeks ago and thought it was lame compared to some of the other batches I have tried.
I can't believe I actually had and tried a bottle of something before you guys did a video on it!!! I agree with Kurt. If you're looking to add a Bookers to your collection, I highly recommend this one. It really is a good pour!!
Mighty Fine was the first Booker's I've picked up since the Bluegill Creek batch in 2016 or 17...it was $55 in Ohio then and I thought pushed it's value. I grabbed this one on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. For me it was strong flavors from the vanilla, brown sugar and caramel family of flavors - and peanut butter but Reese's or sweet peanut butter at least. This was $100 in Ohio and as much as I like it I probably won't buy the next batch due to cost. If it were priced more in line with some of the other seasonal releases...Elijah Craig BP, Larceny BP ( both $70 ) I'd probably get each one.
Do a Bookers Blind of the best 4 batches you guys love. Due to pricing I can only afford to just buy one from the lineup. Thanks and keep the great content coming!
Might have to try and snag this if it's under 100 bucks in my area. I liked the apprentice batch alright. That dark plum nuttiness was a nice time but if this is stronger on the nuget and baking spices I'll definitely have to grab one ❤️🔥
Hey Kirk and Trent the new Bookers 2024-03 master distillers batch is a banger I think you would enjoy it. It’s coming in at 130.3 proof and drinks well under proof to me. Good viscosity and rich dark profile it is an outlier batch and would love to see a review because nobody is talking about it. Have a great day!
I like the "find the good in a bottle" line that Trent spoke. Many reviews hated on EC B521...I thought it was very good. To each their own. Looking forward to trying some of this.
I have Charlie's Batch, skipped Apprentice, and just recently picked up Mighty Fine Batch after hearing good things about it. $90 is what it runs here, which is getting close to my discomfort zone, but I'm a fan of the flavors.
Wow $90…I just saw two of this exact batch in a large wholesaler/retailer liquor store in SC…$119.80 cash price. I passed. This was actually $10 less than what I saw if for in a much smaller “hole in the wall” store a few weeks back. I passed at that price.
I popped this about a month ago and simply did not care for it. Went back to it last week and low and behold….very nice. Think this one needs to open up a bit to get it just right.
I just picked up a bottle but mine is 2023-4 “The Storyteller Batch”. I have this one as well so glad to know. Totally agree Apprentice was a let down.
I picked up in Virginia (allocated) for $90 a few weeks ago and just opened this weekend. Neck pour was decent, but not amazing. Felt this could be a $60-$80 bottle. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C293 at $85 blows this away.
interesting question posed here: would I give up my beard to have hair on the top again...and I might just have gotten a lot more comfortable with being half-bald.
Have you had batch 2017-04 "sip awhile"? If you have what did you think of it? It's the only Booker's I've tried so far and I'm curious if it's a good one or a bad one in your opinion. I feel like it's a decent bourbon once you get past the burn lol.
Every Bookers I have had drank under proof. Something about higher end bottles that have high proof seem more mild than to me than lower proof cheap stuff (that I like too). Perhaps the more interesting flavors just come more forward to me than the proof itself.
Maybe a completely silly question on comment, but, I’m knew to bourbon, I am really struggling with picking out the flavor notes, I’ve noticed you both actually tip your heads back and your glass and essentially pour the bourbon in, small amounts I know, whereas I tend to hold the glass glass and sip, or rather suck the bourbon in, if that makes any sense. Just wondering if by the way I’m sipping it, could have some negative affect or if you just drink it the way you guys do, just because. Hopefully I made some sense of what I’m trying to say, or ask rather. Enjoying the content!
I think an interesting show would be comparing lower proof bourbons to their higher proof counterparts with water added. Like wild Turkey 101 vs Rare Breed proofed down to 101. Or Elijah Craig barrel proof watered down to 94 proof vs Elijah Craig small batch.
Don't know if I'm a Bookers fan or not, never dropped $100+ on one 😅. How does it compare to Larceny or Elijah Craig Barrel proofs or Knob Creek Single Barrel or Jack Daniel's Barrel Proofs?
They are definitely good! The fancy box helps justify the price somewhat. But the juice itself holds up well and I have no trouble saying is worth at least $80.
I must picked this up today for $103. It is fantastic and, IMO, worth the price, of course I would rather pay $90 but I am still very happy with this. Definitely want to see the beards.
I used to be a tequila guy, but I cut my teeth on Bookers over 20 years ago and now prefer bourbon.... It was $60 back then and much better than recent batches.... I'm ready to give this one a try.
Thank goodness
I appreciate trying to keep it fresh. Sometimes you win and then there is the earlier music overlay. 😅
I love ear damage on a Monday morning
You missed your chance of blaming Kurt on editing this video. lol
It was rather offputting 😂
Crazy how different Booker's pricing is in other states. Here in Dallas, TX, Booker's runs a hair over $100 at Total Wine and Spec's. I've made it my goal to collect all the releases for 2023, as I didn't have any luck finding a single bottle in 2022.

They’re out of control in Canada. The Bookers Little Book C4 is $185 here, small batch is $135

I don't care for sweet potatoes, but sweet potato pie is right good.
Recently opened my first Bookers "Bardstown Batch" and I agree, it's one of my favorites. The only other batch I've had that competes with it is Pinkies Batch (2022-04)
Pinkies batch is so good. My favorite of all time. I have about 1/4 of it left, haven’t been drinking it cause I don’t wanna run out, lol.
I’ve got it and it’s definitely a good pour. I needed a bookers to add to my collection and I’m happy it’s this one
Nice, I picked this one up last week and I really like it. I’m only a year into my journey and I’ve picked up 9 different ones and chapter 7 and I don’t dislike any of them. Damn, $72 including tax? Dirt cheap.
@@deankruse4491 store owner friend:)
This is the first bookers I've ever owned and I really like it. I have had a pour of the "lumber yard" batch and it was the best I've ever tasted.
Commenting before you guys taste it. Just picked this up, first Bookers, yesterday. Getting some vanilla caramel nose along with some peanut butter. Then peanut shell aftertaste. But overall very enjoyable, at least for me.

You haven't mentioned the Kentucky Tea batch, which is one of the best Bookers from last year. I do feel they get better once opened.
Agreed. To date my favs are Bardstown, Kentucky Tea, and Charlie's. Need to crack Mighty Fine. Cheers
Great review. We have a bottle that hasn't been opened yet. I do the no shave November as well. Mostly gray, but what the heck. Enjoy.
Sounds a lot better! Thanks for remixing it and posting again. Appreciate it!
I can't believe I actually had and tried a bottle of something before you guys did a video on it!!!
I agree with Kurt. If you're looking to add a Bookers to your collection, I highly recommend this one. It really is a good pour!!
Scored this very same about a month ago. Never had it so had to try. Very pleased. With a big cube it’s good drink. Thanks fellas!!
Thanks for the video refresh, reading CC is slightly annoying. 🤣Just got my 23--03 and can't wait to crack it! Cheers!
I’m a fairly new bourbon drinker. I always find myself buying a bookers. I got all of them for the year just looking for 2023-04
Mighty Fine was the first Booker's I've picked up since the Bluegill Creek batch in 2016 or 17...it was $55 in Ohio then and I thought pushed it's value. I really enjoyed this batch. To the point I got a second bottle to keep for a later pour.
Do a Bookers Blind of the best 4 batches you guys love. Due to pricing I can only afford to just buy one from the lineup. Thanks and keep the great content coming!
I definitely dig this batch! I was getting craisins and peanut brittle on the palate for me, the thanksgiving description was spot on!
This was the first Booker's I've ever bought and tried. I really liked it. It reminded me of a KC18 but at higher proof.
Was thinking the same!
Santa beard on Kurt for the holidays sounds like a Capital idea!!
I look forward to trying this, the Kentucky Tea Batch 2022-03 has been one of my favorite in a while....
Perfect Fall sipping Booker's, many great fall flavors in this batch.
Issue I have is that Bookers has an export batch which apparently may, or may not be, the same as the one released in the US.
I passed at our liquor store in South Central Minnesota at $110. I tried it at a bar in the twin cities and think it's a $80 bottle at best.
I just picked one up this morning! Excited to try this. The apprentice is actually my favorite batch
Might have to try and snag this if it's under 100 bucks in my area. I liked the apprentice batch alright. That dark plum nuttiness was a nice time but if this is stronger on the nuget and baking spices I'll definitely have to grab one ❤️🔥

I just picked up this bottle last night! It’s my first Bookers!!
Just purchased a bottle last week. Haven’t opened yet. I’m glad I’m here for the review
I have Charlie's Batch, skipped Apprentice, and just recently picked up Mighty Fine Batch after hearing good things about it. $90 is what it runs here, which is getting close to my discomfort zone, but I'm a fan of the flavors.
My family get-togethers, we always had the marshmallows on top of the sweet potato casserole 😋 Thanks for the review and for the memories. Cheers 🥃
Just picked up this bottle at Sams Club here in Florida for $89 as well, have not tried it yet.
Wow $90…I just saw two of this exact batch in a large wholesaler/retailer liquor store in SC…$119.80 cash price. I passed. This was actually $10 less than what I saw if for in a much smaller “hole in the wall” store a few weeks back. I passed at that price.
I paid $115 at the distillery
I've seen this one pop up here and there around me, but am still trying to get lucky and grab one!
Marshmallow just appearing anywhere is a win for me, including on sweet potatoes or as a notable hint in bourbon
I picked this one up Saturday at my local fairway, I haven't opened it yet.
Appreciate the review. I have slowly started into Bookers and lot forward to giving this one a try
I popped this about a month ago and simply did not care for it. Went back to it last week and low and behold….very nice. Think this one needs to open up a bit to get it just right.
I wish it was 90 in my area. Usually is 110-130, depending on the store
I just picked up a bottle but mine is 2023-4 “The Storyteller Batch”. I have this one as well so glad to know. Totally agree Apprentice was a let down.
Thanks for the quick fix!
Wow. No music. Lol. Thanks for reuploading. Couldn’t really tell how you liked it.
Thanks for mentioning about the proof, that was really helpful as I personally don’t enjoy stuff that drinks that hot
I picked up in Virginia (allocated) for $90 a few weeks ago and just opened this weekend. Neck pour was decent, but not amazing. Felt this could be a $60-$80 bottle. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C293 at $85 blows this away.
That SLB logo always makes me think of the Texas Longhorns. 🐂 Hook 'em Horns! 🤠
I'm all about the Bookers and Kurt growing a beard!
I just picked up the new Storyteller batch- I love this stuff
interesting question posed here: would I give up my beard to have hair on the top again...and I might just have gotten a lot more comfortable with being half-bald.

I passed on one. Store had it priced at $154. Couldn’t do it.
Yes to Kurt’s facial hair. Will be on the lookout for this Booker’s
Yes Yes Yes!!!! Who DOESN’T want to see Kurt in a Santa beard!!???
Of I could find one @ $90 I would jump on it, but in western Colorado I see them on the shelves for $120-$150, and I just can't do it.
Every Bookers I have had drank under proof. Something about higher end bottles that have high proof seem more mild than to me than lower proof cheap stuff (that I like too). Perhaps the more interesting flavors just come more forward to me than the proof itself.
$90 is not a small sum. However it’s seems to me for limited annual releases it’s no longer high but more in the normal range.
Good video as always, you gus rock! Also YES to the BEARD!!!!
I actually enjoy the apprentice batch....you should try it again
Maybe a completely silly question on comment, but, I’m knew to bourbon, I am really struggling with picking out the flavor notes, I’ve noticed you both actually tip your heads back and your glass and essentially pour the bourbon in, small amounts I know, whereas I tend to hold the glass glass and sip, or rather suck the bourbon in, if that makes any sense. Hopefully I made some sense of what I’m trying to say, or ask rather. Enjoying the content!
Should have proofread first, I meant to say, I hold the glass flat, not glass glass
As long as it gets in your mouth I don't think it should matter
I think an interesting show would be comparing lower proof bourbons to their higher proof counterparts with water added. Like wild Turkey 101 vs Rare Breed proofed down to 101. Or Elijah Craig barrel proof watered down to 94 proof vs Elijah Craig small batch.
Thanks for saving me money. My local Total wine has this for $106 before tax. I’m not buying at that price.
Santa Claus Kurt is everything that the SLB fam has been waiting on.
For $89.99 it better pour itself and remember my name in the morning. 😁
But the juice itself holds up well and I have no trouble saying is worth at least $80.
the tea batch was really good
I must picked this up today for $103. It is fantastic and, IMO, worth the price, of course I would rather pay $90 but I am still very happy with this. Definitely want to see the beards.
Definitely one we will try in the future
I’ve put this batch up against Charlie’s batch twice now, and I feel like Charlie’s batch is far superior. Praying this one opens up
It’s “Mighty Fine!”
Have you guys done a Booker's blind before? That would be interesting.
No sound but I can almost hear you guys. 😂😂😂
Trenton and Kurton always keepin it real
They have this down the street from me for MSRP might give it a chance after this
Kurt needs the Santa Beard. !!!
Quote of the day..."This is ALL nuts!" Trenton or "there's no escaping the nuts. Also Trenton.
How does Booker’s compare to Knobb Creek?
Mighty fine was excellent, Reese's chocolate covered peanut butter pretzel. You guys need to try the storyteller, top 5 barrel proof bourbon ever!
I think it should be a beard contest. Beards for both Kurt and Trenton!
Wouldn't a lower proof Bookers be a Bakers? I do think a Bookers blind of 2023 would be fun.
shiney barrel batch , pigskin batch , and tagalong batch are good !
Yes to the beard!!
Yes, I totally agree. Kurt should grow a Santa Claus beard. Even better a straight up ZZ Top beard
Yeah, I can wait on Kurt’s head shave to see it live hahaha
Surprised you said it drinks to it's proof, I said it drinks nowhere near the 126 proof maybe closer to a 100-105 at most
Let us see that beard! Great show! Cheers!
got one Friday at Sams for 65$
Be sure to get the recent Little Book. Best one yet.
Love Bookers❤
It’s $120 retail msrp for the 2024 by me.
Storytellers 2023-4 is outstanding
I used to be a tequila guy, but I cut my teeth on Bookers over 20 years ago and now prefer bourbon.... It was $60 back then and much better than recent batches.... I'm ready to give this one a try.
Booker’s has been putting out some good to bangers of bottles over the last two years. Haven’t cracked this one yet
Trenton left on his own with his extensive selection ends up with bookers in the couch!😂
No shave November…don’t shave December…just leave it January…etc
Yes to a beard for Kurt!!!!
