It is a war crime everywhere. It is what the Nazis did in WW II. The German army ruined Germany;s name, in WW I by doing that in Belgium. They took and murdered civilian hostages to retaliate against the French and other resistance activity. Nazis who did that were hanged after the war.
Neither Russia or Ukraine should take hostages. They both have an obligation to evacuate them from the fighting and it is likely that the other side will call that taking hostages for propaganda reasons. It does not seem like either side is committing a lot of crimes against civilians since the military casualties are way higher than the civilian ones. In most modern wars, civilian casualties are way higher.

Well. That's what Ukraine wants. Push Putin for "extraordinary measures", total mobilization which will lead to economic crisis in Russia and social troubles. For now Russia has been to able to recruit only on voluntary base, keep the economy and the public's opinion well. Ukraine war has always been about pushing Russia into a total war to create troubles and social unrest. Ukraine's victory has never been on the table for NATO. What the West wants is Putin to be removed. And Putin knows it.

I am getting annoyed with " mappers" like Dima ,weeb union and others.
What Ukraine Forces have accomplished is essentially 'raids' into Russia. Saying things like "captured land" or a certain village "will fall "No, capturing land means you secure it and build defenses not hide in open step lands.
How will an entire Ukraine brigade be resupplied under Air attacks, it needs Air cover and how will it stand against up to 500,000 Russian soldiers in the region?
Why has Kiev evacuated 30 border line villages
How will this end? obviously it will end like the other adventures within days being the complete destruction of Ukraine Forces and Russia start establishing a new 'Buffer Zone' in the Sumy Region
Ukraine has sealed its fate and demonstrated it has no interest in peace, it is all talk and Russia will have complete support by the Global majority and every right to respond in anyway it wants.

Suja was not taken. There are too few forces to capture territories, this is a 1/3 adventure already with Ms. Farion. Budanov's adventure, as well as the Krynki landing in the Crimea. They no longer have the strength to fight for Donbass, which is why they commit suicide. For Bulanov's boys, 500,000 soldiers are needed, not 1,000

  • @stlouisix1
    @stlouisix1 2 місяці тому +10

Meanwhile, Ukraine is busy committing military suicide with its PR attack into Russian territory near Kursk. The attacking force lacked air cover and the power to sustain the attack. The Ukrainian troops were savaged by Russian air strikes, artillery and drones. Some have opined that this was a feint or a diversion, i.e., focus Russian attention in the north and then strike at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Maybe, but Ukraine lost significant resources in terms of men and equipment that cannot be easily replaced.
Let’s assume, for the sake of argument, that Ukraine managed to reach Kursk. Okay. How do they resupply their troops and sustain the momentum of the attack. Russia has a wealth of resources - manpower, combat air, artillery and drones - to bog the Ukrainians down and chew them up. Those who believe that this would force Russia to seek a negotiated end to the war are the same delusional clowns who promised that Ukrainian troops would be sloshing around on the beaches of Crimea last summer.
This attack is likely to have the opposite effect - Russia will accelerate its offensive against Ukraine and will not negotiate until Ukraine begs for mercy. - Sonar21

No mines and stongholds on the border? No recon that sees a huge concetration of troops and amored vehicles nearby?
      No fast reaction force?
"Buffer" zone: An absolutely "laughable" offensive operation. Where is the "stong newly created russian army group in the north"?
Still no clue how to save own soldiers and equipment but never talk about own losses. And where is the massive industrial russian output in tanks, afv's, aircraft, and so on? Still no real option on how to deal with drones on brigade level and no real big offensive with concentrated ground forces and russian air force working together. And all this after 2 1/2 years of special military operation... .
Western politicians have been fooling western european people from the beginning in telling Russia won't stop after Ukraine. That was clear to me from the beginning as I trust Putin more in foreign politics than western polititicans.
But what wasn't clear back then: That russian military couldn't invade other european countries because their military doctrine and equipment is so weak or misused in many ways. It is possible that Russia wanted to draw the enemy out of their defences so that they could be destroyed easily. These forces can easily be destroyed while they rush forward outside of artillery and air cover. It’s a tactic as old as the mongol horde. Russia used this tactic against the Germans in ww2 and Napoleon. How many men and armoured vehicles have the Ukrainians lost in this movement? Ultimately the success of the offensive will all depend on whether Ukraine can continue to move forward and consolidate their gains, failure will be getting destroyed or bogged down holding a non strategic point and stretching their already stretched manpower on a another front. We will see what happens in the next week.

Although the amount of territory Ukraine has been able to penetrate, doesn't mean they occupy and hold the territory. You need a lot of troops to hold that much land, and a huge amount of support and supplies. Something Ukraine doesn't have. Yes recon elements are penetrating deep, but once Russia is able to assemble a large number of forces, it will be able to reclaim their territory quickly. They have better support and resupply channels, as well as air superiority. Seems Russia has lost a lot of territory, but withdrawing until you can better secure your lines is a tactical strategy. Now they're bringing insignificant forces to overwhelm Ukraine.

The UAF were (again) able to launch a surprise attack - pretty unforgivable if you take into account Russian ISR and human intelligence capabilities against Ukraine - but this ultimately works against Ukraine. The UAF does not have the logistics and manpower to backup any significant breakthrough. The more extended, the bigger the problem. The more time, the bigger the problem. The Russians may lose territory, but Russia is big and once the surprise is over, the response will be another meat grinder. That said, for the moment this is a huge propaganda victory for Ukraine at a time they need victories to show their western proxy controllers they are still worth the investment. More time is more money. Also undermining Russian public confidence and support for the war may force Russia to be more open to negotiations. Even if the UAF may fail to reach any operational breakthrough, this is another example of Russian military complacency that will be paid in more lives and destruction.

Certainly a much needed propaganda success for Kiev for both domestic, western and maybe even Russian public consumption. Thank you, Dima!!! I don't intend to criticize or point the finger at anyone, but it's time to understand that haste can distort everything you say in your own video. I think it's good advice when I tell you not to rush. Those conclusions about the attack with Iskander are wrong and that only for one reason: the rush to move on to the next idea. There are many situations when a single unanalyzed detail can tip the balance in the wrong direction. Why am I saying this? Because, if we watch that video complete, not fast forward, we will clearly see the result, which is different from the conclusions stated here. After the cluster munition explosions, some small details are clearly visible, which show a completely different conclusion. First of all, the red smoke , from a signal rocket fired by the Ukcros it appeared, which means signaling "help", "evacuation". Then, after some time, it is noticed that only one armored vehicle has left the area, two others are on fire and most importantly, no movement of Ukrainian soldiers can be seen. So, for an outsider, this clearly means that the Ukrainians are no longer in that area. And I don't think I'm wrong when I say that. There would be other small observations to make, but as we all know, no one is perfect .. I can also be wrong when I conclude something.

tactically speaking, Sudzha seemed like a good target for Ukraine to take an area of Russian territory. The best option for Ukraine there is to hold what they have, try to fortify behind a river line and halt Russian counterattacks. Even a few brigades of Ukrainians could stay there for months if they dig in, we can see that in other places. The position however doesn't do anything to reverse Russian momentum in the war, or give Ukraine any leverage to negotiate (in fact the Russians will be even more hostile due to this). It appears to be pointless.

Its less captured and more like there are just soldiers in the area. No one expected them to be stupid enough to attack so it was poorly manned area. • @SirAlric82

Because there were barely any russian troops in the area to stop them, mostly border guards and conscripts. It's not hard to advance when there's no one to stop you. Russian forces in the east on the other hand have to overcome strong resistance from the ukrainians in order to move past trenches and fortified positions that's why their advance is slower.

Really, I gotta hand it to the Ukrainians. Let's be frank--the Russians got overconfident, concentrating on offense and left the border pretty lightly defended, Ukrainians made a gutsy move and caught them with their pants down. Unfortunately for Ukraine, the difference between Russia and Ukraine at this point of the war is, Russia has plenty of reserves it's never touched, whereas Ukraine had to strip forces from elsewhere on the front to pull this off. So now Russia brings in those reserves and contains the situation, probably pushes Ukraine back . . . but back where Ukraine made it easier for Russia to push, Russia's just going to keep on pushing.
When you're overmatched, pulling off a cool move just is not going to make much difference to the overall war.

While Russia needs at least 6 months to occupy an area of 100 sq kms using all those various weapons, Ukraine, with its smaller army and using less military technique, occupies a territory twice as large within a span of less than six days.
