I love the look of this Mash, the either in white or black. I do find it strange that mosf Chinese 125s are so low geared. I have a Zontes 125 which I raised from 15 to17 teeth on the gearbox sprocket and it made the bike so much nicer to ride and the engine coped easiily with the change. A good upgrade for under a tenner...
done the same with my mash british seven and the difference is night and day. added a front sprocket with one more tooth but im thinking about going even higher, idk how the engine is gonna handle that though. im just gonna try it i guess
Larger rear Sprocket so effectively shortening the gears? I have the same issue with the Bullit Spirit, it needs shorter gearing to get the most out of 4th and 5th gear
Great to see you back virtually to normal Mark. Great review as always. Love those gold wheels although the bike itself is not my type really. Still a great informative review as always. Cheers
Hi Your review of the Zontes G1 Scrambler was influential in my getting one. Also had the Honda CB125R. Both great bikes, but the Zontes was superior in every way and cost less. That said, resale is crap as people don’t realise just how good some Chinese bikes are.
back again... i do love the look of these.... the 650 will be too much for me to be honest.... if only they made this with a watercooled 400 lump i truly thing id have one...love the style
Great review cheers. I prefer the black as I have seen the white in a local dealership in my town. But by 2038 it is all going electric so I am not sure what to do
lovely looking thing... are these soft metalchines crap..? will all the 10mm bolts shear with no warning..? im sure i was looking at a 500cc version of this in a shop recently.. quite tempted but i still doubt the quality of chinese budget machines.. .. .. ?
Great review!. Which one would you prefer for all porpouse bike (City, roads, off road)?, this mash or the zontes G1?. I'm about to buy one but still have doubts.
The X Trail 650 is a great machine, it looks like this but is totally different, frame, forks, shocks clocks are all upgraded and it has an absolutely bombproof Honda cloned 4T single air-cooled engine with a small oil cooler under the tank and its only £5K new, good clean ones go for £3500 and are one of the best buys in second-hand bikes you can make, not fast but quick enough and light enough to actually off-road unlike the big KTMs BMWs and the oversized honda XLs, Suzuki s new DR650S are very similar to the X trail 650s,
Looks very nice with a lot of modern features. Makes me wonder about the Mash 500 which just seems to have been left to fester as cheap and old fashioned, especially with a drum brake on the back. Are they just letting it die a death and are planning a completely rethunk replacement? I like the look of the 650 classic but doesn't seem to be available in this country, although at least it exists unlike the legendary new BSA Goldstar!
It’s a fine looking bike....especially for a 125. I have an issue with the price. It isn’t 125 money especially for a Chinese bike. It’s just my opinion but they should do a version with normal decent (gold painted) mag wheels and also forget the trick upsidey forks, they aren’t required on a 125. They need a version that comes in very near £3K. £4K will see limited sales in my opinion
agreed, 4k+ should also get you significantly closer to max A1 than they are. The CB125F has similar performance and is 1k cheaper. I do love the looks of the mash but honestly its the same parts (and rough look) as the lexmoto valiant which is sub 2k. Basically all im saying is that i agree becuase even more reputable brands manage to give you more for less and if your going for less you may as well pay less (lexmoto)
wrote the last coment before i'd seen the end of the video ,, so it's supposed to look like an XT ,, great , i would have sold my soul for a bike that good looking at 17
Nice, but that radiator is going to get battered by road grime/stones etc. It’s crying out for a rad guard. I don’t understand the logic of that silly, short front mudguard? 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
They’ve got the styling right whereas Yamaha haven’t! They missed the trick not bringing back a decent modern XT500/250. We just need Mash to bring us a 250 and it be around £4K. This is where I think they have got it wrong, the pricing on the 125 is far too high. Lose the spoked wheels and the upside down forks....it’s a 125!! Make it £3K and they’d sell loads, but not at 4 they won’t!
Sooo you 'ave watched the monty python and are now thinking all french peoples are speaking in that silly way .I pick my nose in your general direction.
I really like this but whoever decided on mash for a manufacturer name hasn't done the company any favours IMO (yes I know opinions are like arseholes every one has one)
good to see you riding again mate

The same with my Bullit 250, too low so I fitted a larger gearbox sprocket.

I'd like to see more bikes like this in Canada. Small, and affordable.
Looks good.
I have a Mash Roadstar 500 and have been trying to join the Mash Owners Club for over three months. Still waiting for approval!!!!.

Gold rims, a favourite of mine. I did my ankle six years ago and it's never been the same so treat yours kindly.

Great review as always bill near Durham

Will you be doing a review on the new lexmoto LS-Z been waiting for a review by someone on it for a while.
Pretty good French accent 😀. 1:08 my favourite of your bikes. Do you still have it? I'm not a fan 0f 125s, but I like the 650 you tested a bit back.
Nice looking bike I was just thinking that that when you said about the xt
Would love to see it fitted with 18” and 21” rims and trail tires
Great review!. Which one would you prefer for all porpouse bike (City, roads, off road)?, this mash or the zontes G1?. I'm about to buy one but still have doubts.
Hmm, this for offroad and country lanes. The Zontes for city road and country lanes....depends what you will mostly use it for.
@@motorsforthemasses thank you for your comment
Lovely bike, only thing is I can’t see it selling too well as my April is sx125 was £3850 brand new and there are many used Hondas for less money
Nice looking bike, definitely very old school Yamaha XT250 like
Sounds like it could use an extra tooth on the front sprocket ? Or maybe a couple less on the rear ?
Looks as good if not better than the bullit hero, just need a 250 version next!

LOL, absolutely. The five hundred is making a comeback though. motomondo.com/brands/#brand-mash

That name though, I think of squashed potatoes, one of the reasons I opted for the Caballero.

Independent brakes are important on a 125. This has them , it’s an actually good 125.
Nice wee 125
Nice Video - DER ROLLER ALEX
Ma alla fine quanti km/h fa ste 125 4t euro 4 o 5 con 11cv,pesa solo 112kg
Hi, i'm 5'5, do you think i could ride it comfortably without tiptoeing too much? love ya mate
I think you may be on tiotoes, to one side....
Need a 250cc version 👍
Well it looks good

How reliable is it please
No complaints so far
Why is it so smoky?
engine?
like the gold wheels , very Yamaha XT'ish
Mine goes 124 kmh on the dash
Why are 125 bikes so expensive
Looks even more like 1980s yamaha xt500 than the 500. Nothing wrong with that though.
