I literally cannot wait to see your character in *KinnPorsche.* I'm not certain who you play - I am told that he is called _'Mek'_ - but it seems so dark and psychotic; and, loads of fun for you to play.
Anyone who thinks English is hard to learn should try this. It's even harder than Japanese and forget writing it. The good thing about Thai is that unlike Latin based languages there are no articles to worry about, no verb to be, no verb conjugations and no plural forms for adjectives and nouns (which made learning French very difficult). It is also a very musical sounding language almost like singing. I'm also starting to watch more Thai movies, thanks to Amazon Video and Netflix which seem to have gone all Asia with a lot of their content.
The difficulty of a language depends on how much it has in common with your native language(s) or languages you have learned. The new parts are the hardest parts usually. For English speakers learning Thai, the most difficult parts are usually tones, distinguishing the third type of plosive (like g, k, and kʰ, English says both Ks are the same, but Thai says the [kʰ] in "kill" is different than the [k] in "skill"), and learning vocabulary that distinguishes more things than English, like the multiple words for "and" depending on the situation or "want", like in Perth's Basic Thai 5 video. Also, just learning the vocabulary in general since English is primarily Latin and German with some Greek, while Thai isn't even in the Proto-Indo-European family, like all three of those, though it does take a significant portion of its vocabulary from Pali and Sanskrit which are Indian languages that are in the Proto-Indo-European family, though they share very little in common with the three languages English takes from the most. However, Thai does have many English loanwords and many Thai speakers, in some areas, know enough English that if you pronounce an English word with a Thai accent, you might not need to know the Thai word or you may even be saying the Thai word especially if it's a STEM topic (Some borrowings include: condo, cafe (coffee), shopping, credit card, check, DNA, collagen, computer, basketball, rock (the music genre), xerox, sauce, gas...) I am so relieved that Thai doesn't make grammatical changes to words. It may make compounds for grammatical reasons, but it doesn't change the word itself (like kit, the verb "think", and kwamkit, the noun "thought" but in Thai it's still "kit" in both words). I've learned Spanish and German in the past and the hardest part was always remembering gender and remembering endings. I really enjoy grammar, but I don't love inflecting verbs for tense or aspect or case or whatever else.
@@FishboyAbzu English spelling makes sense if you understand why it was spelled that way originally, but learning roots from Latin, Greek, and German, learning French spelling and pronunciation (French is ~25% of English words, due to the French ruling England in the middle ages), and understanding how pronunciation changed over time is a huge amount of work, probably more than just memorizing everything. I do recommend that English learners become familiar with Latin and Greek roots that are common in English. Knowing those helps with unfamiliar words that have a lot of parts.
You have officially become my favorite actor omg. Just finished watching my engineer and found out you are also a pokemon master and fluent in japanese and took some time to teach your interfans some thai is just so aspiring. Thank your for making these videos!Susu Na P’Perth!
