When my dad took a side trip from Paris to Normandy (part of a bus tour), he ate at an American friendly restaurant near there and got pizza of all things! Ha, ha...
I've been watching your videos since you made the reaction video to "The history of everything I guess.." and for some odd reason I have never to this day commented. Well, after seeing your emotional reaction at Belleau Wood, I could not keep my silence any longer. You are officially the best UA-camr on this damn platform. I know that is a subjective comment, but it's one I stand behind so wholeheartedly. You see, I'm a man from Spring Hill TN (Yes there is a small Civil War battlefield here) with a wife & 1 yr old daughter. I don't watch any TV and barely play Video Games anymore because of my schedule, I've watched UA-cam for years to go to sleep, entertain me on breaks at work, and countless other things. I have never really stuck with one UA-cam channel for long. It has now been over a year counting that almost every night... I digest a new video you have uploaded. I learn something new... I take in just the amazing emotion you have for History like I do... and seeing your emotion RAW from travelling like I love to do.. Man.. I know this has been quite the comment and you probably didn't even read all of it 😅 but I cannot express how much admiration I have for what you do Chris. Thank you so much for what you do.
Honestly really satisfying to watch and experience some of that journey! Glad you had a great time! I wouldn't mind more of these little vlog videos. That pizza vending machine had me laughing 😂
Chris, I love the way you always bring us on a journey with a social/historical commentary. However, you take every viewpoint and opinion into account providing a great deal of empathy towards all involved. You are like Anthony Bourdain meets Mr. Rogers. Keep up the great work!!!
These behind the scenes types of videos are a fantastic way to remember a trip, especially with a first time visit to a place like France! Thank you for showing us!
Chris, I'm so happy that you got to experience this trip. You deserved to go. Thank you for the fantastic episodes they all were very entertaining and informative.
Hello Chris, I’ve been watching this channel for about a year now, back in last April, and I must say your channel helped me a TON in understanding key historic events. Great job, and greetings from Cairo 👋
This stuff mixed with your battlefield videos would be excellent in future! Really helps piece together your personal journey and builds the anticipation for us at home!
No matter what you talk about or show is it's entertaining. This video resonated a lot with me because at almost the same time you were doing this I was taking my first ever trip from the UK to the States and (apart from first class!) so much of the wonder of just seeing new places for the first time and having new experiences reminds me of that trip
Dtw is my home airport so that’s cool you were there and thank for showing the flights I love airplanes and hope to be a pilot someday. I also love history too
Brilliant video Chris. Love all your videos as I feel like I always learn something new. This wasn’t educational but it made me laugh in quite a few places and really made me want to visit France. That view was amazing from your hotel. Keep up the amazing work.
I remember going to Europe and having it all figured out. Sleeping on the trans-Atlantic flight was going to be the perfect way for me to avoid jetlag. Of course, that didn't happen, but I still felt fine. Of course, it wasn't long until I was out cold and throwing off my perfectly planned sleep schedule. I also remember convincing myself that I wouldn't go with any preconceived notions of what to expect. In a sense, I didn't, because I didn't really know what to expect. Somehow, it still defied my expectations. Nothing will prepare you for a trip like that outside of doing it, no matter how much you think you've prepared for it. But that ends up being part of the fun of it. Btw, what was the verdict on the pizza?
Here in Italy wild boars are fairly common in the countryside, I was surprised you had never seen that in your life before. Also I gotta know what that pizza tasted like.
Great BTS. Though I'd love to see this on your main VTH channel to reach a bigger audience since this also fits the channel name of "vlogging", unless you want to grow this channel with videos such as this of course.
For those asking: the pizza was very good.
Nice 👍 and the Chick fil a was as well I assume.
You thought you were here for history. Apparently, you're here for food reviews. Lol
That’s nice

This is super cool! I really like the addition of a new channel for stuff like this!
I am also very jealous of all the leg room you got on your flights!
This is when Chris surprises us and says he made an entire video dedicated specifically to the Pizza

Thanks for letting us come along.
Thanks for showing the plane information! Us aviation geeks really appreciate!

Watching you experience traveling to Europe for the first time just makes my heart giddy! Any first timer advice?

The work behind the history 🙌
Love the behind the scenes and even discovered the pizza vending machine. Excellent.

I had a vending machine pizza somewhere in Canton, Tx When I went their last summer. The pizza was good too.
Love this! I'm a huge fan of this vlogging type of content, definitely do more of this, not just travel vlogs, but daily or weekly too!
Videos like this with behind the scenes are perfect for this channel . Really liking this channel 👍

Unfortunately you got the A330 they do it it on the A350 now which has a nicer cabin but both are great
Nice to see your experience of another country, can't wait for your verdict on the UK, especially the driving. Beware of the roundabouts.

Your excitement is palpable it really is cool to see!
This was so great!!! I hope you do more behind the scenes videos. But we have to know…how was the pizza?
This is amazing Chris, love it !
Verdun is beautiful, couldn’t imagine being there in 1916

you should do more of this!!

It makes sense what the French were fighting for. Beautiful urban and rural land everywhere.
Very cool! I had no idea pizza vending machines were a thing haha! I hope to travel to France someday too!
Tbh, I am French and I had no idea this existed as well xD I don't know where he found that
I really enjoyed this one can't wait for the Netherlands version of it

4:43 darn right, can’t not eat chick fil a at the airport
watching this during passover and i cant wait to eat cake again that made me so hungry😂
lol Never under estimate the French and their sweets, Chris. That stuff is something else.
You gota come to the uk mate
You the man
The pizza is more important than the entire trip to the people in the comments
I didn’t know they made a pizza vending machine.
How was that pizza?
You didn’t need a passport to go to Costa Rica?! How does that work?
Before 9/11 you just needed a birth certificate and drivers license for most travel in North and Central America.
@@vthextra ahhhhh makes sense
Where is the pizza 🍕
@VTH Extra 00:00 u did a typo you wrote 'winter of 2022' i dident know you were a time traveler
I was there in January and February 2022. It was winter. How is that time travel or a typo?
@@vthextra oh that ok that is just me seeing winter different i think if winter as in setpember october and december
@@Qwerty-of4cy winter doesn’t even start until around December 20. It ends in late March.
@@VloggingThroughHistory well i dont know if thats like the official thing but for me that what i associate with winter
Did you get a free First Class upgrade or did you actually buy a First Class ticket? Isn‘t that incredibly expensive? 😂
I used points to upgrade. I’ve flown a lot for Rachel’s Challenge in the last 8 years
@@vthextra That‘s so cool!
Don’t you mean the winter of 2021
It was in January 2022. January is Winter, so Winter 2022.
Didn’t think of it like that
