How about ”compared with” or ”compared to”? What you should use depends on whether similarity or difference is what you want to point out.

That explanation of yours was so clear and easy to understand. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to get the meanings of "made of" "made from" "made with" and "made out of". It would have been very confusing for me to differentiate the four expressions. Even very experienced English learners like me would still be struggling with it. Thank you so much for clarifying my doubts about that. I appreciate it a lot ❤😊.

Hi sir. I have a doubt about the last question...
Local people made a bridge out of bamboo...
    Answer is "made out of"
But we can still see Bamboo on that bridge. So I thought the answer was "made of"...
Could you please explain this to me, if you can...?

    • @englishspeaking360
      @englishspeaking360  7 місяців тому

      Excellent question!
You could say "the bridge is made of bamboo" but you can't say that "local people made a bridge of bamboo". It would not sound right.
Also, the use of bamboo is not so common in building bridges. This implies some creativity from the local people. That is why we use "made out of".
I hope my explanation is helpful.

I'm not sure if the steel beams bridge example is correct. Sure, the beams are visible and almost unchanged, but even though they're a crucial part of the bridge, it's not the only important part, so I'd say "This bridge is made with steel beams" because there are more to it than just the beams.

Your lessons are captivating! But coud you make them with not so flasy wait color of background, please! It`s too hard fore eyes! I think it woud be better to chose gray or turbid-dark-green color

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to add a neutral background color in the future. Have a great day!

Great explanation. In the last question, why bamboo, not bamboos? Thank you.

Good question. The plural form of bamboo is... bamboo.
Also, it is a type of wood so with don't use the plural form. The table and chairs are made of oak. (Not oaks)

    Question 7
The bridge is made of beams whilst there is a lot of creativity and brains behind it as well, like in the last question?

Steel beams are commonly used in bridge building. I guess it all depends on how you see it or where you're from. 👍
