I was born in Whittier, and grew up in San Diego. I love older neighborhoods. My brother and his wife live in the California Heights Historic District. It's just wonderful.
My grandparents built a home during the depression on Earl Ave near 25th, in california mission style. bungalows, and craftsman cottages all around. Likely not much of Long Beach isn't historic ! Great to see love lavished on these great houses.
That was a lovely presentation. It brought back pleasant memories of my honeymoon and our first home as a married couple. Do you present Long Beach history as well? My wife and I had our first meal out together in Long Beach at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Long Beach Blvd in a long forgotten restaurant back in 1966.
That's so wonderful and I'm so glad! Thank you for sharing your fond memories of Long Beach. We mostly focus on historical homes and neighborhoods but we'll have to consider more history for future videos.
THANKS! Never heard of Elliot Lane - just checked it out. A quaint, narrow one-way street with one-side parking only. Some of the homes look to be no more than 600 square feet! Just lovely.
I own property in a historical district in LB.... i find it annoying the way the city has too much of a say in new construction on the property.... I never signed up for a "HOA" Style situation neither did a relative who also owns a property in a historical district since 1972 as she broke ground as the first black person on her street
If not already done so, please look into the Mills Act which allows for a generous tax benefit in exchange for caring for a historical home. Helps ease the pain! Cheers,

Outstanding job profiling the historic beauty of Long Beach, I was lucky enough to have called Carroll Park east my neighborhood for about a decade.
I was born in LB and grew up in Lakewood. I'm surprised that "Munchkin Land", near the Virginia Estates, is not a historic district.
