    Despite it's very sad to hear of all the struggle you and Brian went through - it's great to hear that you recovered, I'm thrilled knowing that Psychotic Waltz may keep releasing new albums and Deadsoul Tribe are coming back! Thank you Devon! Thank you all!

    The God Shaped Void is a real gem; atmospheric with great sounding guitars. Can’t listen to it unless I play it all the way through. Every musician strives to produce an album like this but very few succeed. I have been listening to metal since the 80’s and deeply appreciate the effort that went into TGSV. I hope to one day hear something new from PW, but understand life happens. Thanks PW for such a brilliant album.

    I wanted to say that the Psychotic Waltz music attracted a core audience that will accept that our 'rock star heroes' grow older, as the core audience has grown older with you... The songs from the albums (including the new stellar release, congratulations) are like soul music to the core audience and they cannot be damaged by a bad note or a strained performance. It is a privilege that this collection of talents made music for this audience, and it is sad if material realities like expenses of touring life to support a human being with a disability will deprive us from seeing you again but even in that case, nothing from what you achieved can be diminished by the effects of what is in the end the passage of time. The music is eternal. An eternal, absolute joy, shimmering in the night sky. As part of the core audience I only say thank you.

    So excited for you and for the new music you're creating. Dead Soul Tribe were for a large part, the soundtrack to my student years and early adulthood. It's a beautiful thing to hear the journey continues. When I put that new record on, it will be like uniting with an old friend.... one who has grown and changed and with fresh stories to tell. Best wishes on your creative journey, I can't wait to hear it. 🙏😎

Managed to see you live at least once (most of the show was trying to see through teardrops but i ve made it ) and I prefer to have more albums that will remain for ever ,than another show without any of you five and even more putting on jeopardy one's life. Thank you. All of my love from a Greek fan.

    Psychotic Waltz were my absolute favorite band since my youth. So of course it made me sad to hear that you won't be performing anymore. But I can understand it completely. Health is more important than anything else. And so it's an absolutely understandable and good reason for me that Brian takes his health into consideration here and the rest of the band stands by him, so to speak. A colleague at work once told me "There are many jobs, but you only have your health once, so don't waste your time with jobs that ruin your health" - maybe playing in a band is more than just a job, but you still shouldn't put your health at risk for it.
    But I'm also happy to hear that there is new material from Dead Soul Tribe - I'm looking forward to the album!

Psychotic Waltz has always been my favorite San Diego band. I still wear my A Social Grace T shirt often. I still listen to all the PW albums often. Hey man discovered Psychotic Waltz back in December last year and have been absolutely loving every bit of music you and the rest of the guys have created over the years. I'd go as far as to say you guys created your own genre. I just can't seem to find any bands similar to the likes of Darkstar, strange mind, Teabag, End Amen, and of course Psychotic Waltz if you know of any please don't hesitate to let me know, the closest I've gotten to finding aomething was Spiral Architect and Behind the Curtain. But anywho, I'd like to ask you a couple questions. First of all, Would you mind listing off some and your and the bands main inspirations? Second, do you think it would be possible to re-arrange Dark Millenium into a more complete album with vocals and other instrumentation added as well? Is that something you and the guys would consider? And third, is a Social Grace Mosquito Bleeding Into the Everflow?

    • @devon-graves-studio-D
      @devon-graves-studio-D  3 місяці тому

      Hey there, Thanks for the kind words. I know Spiral Architect. Bernie, the bass player was hanging around the band in Germany back in the early days, so any similarity is probably not a coincidence. Anyway, the reasson we may sound so different is in the answer to one of your questions, asking about our influences. Norm was into all sorts of metal, like Mercyful fate, to Fates Warning... thrash all thst studd. The heavier the better. Ward was into 70n prog, Yes, Rush Pink Floyd. Dan as into Queensryche, Randy Rhodes, The Beatles, Van Halen. Brian was into Kiss, AC-DC Maiden, etc. I was into Zeppelin, Sabbath, Jethro Tull Bowie, Bob Marley, Bad Brains, Janes Addiction Queen. We all shared bands between us too. The key was, we each played like the bands we likes simultaneously, and got whqt we got. Your last question was rhetorical so I'll leave it there. Dark Mellinium will never be more than it is. I had literrally nothing to do with that one.

    • @Lovestone_blind
      @Lovestone_blind 3 місяці тому

      @@devon-graves-studio-D dude thanks for getting back to me on this, you're awesome. Those influences you mentioned explain SO much about your guys sound. Fates warning and Jethro Tull were pretty obvious of course but man I had no idea how varied your guys tastes were. and it all comes together so well. Thx again and thank you and the rest of the guys for, in some ways, making my musical dreams come true. Truly inspiring musicianship. Hope to hear about the new deadsoul album and what's next for PW soon. Hold on I just thought of something. What about the bass player on Bleeding? Was he simply filling in like Steve cox was or did he also contribute musically on that album?

      Phil initiated the intro bass line on Faded. But most of the bass lines were written either by Dan of Myself. Phil also shot and directed the Faded and My Grave videos on 16mm film, as he was a SDSU film student at the time.@@Lovestone_blind

    I'm sorry for Psychotic (read the news about 2 months ago), but i had time to realize what was lost and look into the future with a more optimistic viewpoint (maybe new album - reissues).
    Just saw that Patrick Engel finished the masters of the PW albums. As a record collector, i love discovering nuggets of news like this - makes me optimistic about the future and having some secondary goals. Makes life more spicy and have more essence. Can't wait for them!
    Also along with the new Deadsoul Tribe album, could you please remaster (or at least re-release) the old Deadsoul Tribe albums! I'd like to have everything from you (i also can't find Shadow Theory)! And maybe Insideout could work an agreement to release Darkstar and Dan Rock/Brian McAlpin stuff (End Amen) and all of Norm's bands!
    Anyway can't wait to hear what you have to provide!

    Best music i have ever experience was you and psychotic waltz live in Denmark Copenhagen at "barbue" (candlemass and video on stage.... Lots og guitar solos). I remember i was saying to you end show where you walked of the little stage... "Fucking great" and you said Thanks. I was so LUCKY to see you again in 1995 and last time in 1996 at "Loppen" Christiania.
    I knew too that this 5 album void something was when you lost me (a big bummer).... A Lot of singing technic but SHIT boring guitar and drums as was it Nirvana 🤕. I hope the others from psychotic waltz Will make something instrumental or find another singer because they got super stuff in their brains and better end this album 5 with some progressive playing. Then you can make your radio pop in Devon Grace and be played in the radio until you see that money is something in the stupid head planet earth (sorry but album 5 was not All together....it was you).
