Another interesting one is norwegian Triathlon superstar Kristian Blummenfelt (olympic gold, and world record and title in ironman) making a change to cycling, and likely signing with Jayco. He has the highest ever recorded VO2 Max, at a likely 103-104, and he will for sure be a beast. The team around him and their science is wanted by everybody, and his own coach said that they will be aiming for yellow at tdf in 2028. Could be fun to follow for sure!

If Remco can continue to make podium finishes these next few years, any team would be lucky to have him. Anything can happen with these grande tours. Primoz needs to ride with a rabbit's foot in his back pocket with all the bad luck he has been having with the TDF.

The way the whole team and especially Jan Hirt and Landa rode with Remco they end up the third best team by standings. And they add another super domestique. This will make them no less than Bora, actually better. Landa's pull on the penultimate climb was outstanding.

It is amazing how Remco, systematically ticks off, one by one his weak points. Ticked Off: Remco cannot descend, sprint, position in the peloton, climb in the high mountains, not explosive, not strategic, always has a bad day in a grand tour. It is true that there is still a considerable gap with Jonas and Tadej. But to Remco, those are just other weak points to tick off.

JV is a better cyclist than Remco…PERIODT, had JV not crashed he would be in the level of Tadej, I think he would not have won this year considering the amount of zone 2 that Tadej did in the Giro….

Remco Evenepoel is still learning. I think once the gaps are addressed in his training and nutrition, he should be in the conversation. He is still relatively young.

I just can't see Soudal Q letting Remco go without matching any offer. They have too much invested in his success. He is literally the face of their team. That said, as you stated Redbull is bringing mega $$$ in and will expect success for their investment. I'd expect the entire sport is about to see a step up in salaries as other teams will have to match some of the offers to stay competitive.

Why does nobody talk about Victor Campenaerts going to Visma-LAB next year? Even PCS is refusing to acknowledge the transfer. He is 100% going to a WT team next year. And can do tons of work for a team given his style of racing.

That one is exciting ... can't wait. Breakaway? OK, done. Motoring? OK, done. Need some explosives ... well Done 😀People sometimes forget (or simply don't know that he is an Hour Record Holder). Admittedly, I'm from BE but our own 'little' VOCSNOR ('SNOR' is moustache, Vocsnor is his pet name in BE) can be really valuable. I'm really excited that he would be able to make such a big step. If it's true, he will ride himself to near death each and every time. Love the guy!!!

Sepp Kuss is great, but he is not a GC rider. Forget about this idea. Vuelta he won, because Remco cracked. Don't get me wrong he deserved the win, but it was all because of Remco that he was allowed to win the Vuelta. Both Roglic and Jonas would have taken the time if they had been allowed.

It's worth pointing out that unless they've changed their policy, Ineos can't sign Simon Yates for the same reason they didn't a few years ago - because they don't sign riders with any doping in their history

  • @michaelgriffiths305

The RB deal depends on their ambition, if they wait a year Lefevre’s negotiating position is weaker but other options may open up. If Remco gains 0.3w/Kg performance (possible) AND ASO put 70km of TT into le tour Remco can challenge Pogacar and even usurp Vingegaard as the main challenger. However, Pogacar will attack him near the top of many climbs with his explosive ability forcing Remco to chase on descents. I also think Pogacar still has aero gains in his TT position (head lower by 5-6cm on flat courses).
I could see Remco beating Pogacar one day BUT he needs a strong cohesive team, good strategy and it’ll be close. To be clear, as it stands he has not shown this ability but I’m basing this on the fact 2024 cannot be Remco’s ceiling. In 2024 he lost Paris Nice, crashed and unlike Roglic was smart in the Dauphne. I think he’d go to Redbull expecting to be leader. I think if Wout went there and they talked that could work then a cheeky steal by RB like getting Simon Yates would work

watching Ineos now that the evil Sky empire has crumbled sort of reminds me of the English as their global empire fell apart beneath them. they lost their bite, then their respect… but they still have influence and lots of money! only difference is Ineos will have a resurgence within our lifetimes. eventually they’ll land some proper gc contenders, but it will probably be a few years.

Remco can't climb anywhere near as well as Pogacar & Vingegaard, if he is to win a TdF he needs to vastly improve that aspect & also have a better team behind him, yes he better than most of the peleton except those two but it's a big gap imo especially when Vingegaard can't possibly have been at his best and yet still dropped Remco.

remco to bora makes a load of sense, sponsors and with ROG not having too much time left in his career it makes sense. Astana won't exist in its current form next year, expect most of that current team to be somewhere else next year with the Chinese purchase of the Astana team.

I think it’s not smart from RB to let Kämna go, he showed that he is one of the best stage hunters in the mountains and a super domestique for hindley in the giro, prepared the attack so well for hindley when he rode in the jersey. I can see why they let Buchmann go, didn’t really know what to expect from him, doesn’t have the acceleration for stage wins and often he is not good enough to win GC and is unlucky with crashes and illnesses.

There will be a lot of talk of action in Fuschl, that performance is for sure not acceptable to RedBull. Remco would make a lot of sense, as buying out Pogacar seems to be impossible. Or maybe Vingegaard? They want to win and they have a lot of money.
Other option is that they will start with young talent. That would fit their strategy, as Redbull is usually happy to build for a few years. But they lost Utebrooks, and not sure who is on the market there. For them, they have to win the TdF; everything else is not acceptable for Redbull I guess.

Unless Roglic has quickstarted a GC culture at Bora/red Bull, then there is no point in going there except money and hope for future good environment. If remco still has doubts about soudal whom seemed to have taken the right steps, then the only real alternative is Ineos. They have the knowhow. Bora does not.
Whats in Bora favour is specialized and enough money to quickstart a GC culture.

As the transfers show RBBH is unfortunately completely losing it's orientation towards German-speaking riders. To me this team, as the only German WT team at the moment, is continuously losing its identity and becoming just another super team. With no other team around - except maybe Tudor as a Swiss team - I think it's a big blow to German cycling to not have at least one WT team as a focal point and to bring up new talents.
