Hello. That engine of yours runs nice. I'm glad you won't give up on this topic. You will probably use the experience you have gained in your new construction
I'm not quite ready to publish anything but any info I have is free to anyone that emails me. I was never fully happy with this engine because there is so much more potential. I'll be building mk 4 in a few weeks : )
Great to see this at the end of your project, try lagging stuff, lagging the chimney at the point of entry will stop the temperature drop off at the flue outlet from the exchanger, lag the fire so more energy gets to the hot side of the chamber instead ofgoing to the atmosphere, spinning the heat exchanger may be difficult but could be very effective, Similarly lagging the piston exchanger and interface duct will help(do you need tha duct, it just creates dead volume and waste), also if you made it an active exchanger(peltier effect disks on the inside of the exchanger which are electric driven coming from the alternator output, but the speed of the engine would have to sync with the speed of heat transfer and will be voltage related). Also worth calculating the stochiometrics to see what you put in and what you get out. this is one of the best projects for small engines with useful output.
Привет.О 🎉🎉🎉 очень рад снова увидеть Вас . Дорогой Шейн искренне желаю успехов и новых проектов . Хочу собрать больше размером и подключить к отоплению дома . Или теплицы .
Its realy realy good. Maybe if you can make smaler wheel on generator side it can be better, or use regulator for lower voltage (36V for example)What you use as piston ring? I planet build similar one to coal boiler door and cold sice cooling to return side from house radiators. Maybe I can help with some electronics solution :)
Maybe you could help with the electronics side, it's really not my thing! I never really had chance to play with the generator before the new owner collected it! Many thanks
It's funny you say that because I'm about to embark on that within the next week or so. I've already got the rocket stove leftover from another project : ) ....
Urr.... You got me, nothing : (. I only had chance for one test run before it went to it's new home. I think I needed to lower charge voltage so engine could run slower and produce power
that watt meter did not work, because your generator is a source and not load and that meter cannot show negative values. Also you need to match a little that generator design voltage.... You need to spin it faster to generate more volts, or use only 3 batteries. It is (for me) so sad that after so many time spent into this there is no valid measurment of the output power. If I may suggest you should get a simple voltmeter (multimeter) and for current a clamp meter. That clamp meter that can measure DC currents is not for free (about 50USD) but it is so simple and safe to use.... I am using one that has 2/20/60A range... that 2A range is actually more usefull that you can think.

Beautiful work, and nicely presented.
Your audience is lucky to have such a fine instructor.
Please publish plans and build instructions; yours has to be the best DIY stirling engine.

@@ShanePomeroy Many thanks; looking forward to your next project.
She's going nicely! Looking forward to the next build.
Thing of beauty. It is so quiet and so much fun to watch. Thank you for building it and for sharing it with us.
Hey Shane good to see you back
Looks good with the radiator
Im looking forward to the new engine
Thanks so much for sharing this project Shane! I’ve been following from the start of this build and can’t wait for the next one!
I can not wait for the next build keep them coming - stay safe
The return of the king!!!
What a beautifull engine!

Excellent job, fair play to you sir, your videos are great to watch, keep up the great work
Awesome man and congratulations....you have very good skills.

Hi, so wondering have you ever considered using a rocket stove setup for the engine?
It's funny you say that because I'm about to embark on that within the next week or so. I've already got the rocket stove leftover from another project : ) ....
You mention selling the engine-any idea what the new owner has planned for it? Looking forward to seeing the new one.
The new owner is an enthusiast who collects engines. They will no doubt be showing it next year
how many watts were you able to generate?

Sounds awefully 'dry'
