Wow 🤩 the easiest and most helpful video i have watched regarding these crimp beads and making brackets
So glad you liked it!
Very straight forward video.....I love how this clasp works.... good for arthritic fingers. Do you still have stock, and if so, do you ship outside of USA? (I'm in Australia)
Yes, we have plenty available and we can ship anywhere you'd like. There is currently no way to do an online order for non-US shipping, so go ahead and send me an email to one.glance.jewelry@gmail.com , or give me a call at (832)569-5969 and let me know how many you would like and your mailing address and I can get you a quote for shipping and manually do the order for you :)
This looks like so much fun to do!
It really is, and so easy!
This is the most simple instructional video for making magnetic-clasp-bracelets. Thank you! Hopefully, the 1x1mm size crimp bead will hold heavier, 8mm & 6mm stone beads.... Went to One Glance Jewelry store's website but they don't disclose the material, the magnetic clasps are made from. Are they stainless steel? Do you carry, the same type of magnetic clasps in (black) magnetic hematite?
Glad you liked the video Matilda! Hopefully I can answer some of your questions-I have used both 6 & 8mm stones with this type of clasp method and have not had any issues, so you should be good to go. As per the material, unfortunately we do not know for sure what material they are made of as the original packaging was not labeled-but if I had to guess, I would say stainless. And as for the color, these only come in silver. If I can help with anything else, just let me know!
Just received my magnets and they are amazing
Yay! Glad you like them! They are SO incredibly strong! Enjoy :)
This sounds like a wonderful idea.
I've been trying this with size 1 beadalone crimp beads and I'm having so many issues, could it be that they're too big?
I can't fit them into the hole of the clasp
Nice work. Please how do you get the beads to be flush next to the magnetic clasp?
Sure, so go back and watch the video again starting at 2:20, and specifically at 3:30-3:40 it shows how the beads are made flush. Hope this helps!
Hello, How many do you get. When I click on the link for the crimps I don't see the picture of the bag of crimps
I do not make jewelry, but I want to fix a string bead bracelet I got as a gift that already broke. I wonder if I can use this. I seems like the string may be a little thicker than that wire you have in the video. Hmmm
Can these be used with necklaces made with string?
String as in silk thread? For that I would tie a few knots rather than using the crimps because the crimps may cut through the cord. You can actually string on a seed bead inside the magnet clasp before tying the knots to help block the hole in the magnet as the knots may not be big enough to do so on their own. Also I would probably put a small bit of glue on the knot to help secure it. Hope that helps!
Thank you for this! I do have a couple of questions if you can help. My current knecklace is using a type of metal twisted wiring because nylon kept breaking. Do you have a link for what you are using? Will the clasps work on this type of metal twisted wiring?
Thank you again!
Yes, absolutely that type of wire will work for this. You may find this video we made helpful to choose which will be the best wire to use: ua-cam.com/video/A7Vx5Ym9r_4/v-deo.html , and the link to actually purchase the wires can be found in the description section! Let me know if I can help with anything else :)
@@oneglance8759 Absolutely helped. I'm thinking 49-21 will fit the magnetic beads I have or should I go with 49-18? I find my issue to be more about the clasps rusting than the string breaking. Do they make stainless steel clasps by chance? Either way I think you have provided me with all of the information I need to get this done myself.
Also need to look online, need to find a single clasp that allows for two rows (bracelet).
Hi, what type of wire did you use?
Fab tutorial, 👌👌👌👌👌
So glad you enjoyed the video! There is another video here that will fill you in on all the details for the wire, enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/A7Vx5Ym9r_4/v-deo.html
@@oneglance8759 awww thank you 🤗
Where do I buy magnetic clasps the same as you have used ?
What size gauge wire are you using? My bracelet is all magnets. What wire do you recommend?
Sure thing! Check out this quick video and see if that helps you decide what you would prefer :) it breaks it down really well and makes it easy to understand! Let me know if still you have questions :)

@@oneglance8759 Thank you so much!! I really appreciate your fast response! I'll check it out ;))
@@krissyu you’re very welcome!
Do these work on necklaces to? Also, can you substitute these for a necklace that already has a clasp on it?
Yes, this absolutely works on necklaces, but you will most likely need to restring. Hope that helps!
THANKYOU!
Is there a way to get rust off of the clasps? Also what kind of string r u using
Is this item that you're asking about having rust an item that you've purchased from us?
As for the stringing wire, we are using Beadalon's stringing wire, and the strength and quality is kind of based on the beads you choose, but most often I choose either the 19-18, or the 49-18 strand for projects like these :)
I like this. Beautiful bracelet👌🏿
Thanks! It's a great magnet clasp to work with :)
Where do you get the clasps???
You can grab them right here!
oneglancejewelry.com/search?q=magnet
How would I use these if I am replacing clasps on a already knotted string???? Would I have to restring or is there a way to attach these onto my original knotted end? Thanks
Hi, thanks for your interest-I just responded to your email with more details, but the short version is that yes, you will have to redo the whole thing, so sorry! It will be much better quality and last much longer after you do though!
@@oneglance8759 Again.....Thanks
Great tutorial and just placed a order. Thank u 🙏🏽
Awesome, so glad you liked it! I think you're going to love using these clasps!
I purchased your magic clasp can you say how long it takes before you ship them out
Dee Williams yes ma’am, they shipped out the day after you placed your order :) should be arriving shortly!
Holly Gardner Thank you
Can crimp bead be used on elastic stretch string?
No, sorry, it’ll cut the cord. We’ve got a video for stretch bracelets that’s quick and easy to show you the tying and gluing procedure :) will add the link for you in my reply comment below :)
ua-cam.com/video/daWRbpHxM5Y/v-deo.htmlsi=w0UM1Gdkb-XG37Kv
What size crimp bead to use with 018 gauge wire??
It will be the size one crimps for any gauge wire when using with the magnet clasps :)
What should be the cost of this in UK or USA?
All prices listed are in USD.
What wire /string do you use?
Sure! There is another quick video that you can check out that gives an overview on the type of wire you should use here:
ua-cam.com/video/A7Vx5Ym9r_4/v-deo.html
Enjoy!
I was trying to use the copolymer cord that you have to melt the ends, but they just weren't strong enough to hold when I would pull the magnets apart. Would these crimps hold strong enough onto the cord to pull the magnets apart?
Yes absolutely-the crimps work great and we use them frequently. Here is a link for them if you need to know which ones we use for that. oneglancejewelry.com/search?q=magnet+clasp
@@oneglance8759 one last question.....can you tell me where to buy the same pliers and wire cutter that you used? thank you
@@tonystank107 Absolutely~we do sell them in the shop, I just haven't listed them on the website yet. Cutters are $19.99, and the flats are $16.00 (the flats now come with a blue handle, but the tool is exactly the same). If you would like some, I can just send you a direct invoice via paypal, or you can call the shop to place an order over the phone at (832)569-5969. Hope this helps!
Can you use this to make double stand bracelet with large beads?
Yes absolutely, you will need to taper the beads towards the end where the clasp is so they fit together nicely without gapping in string, and you will want to use very thin wire since they will both need to go through the same crimp, and just make sure that when you go to crimp them, the wires are side by side and don't cross so you get a better grip on them :)
Alternate option is to put a pin through from the inside of the magnet to make a loop on the outside so you can use it like a traditional clasp where you would crimp and wire guard your strands to the loops on each side. Hopefully that make sense!!
Hello, I got the hide a crimp clasp and love it, thanks! Do you know of they will ever come gold, gun metal or black colors? Sometimes silver isn't the right color to use. Any information would be appreciated.
Oh excellent question! We actually have ordered them in other colors, but are not sure when they will arrive due to all the covid shipping delays, but we will be sure to post them as soon as they arrive! Feel free to join our email list or check out our Facebook page for the fastest updates!
Do you think a 1.3mm will work? Because i’m going to Michaels today to try the metal clasp and this video was very helpful I just need to know if the 1.3mm will work. Thanks!
Are you asking about one of our magnet clasps, or are you trying to purchase one from Michaels, because that would be a completely different item that could be any size and most likely a completely different connection.
One Glance Oh no sorry I was talking about the crimp bead you used
@@taylorsanchez9061 I do not think a 1.3mm crimp would work with this exact clasp that we sell unfortunately, but we do sell crimps that coordinate with this clasp
Does this work with elastic as well?
Cherlynn Stevens yes ma’am! As long as you tie the know bulky enough that the magnet cannot slip over it, it will work great :)
Can you put these on stretch cord???
So you could use the clasp with stretch cord if you wanted, but I would not use the crimps as they would cut through the cording. I would just tie and glue knots to hold the magnets on instead, or just not use a clasp at all.
Where do I find the magnets??
Sure thing, you can find the magnet clasps and the coordinating crimp beads here: oneglancejewelry.com/search?q=magnet+clasp
Hope that helps!
What kind of cord r u using
Thanks for asking! We use the normal Beadalon stringing wire that you would use on a necklace with a clasp on it, and if you need help choosing which kind to use, we have a video explaining it all going up this weekend! Will drop a link below for you when we post it:)
Wow. Thanks!🙏🏻☺💖
Can you post a link for the cord that you used?
Sure thing, here is a link to purchase the wire: oneglancejewelry.com/search?q=stringing+wire
And here is a link for another video we posted to help you choose the correct wire for the beads you are using: ua-cam.com/video/A7Vx5Ym9r_4/v-deo.html
@@oneglance8759 what size cord did you use?
@@tonystank107 Sure thing, for this project I used the 49-18 size cord.
What kind of beads are those?
Magnetic hematite with a pearlized coating! We've got them in several colors if you're interested~$10/strand
Is this similar to how you would attach a barrel clasp that doesn't have loops? I'm a novice and stumped!
Yes, this would be a similar technique-as long as the crimp will fit inside the barrel. If it doesn't fit, you may try inserting a tiny headpin into the hole from the inside of the clasp and then making your own loops to attach things with. Hope this helps!
Where can I purchase these clasps? I cannot find the link on this post. Thank you!
Sure thing, they can be purchased here: oneglancejewelry.com/search?q=magnet+clasp , enjoy!
@@oneglance8759 do you sell the crimp beads as well? What was that size again?
@@RicanDavi Yes we do! That was on the same link I sent you earlier, size 1 :)
@@oneglance8759 perfect, thank you so much!
does this work with beading thread?
It wouldn't be the best and strongest option, but you could definitely try it if you wanted. The main thing you will want to watch out for is to make sure that the crimp doesn't cut through the thread. You could alternatively use multiple strands of thread and knot them at the ends instead of using the crimp while making sure that the knot is large enough that it won't slip through the hole in the magnet clasp and that may work for you. Hope that helps answer your question!
What size wire are you using
Donna Mawhorter this is a Beadalon- 49 strand .018” wire :) most wires should fit with this projects though, as long as you can get the size one crimp over it.
