@@RISCGames now the situation has changed thanks to tesla slashing msrp and im leaning model 3 performance. For about 5k more than a loaded kona I can get a model 3 performance. And ive always wanted a car that could go 0-60 in less than 4 seconds.
@@jaya1000 I can see that and I originally wanted a Model 3 but over time have just grown to prefer this in the end. If Tesla hadn’t hiked the self drive costs so much my mindset may be a little different but in the end, this ticks more boxes for me personally.
@@RISCGames id definitely be sacrificing alot in terms of interior quality, ride comfort, but on the other hand for 2/3s the price of a corvette I can accelerate as fast and I can charge it at my work instead of 91 gas at 17mpg, I feel like I have to get the tm3p. This recent tesla price slashing is the opportunity in the ev market ive been patiently waiting for. Wont be long EVs will be priced the exact same as any comparable gas car. Maybe 5 years.
As far as the putting power down this is certainly because of the tires. Throw some Michelin CrossClimate 2s on it and done! Question though, on this model are the side mirrors powered folding?
Is it roomy on the driver side I am considering this vehicle as an option I test drove the EUV bolt but I did not go with it because they went crazy in the mark up MSRP was 38500 then jumped up to 43000 and my Hyundai dealer doesn't have any on there lots at this time 😔
I love the Kona but I don’t like it in white. It looks very blah in white. I’m surprised they let you do this with the snow getting in every time you opened a door or hood.
charge port in the front is the best place. how broken is your brain dude. and why do a "review" in the snow. just bleeping wait. it's really not that important.
The 2023 Kona EV has a defect that Hyundai cannot fix! We are on our second 2023 Kona EV and it has the same problem as the first one. There is no internal heat and @hyundai cannot fix it. Our dealerships solution, @Colonial_Hyundai, was to swap a brand new car (same make, model and color) for more money a month. But, the new Kona EV has the same exact defect! Obviously Hyundai quality controls are severely lacking. When we reached out to @hyundai, they don't think anything is wrong with our situation. I will NEVER buy another @hyundai again! #HyundaiKona #KonaElectric
So, @hyundai sent their regional EV expert to look at our 2nd 2023 Kona EV. Get this, he says it is 'operating as designed'. Take a look at the videos I took after his diagnosis and let me know if you think the heating system can be trusted in the winter. ua-cam.com/play/PL7Lcm9IY-sZ-r_6wE2RKStjK4C9Rzf3Z2.html
Man, that sucks... There's absolutely no way someone could install a software update or turn the temperature higher than 25°C for the heater to kick on... It uses electric coils and/or a heat pump. There's no engine producing a constant stream of waste heat to tap off, it's an On/Off affair. But... I'll give you $50 for your defective car.😁
I’m not a fan of EV’s. Not because of the vehicles themselves. It’s a good, not great, idea. We aren’t close to being set up properly for them yet. Charging stations, grid, cost, distance etc. They’re getting forced on us. Maybe do a video about your thoughts on the EV.
Agree EVs nothing but a placebo. The US is not setup grid wise for them. Remember the gov in Ca. buy an EV but dont plug it in on certain days.Take the floods bad winter storms tornados battery dont fully charge in the cold no thanks Ill stick with my Kona N more fun.
I don’t know where you live but I see charging stations everywhere. Of course they’re not as abundant as gas stations but since you can charge up daily at home you never really need to public charge unless driving long distance which just requires some minor mindful planning, as with every trip in general.
@@RISCGames I live in Buffalo, NY. One of the worst states ever. Hardly any charging stations around here. Complete joke EV’s are being pushed so hard and we’re not even close to being prepared.
@@cindysue5474 A lot of that that guidance is really low tech guidance. If you own an EV you SHOULD be, for your OWN benefit, not charge it during peak hours. Its more expensive to charge it during the day AND places undue strain on an electrical grid. Charging it during off hours means you get cheap electric rates and mitigate strain to the grid. Everyone wins.... with the basic usage of triggering charge times.
@@Mike14G You won't ever get charging stations until people buy cars.... by adopting the cars, you encourage the building of a broader network. This is how adoption of new technology always works. It takes time, and adopting the technology increases proliferation of it and increases proliferation of things which support it. Imagine if we didnt adopt computers because they're expensive and being pushed on us, because we dont like that internet hasnt fully developed yet.... Its the same exact concept. You need people to adopt the damn thing if you want the support system that comes with it. You cant expect an used support system to exist before user adoption, that makes no sense.
I'm a fan. Dollar for dollar it's better than a 3 or Y.
Definitely more preferable, it’s much more of a car and less tech gadgetry but still nicely futuristic.

Looking forward to owning a Kona soon. Great video of the 2023 Kona EV.

Fun in the snow ❄️
Saw this yesterday at the Portland auto show..was pretty impressed for a value vehicle.

does it have true one pedal driving?
Hello,
What is the capacity of fastcharging ?

Neo: It drives like a Kona..
Morpheus: What if I told you, it was a Kona.. ;)
Then you would be accurate in saying that
Ugh, the location of that charging port ruins the look.
Nice Hyundai ev 👍
is there any head-upp display on kona preferred?
yes
Slow down just a tad bit while giving info about the vehicles especially on the interiors.
he's always been like this. he just completely ignores you. he's not a quality guy, he's just quantity. he thinks it's the only way to do it.
This the type of EV I like, they don’t have that weird futuristic design, they should do more EVs like this
Do these ones burn down while charging like the previous models?

Dear god for the price point on this car, the interior looks really really REALLY cheap.
Horrible location for the charge port
Might be convenient in some situations, my wife doesn't like to back up into our carport.
@@vaddimka if you ever crack your bumper your car is out of operation.
You think they'd use LED lights because they're more efficient instead of those what look like HID or halogen
The Limited trim does use LED. Not sure if it comes with the tech pack upgrade though.
Just need it to be sold in Ohio
It’s 35k but all cars at the dealership wil go to 44k 😂
