Now granted Guy did say that he hold back because he didn't want to kill Kisame to get his intel but still, surviving Hirudora point blank is a good feat. Him also preferring to die rather than snitch on his comrades is very respectable.
Kisame had drained chakra from Killer Bee and the 8 tails + Samehada wouldnt so shit against Guy who doesnt use chakra based attacks, so it doesnt matter if he had samehada or not +Guy had to use 7 gates only because he wanted to get the scroll back faster

If Oda is genius for mixing various cultures and story with a twist of mystery in it, i can say Kishimoto is infamous for making the story longer with too many flags that can make you frustrates, but also makes you want it to watch it more. If this two Mangaka join forces together to create a new Manga series, but with a little bit of mix from their famous masterpiece (One Piece and Naruto series), damn bro, i only can imagine if that happens will probably broke the internet.
