That sure sucks you couldn't find him but it happens to everyone. I had a few of these happened to me couldn't sleep through the night and thought you had to find it. I will say you had me thinking any second you were going to say there it is. Great video Papa. Thanks for sharing
That was great tracking job. The look of remorse on your face at the end of the video says it all. Thanks for your honesty.
David Reed thanks for watching appreciate it tried my best!!
I was really hoping you would find him. You really put on a lot of leg work to find him. That was exciting to watch even though I don’t hunt. Hopefully he heals up and find him again. That’s for taking us on a wild ride Papa, that was very exciting to watch.
thanks man really appreciate that big time, yea cant get em all just like fishing ya know
Nice video
Way to put the time in. Many people wouldn’t have tracked 1/2 that far. Happens to the best of us!!
Thanks brotha, your right man, but the way I see it im already wasting the morning and for me its a sin to leave an animal I could have had if I was not too lazy to put the extra effort, our duty as an outdoorsman. Appreciate you watching, Im looking into trying and get to Maine this season and track a big northern buck if possible, already got drawn for a canadian moose tag so season is shaping up. tight lines bro
Papa Romes Outdoors tracking first snow can insane!! Alot of our biggest deer come via tracking. I know a guy, through a guy who got either a 270lb this year or last. He’s got a bunch in the 250 range. Snow is key. Let me know how that trip shapes up
@@precisionanglingYT that is awesome and huge. My uncle got a nice 250 dressed this year, beauty. I was gonna call Hal blood up see about going in his area or something, appreciate it man ill keep ya posted.
New to your channel fam! Just saw you on BNO Outdoors and had to stop by and show you love brother!!! Let's definitely stay connected!
Bro the camouflage hunting gear is siiiick! I'm not a hunter but i really admire what you do!!! Its definitely a method behind the madness; true science behind what you do!
Thank you for sharing brother!
thank you really appreciatet that a lot, yea I mean camo has come a long way, I have harvested deer in red plaid shirts and blue jeans, but today we are getting such intense camo for cheap its unreal, blend right in
I'm generally not a fan of music choices for alot of videos but the music and the volume level of it was a great compliment to your video
Thanks buddy appreciate that
Thank you for the lesson. I know it wasn’t easy. Awesome tracking, honestly I would’ve quit
Hey brother! Great video, and some really nice tracking.. I've never crossbow hunted.. but theres always next year. Thanks for taking us along. Be blessed brother
thanks so much man, really appreciate your feedback and watching always. Im not a big fan of the crossbow, they are fun and awesome for filming better also, but i enjoy my bow, im more accurate and I messed the cam up with this one so its not shooting straight anymore
My hat's off to you brother. Excellent display of effort to find your deer, your a true ethical sportsman!
Thank you for that, really means a lot to me, I try my best to do the right thing and follow all rules to try and teach the young kids today what its about, thanks for watching
Tracking deer like that is rough!! That was amazing you were able to track him that far!!! Those were some awesome shots of deer!!!
thanks buddy, yea I try to learn any chance I get with tracking. Love tracking them in the snow and getting em always fun to pick up a track in the morning and connect by evening
Never been deer hunting before ‼️ you made me feel like I was there with you ‼️‼️👊🏼 awesome video
Thank you appreciate it
Been there. Way to give great time and effort, the animal and hunting deserve it. Good luck in the future.
A great effort to find your buck . And great tracking skills. I commend you.
Cool video
Great effort on tracking that deer. Same thing happened to me several years back with my bow. Lots of blood in the beginning and just little drops here and there. That deer lived and maybe you'll have another chance next season. Love your vids. Subscribed!
Thank you for the kind words and following along it means a lot. Yea that’s thing if we hunt long enough eventually we will see misses and bad shots like mine, unfortunate but at least I did my part to make sure it did not die. Thanks again
Great videos thanks for sharing
thank you for watching
Awesome video. We can't use crossbow here unless you get dr to sign off on a shoulder disability. I finally will start bow hunting this year. Will need a lot of practice
thanks so much for checking it out, thats awesome I wish you the best of luck its so great to get out extra time and season out there. NY used to be like that but now we are allowed, i still use my bow more than the crossbow almost always.
Man thats a tough break Romes!! But seeing all those bucks you passed up, you have a lot of sheds to find this spring! Keep your head up cuz you got this!
yea when the snow melts brotha, cant wait. i had freakin 4 feet today i guess piled up throughout the winter in the valley of pines I fell over my knee trying to walk crazy another month it should be fully gone.
@@paparomesoutdoors711 the waiting is gonna kills us too up here haha
Amazing I subscribed to your channel
I'm really liking the idea of crossbow 👍👏🌷
thank you JOy, really appreciate that. it does make it fun
Nice tracking job. I know it's still heart breaking not to be able to recover one, but you know the saying. "If you hunt enough, it's bound to happen"
Strung Out Outdoors gotta love that sniper 370!
Great footage Papa. The unfortunate hit that has happened to any of us that has put anytime hunting with archery equipment.Watched the video in full gave you a like #payingitforward
we have tracked a deer a great distance and never found it it sucks great video
thanks buddy, really appreciate that
Very cool channel bro, great footage in this one. Subbed up. Let's go for 2K.
Thank you
That really sucks not finding him. Hopefully he heals up and you see him next year with a drop tine or something! What a crap feeling but unfortunately it happens to most of us... I hate that gut wrenching feeling.. Great video as always keep it up bro
Thanks brotha, I hope you come with me to double or tripple team his ass next season!
All that blood.. I know how you feel. Been there done that. Sucks big time not being able to find them.
You gave it all buddy. 👍🙏😉
Awesome video buddy
Thank you man, really appreciate you coming by
What a great video Papa! I'm so impressed with your camera angles and the way you put this vide together, great story telling! I'm hoping to get to your level at some point on my channel, Boomer Ranger Ron, but I have a ways to go yet. What kind of crossbow are you using? The shot was a bit high and forward, and it's just too bad because you did everything right! And this video became a "how to track a wounded deer" as well! You did all you could to try and recover this one.
Nice thumbs up
thank you, I have something you will deff wanna watch legit UFO footage coming out next week and um well youll see no bs as you can tell from my channel everything is real and legit. Thanks for coming
This was interesting for sure!👍🏻😁❤️🦊
Glad you enjoyed it
that sucks you didn't find him!!!! great video!!!!
thank you appreciate it
Brother i definitely wish you could have found the little critter but hey I guess it happens sometimes!
me too, once in a blue moon, my cam got thrown off I found out later causing my bow to shoot 2 feet to the left. most likely from shooting a broken half decock arrow the weight acted liek a dry fire and after a week of doing this threw the cams off
That's to bad you didn't get him but he probably did live. I have a cross bow and have taken a few deer here in Missouri with it. I plan on getting a camera and making some videos next season. keep up the good work
thank you appreciate it, I think he lived also, most important thing is get familiar with your camera so when you film the hunt its game on
I think he’ll be fine too. Maybe you’ll see him again next season!
totally, i hope i see him, he had a big rack for a young buck
So what's going on?
Man this video had me on the edge of my seat sucks you didn’t get him
Thanks man, appreciate that, I wish but ended up with a better buck rifle anyway, thanks for watching man
cant belive im saying this but thx for the spoiler
Spoiler alert
Great footage brother, to bad you lost him man.👊😁
yea man, appreciate you watching, sucks but at least i bagged a bigger buck rifle season. happens to many of us at some point while out there
It happens,nice job
Been there done that fun I shoot sniper 370 with slackers works really well
thanks for watching appreciate it hope all is well. I find that crossbow to be really great for the money, other than knocking the scope prior to this shot i have not been let down with it.
Been wanting to give crossbow a shot, I’ve heard they are loud, that true? Awesome vid
depends the crossbow, they are all different silencers and if your speed is fast enough noise wont matter. Thanks for watching
Hi new friend here saw you on BNO . lets stay connected
Alright some action😊👍🏽
thank you
Well at least you gave it your all most would had quit way before that . Great video
Certainly did my best, thank you for watching
Next time bro you'll get'um😊🤙🏽
I got em a few weeks after that in my rifle public land video but a bigger buck so all is good. thank you for watching
LIKE #58
Hello new to your channel!! Great video very interesting!! I really felt like im with you watching!! Looking forward to your upcoming videos.Just hit your bell Have a Great day Be Encouraged!!
Maybe you get him next time, good luck with the hunt buddy
thank you so much appreciate it, always next year
Awesome job on the tracking shitty you never found him but that definitely happens to all of us at least once
yea it deff does, many times edited out of videos especially on TV, but I found the footage and wanted to show it, glad you enjoyed
Nice video, want to learn but just haven't the time.
Yea i understand it is time consuming and costly at the start, thank you for checking it out
Man that xbow that i have the centerpoint sniper, can anyone confirm?
Why shoot the neck when you could hit the lung/heart?
Not by choice after a week of using only what I had a broken half decock arrow the light weight acted as if it dry fired the crossbow and threw the cams off. Bow shot 2 feet to the left. Never intended for a neck shot.
Much respect on your tracking, most would’ve given up before the first hour.👊
thanks so much that means alot, I really did try hard, and went back for a week after listening for birds, and looking nothing, he lived
he doubled back on you ....changed direction in a bow...look at your GPS signature!
good job tough break.. t
Yea I was doing big loops even with the GPS off just nuts how strong they are
Cool vid sucks that u did not find ur buck it is heart braking , I see a few thing I would change up that work for me but they may not work for you. Take them with a grain of salt and do as u wish.
First thing is I would go out and buy lighted nocks I personally like nockturnals.
Second thing is when blood gets spotty I use flagging/ribbon it’s like $2 a role keep right in my pack, it gives the the last spot of blood pulse u can follow a pattern of the deeds travel.
And then just from all the deer and past bow kills I have learned 9 out of 10 a deer that is hit good will almost never go up hill , he will head down hill and to the nearest water.
Also this is first I have ever seen someone take a neck shot with a bow, (not knowing if that’s where u were aiming) but in my experience i personally would never. I am for lungs and heart. I lost a huge 8 even with a perfect lung shot he Ran out of blood, first 100 yards was just as if someone took a 5 gal pail and poured it out as they walked n keep refilling then where I found my arrow feel out /blood blew my arrow out looked like a crime scene then went to spots for next 25 yard then no blood, he had mad it from a field to hard wood rig into picker bushes all going down hill to the brook. I did circles for hours and hours going back to my last spot of blood doing a and more circles trying to look at the ground different and different angles , when and got helped I knew the deer was dead but yet we could not find him. Long story short a week after I left the place I was hunting they found my deer 100 feet from my last blood, in between two big logs that where full of pickers. Because they could see my ribbon they knew it was my deer and where it was but I knew from the second I touched my trigger where that arrow was the hole time to the deer and through the wood I could see it going down the hill.
Sorry for long post just though I’d explain it a little better.
no apology thats good to offer any help to anyone, appreciate you, Ill start from the top.
totally agree with the lumenknocks i use them on my bow really good stuff, just dont use my crossbow as much and did not want to spend money where i didnt need to at the moment.
flagging tape is a good use, but i cut the parts out I GPS, all my last spots that were small droplets until i can circle around to find it again because he was all over with his movements.
totally right about most deer, even with me they almost always run down hill to water to cool, but this one lost his blood going up for some reason, but i did find water swamps up top also but he was not there as well, the blood literally sealed up I even went back for a week listening for birds nothing, i dont think he died.
also no i did not intend on a neck shot, looked like more of the upper shoulder lower neck i thought i clipped the apex of the lung, but either way i aimed on the heart. My crossbow a week before was dead on but after a week of cocking and uncocking with the arrows they break and i was using half arrows which are too light, between those whipping my cams and me pulling my string with my fingers it set my cams off, making it shoot over a foot to the left. I wanted to put all this in, but reality is people dont want to watch any longer than they need, so i just gave them the best edited version i could. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Been there it’s never easy!
yea it sucks but happens and i know i can easily only show the good hunts but that would be false, ppl need to learn we do not always connect same with fishing
What county in NY ? I live in the Catskill mountains. Great video.
Timothy Petry thanks for watching should check out my other deer hunts have some good ones on there
The shot was Too far Forward in “NO MANS LAND”. Just a muscle hit, unfortunately.
yep it was, I bumped my scope on the way up the tree and the next morning shot it and it was off by nearly 2 feet to the left. stinks but its reality.
Been there dude. The first deer I ever shot I didn't find
That’s the truth thanks for watching
That’s a shame you dint get him, he might heal up and you will get him next year , my grandpa hit a buck and could never find him 2 years ago, saw him on the trail cam 2 weeks later like nothing happened
yea totally happens, they are used to being stuck by antlers literally opened up like this and heal right up, they are survivors of all conditions. I skimmed a buck with the muzzleloader years ago, got him a year later a giant 8, and had the scar still nice buck.
Shew buddy, been there... That'll make you sick but it happens to all of us
yea bro it does, but its worse when its a 50 inch bull Moose LOL talk about a bad year, filming and hunting adds a lot of extra we dont need at times lol. thanks for watching
@@paparomesoutdoors711 for sure, but man when it works out and you get it on film that's an incredible feeling
@@gmoneystrong2477 totally bro, you do such an amazing job at it also I love watching your hunts. great filming and editing
Micr music nice video and Unfortunately too bad you didn’t find them but that is and think good job anyway
thanks buddy, appreciate you watching
I'm new to your channel
thank you and welcome, I hope you enjoy
it looked like you had got him with all that blood ,,,but maybe next time great vid
Thank you appreciate it
I hate when that happens. But honestly that's how I learned how to track. My dad is color blind and cant see red at all so I had to teach myself. They are craft ba$tards when they're injured.
No doubt...
totally they are survivors for sure, but we must outsmart them. Thanks for watching
what bow you shooting?
Centerpoint 370 Sniper
Don’t think I would have taken that shot with all the branches in the way
Hopefully, we'll have more time next year.
We’ll see
WOW so lucky and unlucky at same time.Shows you how tough deer are maybe not the best spot not the worst either.
Yea I’d say more unlucky, deer are extremely tough especially bucks during the Rutt. Luckily it was not a trophy buck but nevertheless I still put the same recovery effort as any deer, as any ethical hunter should. Thanks for watching
Greetings from my place! Nice to meet you! Buttons pushed! See you around my leisure deck!--*--*-
Thank you for stopping by, hope you enjoy some of my creations!
I join from Jamaicagirl123 🇯🇲
can someone please contact me as sort of a mentor type figure i just got my hunting licence in NJ i know it is kind of h=late in the season but i just got it and all my equipment i scored a 97 on my hunters ed final exam and want to learn as much as i can about hunting im very new to this and have some questions please and thanks
Good for you getting out and trying it, I’m not a personal guide so I don’t offer one on one help but if you watch my channel I provide so much information on hunting field processing. Cooking and survival good luck
This shit looks like a scene from the hatchet 🪓
Wow!!
I feel freaking bad for that poor deer how much he suffered from that shoot on the neck
Front shoulder guess your not a hunter
Keep your chin up. I know how ya feel
yea buddy, it happens, i learned to roll with it over the years, does not happen too often but this last year with filming I had a lot of mishaps
I just got a deer with a crossbow 8 point
TTV_ Jacescar1 very nice congrats!
Hello there, I'm new here. You have a really great channel. I hope you come join our little family. I smashed your like button and got my bell on. Much love my new friend.
It’s amazing they can live from a neck shot
They get gorged all the time fighting but really does blow my mind how strong they are
Why a neck shot. And not in the vitals?
good question, while pulling the crossbow up my tree the rope was hung up on a branch on the floor causing it to drop 2 feet and banging the scope. I aimed behind the shoulder, but the scope was off because of that shooting over a foot to the left. I corrected it and hit my mark this season
Don’t understand the neck shot. Wasn’t on purpose I know, but you had a scope!!.. crap happens
Big Red when I pulled my crossbow up I. The stand the rope wrapped around it and rolled it down hitting the scope when I sighted it in that afternoon it shot 3 feet over it was not intentional
Thats a Tuff Lose.
yea it is, but it happens, my mess up so i just had to bite it, thanks for watching man
Not the best angle for lung shot ?
Angle was fine I didn’t hit my mark is the issue
Why did you take a neck shot? If you would had let him step one more time you would had found him.
no i had a good shot, while pulling my crossbow up that evening the string rolled up around my scope and it unraveled landing on a rock knocking it off by nearly 2 ft which is why i missed my target, the next morning i sighted it back in and was dialed in again
I mean good to follow up but next time take your time with your shot, good luck next time.
Coyotes probably get em..if you want
why on earth would you shoot a deer in the neck with a crossbow?
I was aiming for the tail sorry
@@paparomesoutdoors711 I don't find it funny that you left an animal with a hole in its neck because you didn't know what you were doing. Have some respect for the animals you hunt.
@@wingersfan your funny I lightly bumped the scope on the tree going up it knocked it two feet off I didn’t think it was off I aimed on the heart. You need to chill out and know the facts or go join PETA
Why a neck shot better practice more you had a clear shot if you waited 2 more seconds.
Wasn’t while pulling the crossbow up that day the string unraveled around the bow causing it to hit the rock hard knocking it off by nearly 2 feet I aimed behind the shoulder
Sorry I can’t take music videos 👎🏿
Wtf deer healing bro that was an unethical shoot and you wounded the buck, suck to see this happen you must feel like total shit.
He didn't heal.. That was a shitty shot and a poor track
Bad shot
That was a terrible shot, Again Get clear kill zone shots to aim at or pass the animal up for another day.
agree, unfortunate the crossbow hung up on my rope the morning of and dropped on the scope knocking it off literally 1.5 feet or more to the left causing this miss shot placement. I re dialed it in after the hunt and it was on point
Bad shot . To far forward
My string got wound up on the limbs bringing it up and unraveled bumping the rock hard knocking my scope off almost 2 feet to the left
You dont put an arrow into a deer and expect them to just heal up! Thats bad hunting practice definently wont be subscribing to your channel, maybe next time give the deer the respect and drop them with one shot! That's why we spend all the time making sure we can shoot properly, never pull the trigger unless you know, you let that buck die and decompose in the woods, bad choice why even post this video???
Your a joke
So was that shot!!!
Its videos like like that that make good hunting frowned upon
Nice video
Thank you
