I’m not as familiar with how TE construction works in TEP (only in 2 TEP leagues). From what I can tell you can view TEs essentially as a “tier up” in relation to their tier in non-TEP. As far as construction I kind of like having a couple younger guys who can hit and support that with an old reliable. TE is sort of hard to predict overall.
For TE construction - The way I look at it is you either corner the market and build an edge over league mates or if you can't get a top 5 guy you punt way down and buy one later if you're in the position to compete. If you don't have one of the top 5 I think it's tough to compete unless you have a big edge in other positions.
With rookie picks and everyone going after RBs and WR I feel like you can usually find value at a elite TE if the class has them. Brock at 1.10 is attainable in SF and is valued top two tiers in start ups for TE's even Sinnott with a wild production profile is late 2nd.
@texmextmsl you have been selected from the wheel of fortune! check the by laws, remember there is a 25 dollar buyin a year, so 50 up front in leaguesafe so entirely safe, and lemme know if you are still in!
TE if I can’t get La porta / pitts / mandrews / kelce / bowers basically I like to stack my TE and qb if possible. If there is no TEP I only want a real difference maker like those above or basically hold no one else except a pulse for the week. With a good TEP I like to take extra as they can flex as well as them nasty WR boys. Also boo on leagues with no TEP.
I like the dilophosaurus…especially since it got Newman For TEs I treat the position with very low priority - in a start up I’ll let them go off the board and just grab the Nijokwu/Engram toward the 10th-11th round. I’ll prioritize QB & WR and even a RB or two over the TE - The exception would be LaPorta - I could justify taking him picks (25-35) if the Nabers, GWilson, AjBrown tier is gone and I don’t want to be the first to grab the next tier of WRs …I’d grab LaPorta then and hit the tier next round. As exciting as Andrews, Kincaid, etc will be - I’d rather stack my other positions and wait for Tight End. I owned Gronk over his entire career in a league and I had years of Antonio Gates and Tony G where they felt special in the lineups vs other teams- now it just feels like the position has so much depth even in TEP that you can afford to wait.
Question on RBs I’m a long time season long player. Just recently got hooked on dynasty. I took this start up draft to take value where I saw it but mostly did a 1-3 year player core draft. I.e via trade I’m Caleb Williams. Jayden Daniels, Tank Dell, Rome Odunze, JSN, Trey benson, ad Mitchell. Christian Watson. So I feel as if I’m solidly in a rebuild coming out of the draft. Given what you said. Should I hold benson for this build given he’s young and can grow in value or should I move him for picks?
We would all move him in general for a 25 1st because of the flexibility and insulation but we would not sell him just to sell him! For less than that since he fits your timeline maybe holding is smart. 2 2nds would also be tempting but depends on where they project. 2 late 2nds seems light for example.

That's a good question. They run around 24 mph. For reference, the fastest ball carrier speed in the NFL last season was 22.2 mph by DK Metcalf. Get a Velociraptor into the open field with the ball and he's gone.
I am conflicted on if i should try to compete or push. I am in a start 9 superflex full ppr. There are 2 maybe 3 clear contenders in the league and i feel like i am not too far off. I have mahomes, McCarthy, mayfield. Mcrbride at te. Then my 2 wrs and 2 flexes is amon ra, puka, london, nabers. Only backups is Micheal wilson, wicks, and burton. Then i have the commanders rb room in brian robinson and ekler then a bunch of back rbs. Do i wait to the season or try to compete or do i liquidate my high end back rbs and the commander rbs and baker and just wait till next year
How much draft capital do you have in your pocket? You probably need a stud RB to be a true contender in a start 9 and you don't have much depth to survive any bad luck in-season. If you're flush with future picks you can probably set yourself up as a contender by buying an RB1 before the season and addressing in-season needs with the remaining picks. If you don't have a ton of draft capital but you at least have all of your picks and maybe a few extra, we aren't against seeing how the first few weeks of the season go and making a decision from there. Your core pieces are young though so we wouldn't be against liquidating your older players and setting yourself up for a very strong 2025 season either. Just don't go full tank and strip it down to the studs to try and get the 1.01. You have a nice core in place and we don't recommend moving backwards. Feel free to respond with your available draft capital if you would like and we can give more advice.
@@Dynoconff i have 2 firsts, 3 seconds and 2 thirds in 2025. Then in 2026 i have 2 firsts 2 seconds and 1 third. Then all my picks in 2027. I have some decent capital but i am not too sure if i can buy a stud. Thank you so much for helping i definitely will not go full tank
@@jwolf2254 Nice! A good young core and some extra firsts is a great place to be sitting and gives you the option to head in any direction. If you want to compete then you can probably find a solid RB1 between now and the start of the season. If you go this way, I'd be willing to deal a future first that isn't yours for an RB (as long as its one worth a first!). Then I'd save the rest of your draft capital until you know if you're a real contender or not. I might be willing to move a 2nd or 3rd to plug a hole early in the season, but I wouldn't consider moving a future first for production until you know you're going for the ship.. If you're a patient person and want to wait, you could potentially have a ridiculous roster next season as long as JJ looks like a decent QB2. You have a few players you can sell to contenders to add to your draft capital and with a little luck you'll be able to flip some random backup RB's for more picks during the season. Next year should be a good RB class too so you should be able to address that position in the draft.. Sometimes when I'm in this situation I'll ask around to see what the RB market is like in that league and let those prices decide for me. If I find a deal I like, I'll take it and try to compete. If not, I'll stay patient... This is a good and important question, so I will also ask the other co-hosts to check this out and chime in when they can.
