Great review. I ordered one of the tamper/distribution tools to use with my Flair Pro 2, and it will be delivered on Friday. I'm really looking forward to using it.

Is the tamper spring loaded on the 2-in-1?

Does the tamper function the same way on the all in one as it does the standalone tamper?

If i have the normcore tamper, is it worth getting the distribution tool? I often feel like my result after tamping isn’t level

The description of how the tamper provides consistent pressure is incorrect. The tamper has two springs. One provides light resistance between the handle and skirt that seats on the portafilter rim. The second spring, which is changeable, creates the specific pressure between the handle and the tamping surface pushing against the coffee. Much like a torque wrench, the tamper will release pressure when the specific number is reached.

@@richterstitcher7936 It's too expensive and too fiddly of a hobby for my budget right now. I've spent way too much money the past couple years on upgrades and fancy crap I really don't need because as I've found out, I'm easily influenced. LOL I just can't continue to justify it anymore when I'm the only one using it. womp womp

@@Ginger_Lily I totally get it ginger. My husband pulls the reins on my spending quite often :-) it is so true I am also very easily influenced & not planning on getting another machine until we build a Lake-house. Maybe a year or two down the road so I have plenty of time to research the best one for us. thankfully he’s a coffee drinker!👍

I have a unbranded distribution and palm tamper how ever when ever I distribute the coffee grinds I can always see a buildup around the edges of the surface of the tool. Does this occur on the normcore one?
    Thanks

Love the tamper. I'm curious about their new spinning needle distributor. It looks like an affordable version of the product it's based off of, but I'm afraid of the needles being too thick for it to be effective.
