- Diane Chaplin cello, with Beaverton Symphony conducted by Dwayne Corbin, Jan 26 & 28 2024.
The earliest known cello concerto by a woman, this French romantic work hails from 1872. It is unclear which of the slow movements (there are 2) Jaëll intended for the work, but only fragments remain of the score for the Lento movement. This is the first performance of all four movements of the work, with the Lento movement orchestrated by Diane Chaplin.
00:00 Allegro moderato
07:30 Lento
13:45 Andantino sostenuto
18:50 Vivace molto
