I fused him , and out of a bunch of fragment champions stored summoned him recently during Bambus Champ chase to help in Hydra. I made a video for the ancient shard pulls but ended up talking half the video about this dude instead how great I think he is :D So glad I know others agree! He's pretty rad man!
Great showcase on islim, i started to work on him few days ago, i got him last double lego event before this one from ancients, i had skipped his fusion as it was right after emic so my account was pretty drained. Now i have suzerain katon in the vault unused and seeing him making an appearance on that hydra tema has got me intrigued, would appreciate a guide on that team or a suzerain showcase. Anyways, thanks for the video Saph very interesting to call my attention to champs deemed bad that i havent been using for anything.
I did the fusion because i needed another, better provoker than Skeuramis. It surprised me how well he was. Doubled my record from Hard hydra.. on Brutal! He also helped me to pass the higher stages in DT Hard. The only thing i was missing is, what you mentioned in the video, the problem to keep head of decay provoked. Its not really possible to use his abilities constantly AND provoke-lock the head. If you use non A1; head wont be provoked, if you do, you need to do to A1 every turn because no counterattack.
Seems like (single-turn) Provokers need to be built really fast or with Reflex sets and Refresh accessories. That is why I LOVE Jizoh in Hydra. Sure he hits for shit, but his Provoke is 2 turns and he can keep it up full time! You just have to make sure to use his Extra Turn ability after you have used the Provoke and not before.
His self healing is really impressive. I ignored the negative sentiment toward him and did the fusion. As soon as I have the resources to build him he's going straight into one of my Hydra teams.
Finally Islin's getting some love. I built him out and have been using him for a while and he's been amazing for me. Had a fight with him and Wukong against even a Taras and Marichka and ended up winning it because even Taras could not kill him (Gold 5 for reference). Islin barely ever went below half hp, and when he did, I just had to pop the A3 and immediately healed back up to full HP. Been really confused why no one else has been talking about him. Also, my main provoker in Hydra because of very good chance at provoking, able to give clutch tankiness, and the aoe speed slow and mini-buff strip.
Nobody is talking about him because he was "SkIpPablE". I swear, some of the hate these fusions get, for no other reason than people are too lazy to fuse them.
Depending on speeds etc, you can get the provoke bonus off AFTER you've provoked already. Since counter-attack is a 2 turn skill, you just have to land the lower chance provoke before you put your CA up. He's sitting in my frag champs to summon pile right now, because I've got too many more valuable champs to build and I didn't need his champ chase points yet.

I'm very happy I went for him. I built mine as a mischief tank. I'm only level 69 he helped me push much further into doom tower hard then I've been before. My destroy gear is not good enough for hard floor 100 scarab boss though the buff steal and wrong affinity is a problem. But in his mischief tank gear he couldn't die but I struggled to do enough destroy max hp meter damage for islin to kill him solo that way. I timed out. I'm sure if your destroy gear is good enough he can do it. Also I only had a problem with the top floor scarab boss. My gear is probably worse then a lot of players here so I'm sure he can do it.
I hard passed him in the fusion, as I really did not need him for anything, but pulled him during that same fusion on the 2x summon rush as I was 1 short of mercy, on my second shard. I will probably use him as a solo champ for DT and free up other champs.
ye, it was gnut and then emic and i was just burnt out in every way... but on the other hand i dont think i need him really. the almost unkillable thing is kinda cool though, imagine he would be a reviver on top ^^
@@zaubermaus8190 I'm not regretting Emic at all. He's made for some really easy comps and him paired with Visix for DT Hard Mortu floors are exceptional! Especially against the double Mortu/Skytouched rounds 🤢
@@murmustafa i brute force those with corvis/akemtum/artak/mithrala/elva, which is my usual DT hard team which can normally auto everything. mortu lands some perils of course, but he fails to one-shot most of the time and even when i lose 1 or 2 toons in the second round, as long as corvis and elva get to the third, its all good. But there are other strategies as well, when your champs die to the peril right away, bring udk, he takes half of those hits and pair him with shamael or another ignore def champ to snipe him. works for siphi waves too. But definitely a good thing that there are more and more ways to solve those "getting stuck" floors :)
i'm assuming for Nightmare or Brutal, higher resistance would be better so his buffs don't get stolen? So looks like he's good at Hard level but not at higher difficulty unless you have amazing gear

I just turn off his a3 in hydra. I'm more interested in keeping the slow speed and provoke up. Sometimes once I get ahead of those abilities I'll throw and A3 up but only when the a2 is on cooldown and the provoke is still up.
I wasn't going for the fusion at all. I just decided to do the normal dungeons stuff just to get the other rewards. Not sure how, but I got all the fragments for him anyways XD I haven't summoned him yet. Was going to wait for a fusion summon tournament for the points. But I'll definitely be summoning him soon
I got him because his kit seemed like it would be very useful, if not up front than in time, haven't had an opportunity to pull him yet, I would love to see what he does in dragon and icegolem in terms of soloing, along with how far along he can solo sand devil. merical heal may be fairly strong with him there.
I haven't fused him yet. Not sure if this convinced me to expedite fusing him, I'll have to watch again and consider where he'll fit on my roster once I do fuse. Nevertheless, you've given me all I need to build him once he's out of my portal.

I completed the fusion but haven't summoned him yet. I was waiting for the healing to be fixed and until I'm ready to build him there's no need to. Eventually I will get him up and running likely without books though.
my problem with him was: On the first look he seemed like a better Visix, but then you realise 1) Visix has a guaranteed provoke (not a1, but still) 2) she casts the decrease speed and ally protect on one skill aaand she's void, so no nasty weak hits. he seems so good at first, but especially considering his awful long cooldown on his buff ability and not guaranteed provoke, he reminds me of endalia a bit. She also has an a1 non-guaranteed provoke, but she also has aoe decrease attack and counterattacks pretty much all the time.
i went for him since i need all the help i can get for hydra lol. I'm glad i didn't just follow all the bad reviews on him, i figured his kit would still be useful longterm
I came across one in arena. I was NOT PREPARED. The sob wouldn't die and I had no heal reduction on my team. I told my Clan Leader about it and he didn't believe Islin was any good in arena. lol
Saph if you're out there build this guy slow (130-150) with as much defense, acc, and resist as possible and he becomes an arena killing machine. Ive finally got to building him since his fix. His kit reads as hydra and is amazing there but he is an arena god....how has no one noticed hes almost the exact same champ as UDK but way better. He is the anti Taras and every heavy hitting endgame champs kryptonite. His A2 is an incredibly hard hitting nuke that even if it does not kill everyone they'll get hit with decrease speed. Also on bosses stuff him in a guardian set and watch the insane mechanics and stupid amounts of healin. This is so damn good and good everywhere. Anyone sick of meta arena champs...here's the answer. I haven't seen anyone else in this game solo Iron twin with ease
This video absolutely enraged me. I skipped this fusion because I just couldn't see how to apply this guy's kit; that's my bad. But here's the thing: if Plarium would deign to tap Saph for the CC program so he has test server access, this video could have come out when it really mattered and I would absolutely have picked him up. Argh.
I learned the hard way how tanky this guy is. Came up against one during Plat push and it took me 6mins to get rid of him using a Taras and Dark Elhain because my bloody Arbiter kept healing him because she is so much faster 🤣
Currently Islin disappointed me by being my POGO champ even though I have been holding the fragments for a champ chase towwrds a better fusion. But I always need provokes in Hydra.
I skipped him, no regrets because I already cover all areas where he is useful. DT - Seer, Hydra - 3 auto teams, I have Urost, Dragon normal is too easy
these kinda videos always dissappoint me because the stats a pro/longtime player can get arte so rtediculous compared to a 1 year low spender. Its like oh i only have to have 3x better stats to make him useful.. yay?

What does your arena bonus great hall look like? i have basically been putting everything into hydra and mostly acc/resist.

A fair part of his kit reminds me of graybeard, 75% chance provoke on the a1 and a counter attack + shield on the a3

This is why I always go for fusions. I skipped brogni and still do not have him.
Now im frustrated that i didnt have enough resources do do his fusion. After few fusions in a row i ran dry with mats.
I wanted to do his fusion but my resources were too depleted at the time. A shame, but I'm sure I'll pull him at some point.

Why use Islin when you got a UDK? UDK made every other tank in the game null. Unfortunately, i missed out on UDK event so i don't have him....

He's pretty legit in Arena against AOE teams, he super tanky, counters constantly and hits hard and then provokes them to do their A1.

Keep in mind, single target provokes are not so awesome on auto.
I know is already 3 month, but i have the feeling since this week, Islin does not correct heal anymore.
Eventually I want to build a solo self counterattacke lego team. So far I have Gnut, Truath and Island .

Combine him with Wu Kong's self revive....
I fought him in 3v3 and it took me forever to take him down. Almost as annoying as UDK.

This is a really dumb champion to fight in the arena. I have nuked him down with every powerful I've cut his defense in half. 0 damage
