- As a fairly lazy modeller I rarely put in the extra effort. But when Airfix bring such a beautiful kit to the market sometimes I cannot help but attempt to do it justice. Airfix really have blown it out the water (like the ships that the Beauforts attacked) on this one.

A heck of a lot better than anything I could make, Captain. One thing I love about your posts, is the humour. So many take the subject, and themselves too seriously, surely model making should be fun.
I've made this but the other scheme, it really is a lovely kit.

Absolutely great work my friend. It looks like you don't use a spray booth. Sure, you use acrylic paints. I've been wondering myself if that's a good thing, to do it on the kitchen table? Some teens and a dog and my wife running around, without them dropping death? Or me? Truth be told, I'm pushing 60, and I remember, being 10 years old, sniffing the old airfix/humbrol enamel and white spirit fumes and absolutely loving those fumes. I've grown wiser over the decades. I think.
I don't use a spray booth, but I also acknowledge that I really should. When cleaning the brush I have a large box to spray into - not ideal but so far no casualties.
I would advise setting up a decent space for airbrushing, preferably with a booth, but failing that if you are using acrylic paints I don't think you'll have a problem on the table.

I will spoil one surprise - I have just bought the Airfix Mosquito PR.XVI - I want that to look better than this does!

Great finish. No doubt definitely your best so far. Excellent work free handing the camouflage. Shame the pooper is hidden away and not visible. I understand that could be common sense and courtesy as well but I reckon it could be realistically weathered as well? Just kidding 😅
I cannot help but feel the correct etiquette would be to use the ground-based facilities before or after the flight, but in the case of a close call with an AA barrage from a nearby destroyer I imagine the rather primitive pooper was sometimes necessary!

Awesome workmanship Cpt. Clearly, Blackadder is totally unimpressed with your reference to Flashheart, so it must be bloody good. As Aussie, I would like to see the Commonwealth book on the Beaufort. Can you provide a link. Love your work and honesty. Yes, I would love to see more kits like the Beaufort.

Missed your premier, have this kit in my stash and hope to build it with plastic alchemist group build end of march. Hope mine turns out as well as yours. Have got a mask set and Eduard interior detailing set. Thanks CPT vfc keep doing what you do, really enjoy your build and banter
With such a large, clear nose area, I think the interior set will be well worth it on this one!
