The most beneficial move for Dallas might be to get Lawrence or Fields and allocate that cap that would be used for Dak towards the defense. And they get the best of both worlds.
Draft Trevor and use him for draft picks and trades to bolster the defense.

Dak is and will be the QB for The Dallas Cowboys. Dallas can’t afford to start over with another QB. Since Daks minor setback as you can see, we’ve already gone through 3 different QBs and it’s been disastrous. However if Jerry doesn’t sign Dak, North Dakota State QB Trey Lance is by far the best QB in 2021 Draft Class (Patrick Mahomes caliber) FrFr!!!

It would be so like the cowboys to move off a franchise QB and then draft a bust at QB. Crazy thing is they've paid all these defensive guys and they can't play or at least not in the defensive scheme they have now. If they get a high draft pick either draft a player to help that defense or trade the pick.
If u can't draft Lawrence then draft oline or another position u need. I feel like taking any other qb other than Lawrence would be a lateral move as u compare him to Dak. Rebuild your oline and draft a top cover corner back. Maybe look for your next Demarcus Ware also. If u can't draft Lawrence, forget the others and re sign Dak.

Has DeShaun Watson had a top five running game three of the last four years to protect him, with two of those three years having the top runner standing behind him? Not to mention how much better an offensive line he had than DeShaun. Besides, Deshaun plays in the first half and Dak doesn't.

The Cowboys were losing WITH Dak.
8-8 last year, 2-4 as a starter this year.
They were losing with their Ttishy DEFENSE, Dak and the offense scored enough most times.
That's not the point. This year, with him at QB, they were averaging 32 points per game (defense nearly gave up 40). Without him, they've scored 2 touchdowns in 4 weeks. He's not exempt from any blame, but to say that he's the problem is total bogus.
Might as well save some money on the rebuild
