I've been struggling with feeling the lead down and can now see why. I've not been bringing the rod back far enough so the lead is not falling on a tight enough line. Thank you BivvyTV & Alan & Lee, top film
I first saw your channel and thought I already know this, but as I watvh more the more I learn. This is exactly what I want to watch thank you!. Improving basic things and knowledge
feeling for the donk love it! Very good info for new comers to the sport. Excellent showing the rod tip on touch down with the camera aswell. Great 1 guys
Or just when setting up only attach the lead locked at the end of the line. Once happy about where you want to be casting it attach your hook length and bait and away you go.
Or put a dummy rig on with a big hook, you can determine whether a soft landing was silt or weed, a big hook will invariably bring in some silk weed if it's present.
my lake I have to cast tight tight, its so much harder to do it when casting within a foot of a feature at 50-90 yards! I know using a line clip would make it easier, but I never get the same catching ratio when using a clip as it hinders the rig actually going 2-3 foot under the snags or marginal shelf
I agree, does he put his finger on the line just before the lead hits the water? And if so does the line hit the rod with your finger or just a slight grip? Cheers

Lee Jackson - A Master at work 🎣
This is definately a skill i plan to master.
So it's not necessary to use braided line? Great video though guys learned loads
Wicked. Now i understand. Cheers dude
Instead of masking the hook point why not just take the rig off?

Good video great tip!!
where does lee get those leads that hes using from?
Thanks 👍
this is all good but if your fishing to a snag ur
gonna end up pulling your rig 12 foot from where it landed 😂😂😂 thats why u dont always do it
Still can't do it
Cool
Should have explained how you slowed the lead down before it hit the water hence keeping the line tight to feel the donk 🙄
