    Thank god for Max McAllister and for the full range of videos he has posted on the 18-20 Goldwing. As a first time Goldwing Bagger owner all these videos have been an absolute godsend.

    What a great video and thank you so much. Goldwing makers are making the world just a bit harder with the new wings and having to buy everything apart is a pain, but having to put it together is not for everyone. Making mistakes just makes us feel better and shows everyone is human.

      Yep. BMW figured this out for their 1600 and I think the 1250 too. They just have plug plates to cover the mounting area instead of having to have to replace the entire rear tail cover on the Honda.

    I like the concept and will most likely use the easy on/off trunk system, as I prefer a daily sport ride and the ability to tour-up for long rides. I am wondering however, what substance besides plastic is between the four inside bolts and the stainless steel rail.

      The hardware passes through the holes in the floor of the trunk and go into the subframe. From there they pass through and bolt the subframe to our base brackets.

    Hi, Max
    I'm looking for directions to match the pic's of the sub frame you have in the complete relocation and extention kit. For example the "side ears" are removed and new ones are in the kit. Then extention pieces are adding length to the subframe. Where does one cut to get the proper overall length?
    Or will all this direction be coming with the kit I just ordered? Also a vid or update on this would be nice!
    Thanks in advance!!

      You have our complete kit and it comes with a top of the line complete billet aluminum subframe. You won't cut or drill anything. This video was from a long time ago before we made our own subframe.

    How much time should I expect for labor time for a dealership to install the quick release kit if I purchase it from you?

    If I have the plain Goldwing Bagger 2021 and want to add the Honda accessories (Trunk install kit and the "Color kit" will your brackets still work to allow quick"er" release trunk assembly?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  2 роки тому

      Yes, it replaces the entire factory subframe. We don't really have many people opting for the "DIY" subframe modifications anymore. They just buy the bolt up new one.

    Hi I'm Jose
    I have a 2018 Goldwing tour. And I wonder if I could change the topcase for a 2021 version. What would it take?
    Would the original 2018 anchors work to attach the big topcase?
    Thanks for the channel

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Рік тому +1

      Yes, everything is the same up to the subframe under the trunk. You just need to buy the top case and all of its parts. I believe Honda sells it as a complete kit at Honalineaccessories.com .

      Hi
      Honda sells both the topcase and the subframe. But they do not guarantee the 2018 subframe matches.
      If you tell me it does, then I will take teh risk.
      Many thanks

      @@joseramonpardo1771 if you are concerned, you could buy our quick change kit and subframe. I know it fits all years, and you could go back and forth easily if you wanted. Also, you can move the trunk back to make more room for your wife with our kit.

    Max I have heard there might be a issue with the measurements for drilling the holes on the modified brackets. I am half way through modifying my own bracket as I live in the UK. I have dry fitted the universal brackets to the bike and measured from the frame via the modified bracket forward bolt holes to where the holes need to be drilled by lining up the modified bracket to the universal mounting brackets. The measurements of 170 and 208mm from the rear angle of the modified brackets do not now tally. could you please confirm that there could be an issue with the measurements you have supplied and the method of measuring these datum points. I do not want to ruin the bracket rendering it useless at this point before checking with yourself. thanks

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  4 роки тому +1

      We have had 3 out of hundreds that didn't line up using the measurements supplied. It is safest to check with the holes on the stainless brackets before drill just to be 100% safe.

      @@Traxxion Hi Max thank for the prompt reply also via email. I am one of the unlucky customers whose measurements unfortunately do not Tally. I do think you should amend your very clear and comprehensive instructions accordingly if you are still giving customers like myself find it more cost effective to self modify the bracket. I hope you do not take this as a criticism but as it is intended to highlight the potential issue for other customers who may find themselves with the same problem. Keep your products coming thank you

    since I didnt found any vid about how you installed the replacement base bracketry, did you have to move the saddles aside to get those installed?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  4 роки тому +1

      You have to remove bags once... not completely, but almost completely. They need to be completely loose, but still cabled is OK. There are 2 bolts hidden behind each bag, which is what makes it into a 3+ hour project for a professional. Our kit separates that portion of the subframe so that the bike can be fully assembled the and main portion of the subframe comes off with the trunk in just a few minutes.

    Hello Mr.Max
    I have Honda CTX1300 2014 and I’d like to fit goldwind 2018 trunk, it’s possible?
    Your advice plz?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  3 роки тому

      Anything is possible... but it would be a bit expensive. The trunk alone is more than $1500. I couldn't guess what it would take to fit one up. But we'd be happy to take on that project. max@traxxion.com

    There was no reason for Honda to have made that top trunk (and the side cases) so small. It really makes this bike a poor choice for me. Too bad, there is a lot to like.

    Would never spend the all that money for a bracket and transitional cover only to be left with a design that requires 15 minutes or more to remove it or put it back on. Completely ridiculous when you consider H-D has had conversion kits for years for their baggers and even the one on my aging 2008 Ulta allows for a much faster disconnect and reconnect. The new Honda Gold Wing is definitely a much improved bike but there seems to have been little thought focused on insuring flexibility of use.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  4 роки тому +3

      Luckily, in America, you are free to choose how you spend your money. Some people won't ride Harleys. We have scores of customers who's wives won't ride on a Harley, and they have to buy a Goldwing if they want their wife to ride with them.
      Spending ridiculous amounts of money is synonymous with Harley ownership... thus the entire CVO product line.
      Goldwings have been produced since 1975, and it's the #1 selling Touring bike on Earth, bar none, selling more bikes than all other brands combined. In that 45 years of literally owning the Touring bike market, no one has demanded that the trunk be convertible... so it's not a sticking point with Goldwing owners.
      But like I said, it's great we have choices!

    • @bamuscat
      @bamuscat 4 роки тому

      Love the new Goldwing and I would rarely remove the trunk so not a big issue for me, but given the price of the bike a removable trunk should be easily removable. BMW did it the best, insert key into trunk, turn and the handle releases then simply lift trunk off, same with side cases.
