To be 16 and own Madison Garden has to be recognised for life. This album will always stay with me.
I just googled it , and i cant believe it! It's unbelievable to play at such a large stage in the middle of NYC at 16/17. Wow!
hell yeh I was at this show
@@Madmok128that’s crazy! How close were you to the stage?
saw this concert there kinda like aussie inxs band who gave up too soon
It's a shame the band members all had a falling out with Daniel Johns...Ben Gillies (drummer) is still releasing music, as is Johns. Just as different artists.
I still remember listening to Triple J radio here in Australia when Silverchair won the national music band competition.
He was the best singer on that stage that night
This era of Silverchair was amazing!
Best era
They all were. But I get what you’re saying and agree
Fucking true
Yes they lost me after Freak Show
Yes! Their earlier heavier days were definitely their best! 🤘
Frogstomp was a perfect LP!!
Still holds up till this day!
I didn't know it was an LP, thought it was a full studio album
I listen to Frog Stomp and Freak Show everyday, great music doesn't die
@@historyoflol5611 An LP (or Long Play) IS a full studio album
Just got it on Vinyl. And had the CD when it came out. Its genius record
@@historyoflol5611I think you are thinking of E P
Their like 16 years old here. Still can't believe how tight they are as a band.
*they're*
I mean they were just kids here you won't find a tight band full of grown ups unless they're professional....
@@napalm5 oh yeah grammar police got me. I'm sure you feel good about yourself.
@@Easy-cg1it you repeated what I said.
@@blixasice so you can't read...
wow literally just children then... but holy shit that sound....that stage presence that insane energy ...crazy probably one of THE koolest bands in history.
I know right! Like what’s in the milk in Australia… 🤣
I was 15 in 96 😬 one of the best bands ever!
Whatever your view is of silverchair, you can’t deny that the moment Pure Massacre kicks into the loud part is one of the most adrenaline pumping moments one could experience in rock music!
that was a real Lit sound man
As a metalhead who doesn't even like Silverchair (just curious to give them a chance) I gotta admit I didn't expect such a metallic sounding riff from this band.
when an opener is better than a headliner
The Bass and Guitar tones are excellent. Silverchair is locked in super tight here. 16 and 17 years old then. Remarkable!
I never get tired of watching them live!!!!
💯
Criminally underrated band
That riff in madman is mindblowing
It’s totally badass.
So heavy
Such a great drummer!
Ben takes everything on stage seriously. He is the most underrated drummer to ever be.
Always believed Daniel had such a powerful and awesome voice!! 30yrs later I’m still in awe
Still in high school...amazing
Jesus! Ben's drumming in Madman!!! This is an exceptional upload! Thank you so much!
Damn I miss these guys! My first concert was silverchair in April '97 at Arrow Hall in Toronto. We were 13 and it was such a sick show.
My first show was seeing them in November 97 in Australia. I was 11. It was awesome. They had the lights from the freak video behind them on the stage.
Thats freaking awesome!
Madman is still one of the greatest instrumentals
Ahhhh mid 90s, take me back to those times again. Everything is so messed up today :\ Great upload, thanks :)

Does full proshot exist?
@@stewartross13 Not sure :/ This is all my tape has. The soundcheck is really cool, but yea would be nice to have the full show. Sorry I can't help, but maybe it'll pop up someday.....
I wanted to see more 😭❤️
@@AltCopperpot5 No worries man this is awesome, thanks for the upload! That stage is super cool as well.
The improv thingie is actually not an improvisation, it's Black Night by Deep Purple! :)
How the hell was this a quarter of a century ago..... ?
Time flies......
Oh ha ha..yeah.🙃
Oh lord. Don’t remind me. I was there that night and 15.
I was 14 and remember seeing in a pamphlet from MSG that the RHCP and Silverchair were playing and I didn’t have the money nor was old enough to attend! So seeing footage now, specially the soundcheck…woooow! Thank you for posting!
I'm loving that Korn decal on Daniel Johns' guitar.
I never got to see silverchair in concert as I first started going to rock concerts AFTER the silverchair era was over. I remember how much I really really wished I could go to a silverchair concert. All these years later, seeing these youtube videos of late frogstomp and early freakshow era live footage help to fills the void of the era when I really really wanted to see silverchair in concert but couldn't.
Daniel is one year younger than me and I was 17 here and that fascinated me with respect but the actual reason I loved and still love the records today is how good the music is, Daniel did hard rock the best, this band was fkn awesome, from the lead to the drums to the bassist, I think Ben and Chris always got looked over, although Daniel is a genius it's them all together that made such a great band
The best Silverchair era
Makes me remember all this period ! Thanks a lot.
Excellent! You always have the best stuff. Thanks man.
THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH...THIS IS GOLD!!!
Soundcheck sounds so good. Pop song for us rejects is so good
loved this. thank you for posting it.
Thanks for posting this! Wonderful! ❤️👏🏻
Oh yesss!! Thanks so much for uploading this!!
thanks for the upload, i've been looking for the complete video for so long
Thank you so much for the upload! Good times that will be cherished forever 💜
Hearing them jam Deep Purple made my day!
Which song is it? I'd love to know, it sounds great
@@vavacadoz black night by deep purple, great track:)
@@justsomebloke460 Thank you!
This is GOLD. Thanks for uploading.
Absolutely great! Thank you and thanks, internet!
Another GREAT job! Thanks a lot :)
Back when they rocked. I get the musical journey but it still saddens me to no end.
[Obligatory bands have to change can’t stay doing the same thing forever it would get old comment]
@@ShinyFlakesShinyFlakes nah, what about ACDC, the rolling stones. The truth is Johns became a poser.
@@brownsworthy7323 Poser? the dude was sick of being compared to Cobain's songwriting and took the songwriting to the next stage. Deal with it
@@Rodrigombia1990 I grew up down the road from him same age know them all Ben and Chris stayed pretty humble Daniel didn't. If you know you know...deal with it
@@brownsworthy7323 Honestly it wouldn't matter. They could release a new rock album and the radio will play the song for 2 days before going back to just playing something off Frogstomp as its Silverchair for the day.
Thanks man!!! Excellent !!!
Que tesouro essa postagem!🔥🔥🔥
Madman is one of my all time favs. Still in constant rotation! Thanks for putting this in here!
I've been wanting to see this footage since 96! Bravo!
Great post, have never seen this footage. So good!
Thank You for sharing this !!!!
So happy to find this! I only was able to find the one song from the Madison Square garden show. Thank you!
I was there. I was 15. What a show!! I remember it like it was yesterday.
they also were 15 but they were killing it on the stage
Muito Obrigado! Por compartilhar esse show. É Demaisss!!!❤🔥
Wow...pop song for us rejects 🤟🤟🤟 very nice footage. Thanks a lot.
singing and playing like this at one time is crazy
'Pure Massacre' sounded amazing! The whole thing was cool, though... Thanks a million!
Loved 'Pop song for us rejects', as well.
These guys rocked, prob saw them a dozen or so times back in the day, they put on a great show.
Shame it came to an end so quick., but it was good while it lasted
Well you gotta think they were 13-15 when frogstomp was made and when they toured so it probably took a toll on em
@@jinxx3744 guess. But they changed their entire style for absolutely no reason. They also weren't 13-15 lol. He was 16-17. Young aa hell and impressive but big difference
Amazing! Thanks
This is amazing
Thanks for upload this video🔥
This is quality ! There first couple albums were awesome
Just thinking about the massive amount of natural born ability these three had to be able to be this damn tight after only 3-4 years of playing. Not to mention to write their own songs after maybe a year! Will forever and always be amazing.
Great footage man! thanks for uploading
Man this is my adolescence era!!! Thanks very very much !!! Keep doing this !!!! Greaaaaaaaat Job !!! 🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨
Gold!! Absolutely gold footage!!!
And the Korn sticker on the PRS!!
Ha! ☠️🤠
thanks for posting this is awesome
Amazing, thank you.
Thanks for this recall
Suicidal Dream was always a great track
Que nostalgia! Saudade , sentimento bom me sentir nos anos 90. Eu era apenas um garotinho de 10 anos quando conhecí essa preciosidade chamada Silverchair !
Holy shit this is a gem
Wow this is great footage! Amazing to think they were all @17 years old here.
in fact, based on the date of the show, they were still 16 years old 🥺
Yeah all still 16 here. Daniel April 22 and the others in October and November.
Thank you for posting
Thank you so much, this is pure gold
Your YT Profile Picture is a mockery of Our Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of your intentions, and is therefore doing the work of Satan. Not trying to anger, just being honest because where we end up when we die is for all eternity (most souls go to Hell). Hope you change your YT Profile Picture, Peace!
Muito obrigado. Esperei muito por um dia ver esse show.
prolly one of most tightest young bands I’ve ever heard
Tks, for posting this!
Thanks a lot for this
This is so primo! Love this era!
This is gold!
Ive wanted to see this since I was 16 and they aired the MTVNews segment with a snippet from the show… amazing CPT 🙏!
Uyyy, esto es lo que necesitaba 🖤
amazing!!
Thought the tape to this show was lost to time. Incredible!
Uma raridade! Obrigado por compartilhar!
Increíble,me transportó !!!
Awesome thanks.
How cute, seeing them all kind of tense playing the opening of Red Hot...
I was there as a 15 yr old teenager...man,it was amazing show,im like woooaaa they were good,oh,remind me of my GF..nostalgic
Man this just took me back to best times of my life
26:11 That's Bachman-Turner Overdrive - You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet. Loved it. These kids had a great taste in music.

@Dara Sena 😏Vc só gosta do SilverChair só por causa do Daniel Jhons né?
@@salesmedeiros6929 Claro que sim! Eu sou fã dele e não da banda! Tem algum problema? 🙄

Se ele fosse FEIO eu duvido q vc fosse fã
To me Daniel is so fucking underrated for his Guitar playing and riff writing
I remember buying Frogstomp in 1995 as a 14 year old. Read their interviews in various guitar magazines. Frogstomp is still Silver hairs finest work IMHO. About 3 years ago when I began playing Bass the first bassline (song) I learned from start to finish was Tomorrow. Their music is still an inspiration to me. As it is to countless others.
Great video!!! thanks!!
Omg ty for posting this, I thought you had been gone
One of favorite albums! 🤟🙌💪
very good. Thanks
Glad I found this ! Thanks for sharing, man !! Btw , I read earlier today that the members of Silverchair are reuniting.. Let’s hope !!💯🎸🔥
Will never happen unfortunately
Imagine being 16 or 17 and opening for the Chili Peppers at MSG!!
This is going to be amazing rock @ New York City memories!!!
Thnks 4 this
This is awesome wish this guy would have continue to play rock music and also didnt delete that stoner record he supposedly recorded
The album he deleted was heavier than all of the others. It was going to be instead of Diorama.
This guy is Daniel Johns an Aussie icon
