- We are spending a few days in Roquefort, it's a village that Mike wanted to go to so that he could visit the cheese making factory or maybe the caves where the famous cheese is matured. While there, we have a bit much to eat at lunch time and visit the historic village centre,
Mikes face when he found he was in the wrong Roguefort 😂. At least he got some cheese

"The Roquefort Files" (I LOVED that show!) and Trish's dubious look into the camera on the splash screen cracked me up! I'd have said that Trish is always right when you were talking about about architectural periods. but then she didn't take the leftover pizza (it's for breakfast! you eat it cold, and it's delicious!) AND said that blue cheese is not good, so she's clearly not always right! :) Lovely video. Thanks for taking us along.
We loved that show as well, James Garner, we thought it was a good pun, but I don't think many people got it. Yep, pizza ans blue cheese proves that I am right sometimes 👍🐾💕
The staff in the boulangerie were lovely. Had a giggle about the cheese and the 13 places with the same name 😂 Lovely church, we like to look around the villages and enjoy the local places 🚐👍🏻💙 Trev n Sue
Yes the staff were really good, they thought it quite funny that we thought the cheese was from there. 👍💕🐾
Great idea having the diary! I’m of the age where I remember The Rockford Files with the lovely James Garner! I’m not a fan of smelly cheese but that pizza looked delicious! Safe travels!

Another enjoyable episode. Like Tricia, I'm not a Blue Cheese lover. A good strong tasty cheddar, crusty bread and some red onion is more my style. Happy and safe travels. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks George, I also love cheddar, we asked if they had it at a market and the guy said no, they only use that for cooking in France. I think our cheese in the UK is every bit as good as theirs👍💕🐾
We really enjoyed this video. Made my French wife scratch her head for a bit, before realising that it wasn't the right Roquefort. I didn't have a clue where the "real" place was, even if I enjoy that cheese (with more of a preference for creamier Saint Agur... Please don't ask me where that is! LOL).

@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot We once stayed at a converted priory in a village called Croutes, near Camembert.
Croute in English is crust. Like the white crust on a Camembert. It was supposed to be a romantic weekend. But it was in February, the heating didn't work and so we had to sleep fully clothed with our coats on. 😂
We also ate at a restaurant where all the courses were made with Camembert in, even the dessert (Camembert ice cream).

Today some authentic Roqueforts are made in Corsica, but all still undergo final aging in the limestone caves of Roquefort near Toulouse in southern France, where the cool and humid atmosphere promotes growth of the mold Penicillium roqueforti.

Hi Diana, yes it was a huge lunch, we don't normally have so much at lunch time but we were hungry that day. I got my cheese so a result at the end of the day 👍💕🐾

The place to go for the Roquefort cheese is the cheese caves at Roquefort-sur-Soulzon - about 230 miles east of where you were!

Talking about Arbroath Smokies. I had an argument with my brother in law, that in the highlands of Scotland and even further South, you couldn't buy Cod from a proper fish n' chip shop. I personally have never found one yet that sells cod n' chips, only Haddock, because that's all the fish in fish n' chip shops, that Scots eat ?
There are a some that do cod, which for me is by far the best fish for a proper fish 'n 'chips. Unfortunately they are pretty few and far between.
Sorry about the cheese mix up would have fun to see the cave. Still good video safe travels.

Oh my gosh pizza makes the best leftovers ever! Here in the US we eat it for breakfast. Even cold! 🤗 I can't believe you wasted that delicious homemade pie!

Hi Janice, no, all the ones that we have used had electric hook up, and you don't need an adapter now, you can just plug your cable straight in like on a uk site.

Well that was a bit of a disappointment but with a side of hilarity. There's this thing called the Internet and a tool called Google and its quite useful for finding out about places, such as Roquefort 😂😂😂😂. So where is the Roquefort that you wanted to visit? I have to say the lunch looked amazing but the quantity put me off my shreddies. Happy travels. BTW we finally have summer back home 😊
Well yes maybe I should have looked it up but I just assumed that Roquefort was the home of Roquefort cheese but no, it's one of the other Roquefort's Maybe we will head to Camembert instead 🤣👍🐾💕
