That green foil is 1 in 58 blasters. That's dang near 1.5 cases. 58 blasters at $25 each is $1,450 and that's without taxes. Good lord. Jumbo is definitely the way to go. Thanks for sharing your rip and good luck in your next video 👊
I like what they've done with retail odds. Nice to know kids will have a chance to buy new product because it'll actually be available on the shelves. Most adult collectors can afford a hobby and or jumbo box, and they'll get the cards they want out of them. Getting these younger kids hooked will be good for the hobby going forward.
Like one comment says this isn't 3 years ago when there was nothing anywhere to find but now every Wal-Mart I go to is full of cards. I just think it's a terrible idea for them to trash retail
Topps announced that going ahead they’re going to be cutting opening day, Fire and Gallery. Between the odds increase and cuts I’d say fanatics are deliberately killing off retail
I can’t believe how hard it is to pull anything good from retail. Might go back to Update or stick with hobby, but what’s crazy is out of 2 hangers, my brother hit a Jose Altuve home field advantage. Crazy stuff. But hey man thanks for the videos and good luck on your upcoming rips.
@lsumaniac2485 Don't know about you but I just bought one box to try it out. Got orange foil, Wright/Urias/Darvish, 001/299. That counted something right?
I will probably wait for the retail to go on clearance at the stores. Then, I will try to get some cards to complete the set with the best cards I can put in my set. All I can say dumb move by Topps. Thanks for the video again, and good luck to all it might not get any better.
I’m still snatching up all the 22 update I see still, not even touching 23 series 1. Just grabbed 3 update blasters last night & pulled a Royce Lewis SSP & Witt Jr HFA. Can’t beat it
Well, that was better than my blasters, two things of note, you pulled a card /499, not out of /299. Also about the autos in blasters, for the most part you're right, it's no non relic autos. But, for the manufacturer relics, you can get autos 1: about 6,000😅😅😅
Absolutely there is, I recommend going to Google and searching 2023 topps series one variation guide. Beckett does a very good job explaining all the variations in the set
No retail for me. If I want a set I'll wait for factory sets. May get a couple Jumbos...one to open and one to hold to possibly offset the jumbo I open.
Thank you for the rip Mr. Maniac! I bought the exact same thing at Meijer! I got me an Emmanuel clase/199, two chrome stars mlb acuna and albies! What are the odds of that! And the big one! A father's day Pete Alonzo! Not bad I would say. Sorry about your luck. I am buying retail only because I am not a set builder.
I've seen too many video's of retail this year where not a darn thing was pulled. It's sad, really. I got my 2 jumbo and 1 hobby and that's it for me. I'll get singles and such. Maybe if they got rid of the Topps flip it would be worth it lol.
@michaelhernandez2840 The best way is to go to ebay and filter it out to sold listing and search it thay way. You can also use a website called 130point.com and search it that way
A theory to why Topps didn't put some of the good stuff in retail is to eliminate the "flipper" business. It made it not fair to the true collectors and card sellers that love the hobby. My intentions was to buy a jumbo but I wasn't impressed with the results with the breaks I watched. It had the autos and parallels but no big names. I ended up buying opened box regular hobby packs from my local shop at $4 a pack. Pulled an SSP (Mahle) and a Salvador Perez redemption. Autos to relic patch cards pulled in hobby boxes is almost 50/50. Then I bought 3 retail hangar boxes and one of them had an Adley Rutschman "Home Field Advantage" (case hit) card. I couldn't believe it. Retail is not that good for the most part but you never know.
@@frankgrimes591 The hype is kinda over anyway but they don't think it is. It kinda should be that way having the big hits in the more expensive products. Just the hobby prices need to drop. They do need to throw the occasional auto or parallel in retail from a notable athlete.
@@lonardgetchell-bm9lc average collectors are suffering through kids and adults who think a real job is flipping - and who are encouraged by hype channels on UA-cam - and only the smart successful flippers will put away money / plan for retirement / insurance, etc.

Fans/Topps took a page from Panini playbook put the so called good stuff in hobby and dont care about retail so they can jack up the hobby boxes for more.
I'd be ok with the harder odds if they lowered the prices but at the current cost it's pretty disappointing. I'm curious if the odds to Series 2 will be different. BJ's Wholesale Club has hangers and blasters on sale for $9 and $19 and that makes the hanger odds closer to hobby, particularly the parallels (blasters are so bad this year that they're still not worth it at a discounted price).
Man, that's rough. And you asked why the Golds are now 1:99 packs? It's because Topps/Fanatics printed this stuff to the moon. I mean, are you kidding me with these odds? Some are ridiculous. For example, the odds of pulling an All-Aces Platinum are 1: 3,105,561. That right there should tell you all you need to know. They might as well not even print out the odds for that card and just in its place put "Impossible". Hope your next rip is much better than that was.
They've watered it down so much that I don't plan on buying any which is very unfortunate especially coming off of one of the best releases in recent memory with the update hangers
Well at least they left all the turned around cards....only thing similar to past releases. I wont buy a single box of retail this year, and usually I would spend several hundred a year on retail....guessing I am not the only one.
MLB played themselves by only giving one brand to allow their logos on. Once the fans realize that anything in this set will be worthless unless it is numbered, they will stop paying attention to cards and then the game and focus on basketball and football. MLB needs to let Panini get a license so they can create competition with Topps. Short term greed is gonna get em.
