It isn't often we get a chance to see a major movie filmed exclusively in Blighty. It was so bizarre to see so many familiar places that you've actually been in, in such an unusual setting. Every time I cross that bridge, I remember that scene in the beginning. A deservedly iconic and uniquely British film.
28 days later had such a beauty to it. Destroyed beauty. Amazing music too. The infected had such a monstrous demonic quality about them instead of the wholly scientific undead look of most zombie movies.
The two films both have unique qualities to them, they are both forever some of my all time favourite films, both from a artistic standpoint and just a entertainment one
Man it was nice hearing your guys' recollection of watching this in the theaters. I was sadly too young for my parents to let me see this when it came out (maybe letting a 5-year old watch this would've been a bad idea, after all) , and I didn't really know about this until 28 Weeks Later came out and I was itching to watch more!
To someone who may have noticed, the film might be a like an religious/Christian allegory story of a young guy (Jim or Jesus) re-awakening after an NDE; waking up and seeing hell, going through many trials n tests in that hell, before being saved or bringing salvation. (Depending on which ending u like most). Also the hooded mother crying in the tv screens in the lab could be seen as Mary crying out...
Yo dudes, my first time watching this was in college... I read online about it's UK release and downloaded a bootleg of it. My dorm mates and I saw it before so many Americans, so that was cool!
6:30 Its so weird when americans think the whole world has the same national events like they do, like their independence day or 911 when in reality noone else even know about these other than they.
@lukeysharp94 9/11 definitely sent waves around the world, I was a child in the uk at the time maybe 7 or 8 years Old and I still remember hearing about it
I like that you guys mentioned the walking dead hospital scene comparison! Also anyone heard about 28 years later getting green lighted? Not sure if it's fake news but I'm keeping my hopes up 😅
Really enjoyed your retrospective and looking forward to watching more but I just have one little thing that I'm sure other people have pointed out but Cillian Murphy's name is pronounced Killian. KILL, KILL, KILL-I-AN Murphy. I twitched every time you said his name! Still great overview!
This film shouldn't have worked. The budget was small. The actors apart from gleeson were still fairly small time at this point. Danny Boyle had never directed horror, he had football factory under his belt so clearly competent but horror is different. It needed whole sections of one of the most busy cities in the western world to look quiet. So many locations for such a small budget. Camera quality is intentionally poor. And yet.... and yet.... it is one of the best horror movies made without a doubt.
Enjoy your retro reviews but please be aware Americans can't do English accents. Your attempt at a 1900's London accent is aural abuse. Keep up the good work though guys.
Yeehaw partner! Circle them there wagons, sit ‘round a camp fire eating beans before shooting the sheriff. Can’t wait to visit and meet the cowboys! lol
Sorry, but we mispronounced Cillian's name. Garbage hosts we are.
every time you said "Sillian" I said "Killian"
@@facehairteeth You were quite busy then. haha. Over the years, all my friends and I have always said it the wrong way. oops.

You are lucky! That has to be awesome to be in those areas. Hopefully, that shit never happens there. haha

Great video, thank you.
Glad you liked it!

Return of the Living Dead had running "zombies" back in 1984.
Fun fact the priest didn't have the virus. He just did too many confessions that day and couldn't deal with humanity anymore
😂
Lmao
Directo: “ok, Now you have to cry!!!”
Actor: “why?! Why?! I haven’t even read the script, what’s my motivation?.”
This was hilarious 😆😆😆😆
I just watched the alien reviews 🤣 you guys are hilarious with the coke jokes.
Pure Colombia coca!! = Movie Magic and amazing wrestling promos!

Christopher Eccleston is the first doctor on the doctor who reboot
I wish I experienced enough quiet to be creeped out about where everyone's at! 🤣Another awesome one guys!!
LOL! No quiet for you ever! Thanks! 😮
@@blabbercast thumbs down lol😝
You have no idea what it would do to your brains.

Nice !!
26:20 I wonder if that inverted cross is purposely subliminals.
Frank did not deserve that fate!
Sad face!!
Agreed!
I openly wept in the theater when Frank got infected...........true story.
Miss ya, Dad!
Great name Cameron

That’s not true at all. Everyone knows about 9/11 because it was all over the news channels worldwide. Even people born after the event know about it.
I don't know, I think it's fair to say 9/11 changed the rest of the world forever
@lukeysharp94 9/11 definitely sent waves around the world, I was a child in the uk at the time maybe 7 or 8 years Old and I still remember hearing about it
You think 9/11 wasn't big news ON 9/11? 😅
@@IRL_Lore it wasnt. I remember in hungary it was a basic news aired once and thats it. Noone cared really.

Great points. Amazing, they pulled it off and made it so good.
One point i believe the walking dead comic came out before this movie and this movie took that hospital opening from there
I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info!
Thats absolute tosh, 28 days came out like a year before walking dead..
28 Days Later - release 2002
Walking Dead Comic - 2003
It’s not zombies it’s an infection of rage
tis true
