saw him in the festival. he was excellent , did readings directly from his journal and did a book signing, really friendly guy to talk to and always the joker. instead of just signing my book he drew a characature of me vomiting saying "this'll be you at the end of the night". definitely a highlight of the festival.
Wonderful stuff. I came to David Sedaris late in my life having been brought up on half a century's worth of great British humourous writing. I love his stories and hearing him read them so skilfully is a delight. Congratulations to you David for passing the "Life in the UK" test.
+Tony Suffolk +Tony Suffolk The BBC's meet david Sedaris, made me find his wonderful writing and speaking, so thanks to the BBC for that! I love how he makes everyday interactions we all have sparkle with new wit and perspective! We are lucky that he has put down roots in England long may he stay and hopefully The BBC make more use of the talent that is now in our country.
Every time David comes to town, we go to his lovely show. He is so delightful in every way. We would like to invite him to dinner. I hope that isn't creepy.
I saw him when he did a reading in Chicago about 5 years ago. He was so humble, he said if we wanted to purchase a book, buy a copy of some new author's book - forgotten his name, rather than his book. Marvelous. He is much kinder, sweet and absolutely adorable in person.
Tadzio5050 WHERE WAS DAVID WHEN HIS YOUNGEST SISTER DIED OF SUICIDE? HE AND HIS LOVER OWN MILLION DOLLAR HOMES AROUND THE WORLD, HIS SISTER DIED IN A ROOMING HOUSE LIVING IN SQUALOR.
S C and he's written and talked about her mental health and family estrangement repeatedly before, and after, her death. Is your question rhetorical and its your way of taking a dig at him, or do you not know how to Google something?
this is all about this womans profession and not abooot his which is quite fine, they both need to eat. i still however dont like the english outside of a bar room
A very funny man interviewed by someone who gets him. Lovely.
great interview - making Sedaris laugh is priceless
Never saw it before
David Sedaris is a genius - he doesn't know it, he certainly doesn't contemplate the possibility but he's most certainly a genius!

The discovery of David Saderis is a lasting treasure. Thank You, David. X
How lovely are Sue Perkins and David Sedaris together?
It's that big gay energy
I hope these two are great friends now.

He really is amused by her - rarely does he belly laugh like that in interviews.
Love both these people and what a joyous interview. Shame it wasn’t longer!!!
I wish their interview was longer.
I absolutely love Sue and David!!!
I was so lucky to get to see David Sedaris this past April when he was touring. He's so funny!

That was a great interview!. They were so in sync.
That was delightful - thank you!
I knew these two would be a good, interesting pairing. They seem to enjoy each other's company.
Hey Sue, love you on The Great British Baking Show!
you made david crack up 3 times, good for you. or well done as they say over there.
Don't people say well done in the states?!
@@funkysteveve yes, but not as a catch phrase.
We say well done about meat
@@diogesesmore9874 well done.
BTW, Loved the video! After seeing it I looked for more David Sedaris videos. And, Sue Perkins videos too! Thanks for posting it.
what a lovely dynamic
yes, i like his reading style
I envy Hugh. David, you are so cute.
I would walk across broken glass to see David Sedaris.
I did. He inspired me to walk back over it
This man is brilliant
Like his whole act is just gradually evolution if what he was comfortable with, not something he designed from the top down its has to be like this.
I love how he actually had to stop and think about if he wrote about what his sister did in the picnic area.
Legends.
Love Sue Perkins and David Sedaris both.
HE'S WEARING THE SAME TIE IN THE CLIP AS IN THE INTERVIEW
Well he's got a pretty long term partner as far as I remember so presumably SOMEONE does.
Sue Perkins is a funny cutiepie in her own right :-)
Yeah she really tickles my instincts :P
A wise & funny man. Salute!
I love David Sedaris, but I think the trade for Christopher Hitchens and Craig Ferguson was a good one.
You and maybe, Hugh.
Yes. But I do like him very much.
He has O.C.D.. I don't know about dating him, but I'm sure you could get him to clean your yard. He does that stuff, really.
How come this is under the 'Autos & Vehicles' category?
I did not know... And then I did.
@1985drd no...you're not.
He has been with his partner Hugh for 20 years so dating you is on the cards.

I'm sure Hugh does. Most of us just think he's adorable.
The problem with American English is one can't tell the difference between 'Merry' and 'Married'
I thought he said I'm small and I'm married!
He is..lol.
God NOOO he could have me if he played his cards right.
No, you're not the only person in the world who thinks he's sexy.
Snowball never liked you David
🤣🤣🤣
I imagine Hugh does
The British have "those teeth" and Sue Perkins.
If you're going to interview David Sedaris, *learn to pronounce Sedaris* FFS
Oh God! I thought his horrid woman was only on that baking show. Poor David Sedaris.
Being not gay, I find Sue Perkins more appealing. Sadly, I believe Sue is gay so I'll to watch this for the humor.
Stop. Moving the camera. Isn't she funny?

HWHAHAHA i disliked >=)
Oh great, two people I can't stand
