I think the point of greed mode was that the challenge simulates an idle clicker game. So you click enemies to get money to click enemies better, like an idle game you click to get money to improve the clicking and get more money
With all the passive damage from familiars and stuff, it's like an idle game where you buy things that make money for you without you having to click.
Pretty sure that was what they were going for, though it's still interesting to point out since I didn't realize it until I read your comment.

Completing this challenge should unlock an item called Carpal Tunnel
Your clicks only damage every two clicks but more dmg?
Repeatedly tapping fire allows you to bypass your tear rate
Wouldn’t that just be spamming with chocco milk? How about you can bypass the tear rate thing, and the faster you spam the fire button, the faster and higher damage the shots are

clicking on enemies will have a decent chance to spawn a golden cookie
it will either
- boost your damage by x7 till the end of the room OR 15 seconds
- give you 5 coins which slowly deplete
- deal massive damage to every enemy in the room
it also has a lower chance to spawn a wrath cookie which can either
- do any of the effects mentioned above
- deal up to two whole hearts of damage
- lose you 10 coins
- instantly kill every enemy in the room

You should do some challange runs,for example play tainted lost with perma curse of the blind.
It took me this long to figure out the little dancing guys were replacements for money~
On controller you can just revolver combo the face buttons or twirl the stick to make the clicker click reaaaaaally fast.

you need a mouse with an auto click button, for your wrist health, not to cheat

Going to pass on the clicker part. Even in gungeon I don’t tap shoot weapons even if it does more damage. Hurts my hand to much.
did you forget how blindfold works? cause like shooting familiars have always been really good on blindfold challenges

I thought the same thing but you wouldnt be able to use WASD to move, the arrow keys to make the familiars shoot and the mouse to attack at the same time (unless you have 3 hands)
