No word on the assembly of the pedals and drive system? A demonstration of the car would've been nice too.

@@nabri-nfg3262 I thought it was like push (leaner) pedals not rotational. I believe the crank is on the rear wheel and there is long rods between the pedals and the crank.

I was born early 90s and played with peddle cars that belonged to my grandparents, who then got me my own.

Yo dummy the Morgan 3-wheeler which was the inspiration for this trike is still available. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS.
The pedal cars originally sold for about $2.6K in 2008. There was one at auction in the US that sold for $4.2K in 2020.
gonna build me a homemade one for my niece for christmas. this video got me all energized to start the project.

@@carllinden533 ha! never happened. we got a snowstorm that generated seven foot deep drifts and my tractor died in the middle of the driveway. I spent all of december trying to get it running again.
When I was a kid I had one of those little plastic cars. I can only imagine the type of rich children in these things. I imagine they all wear fancy little suits and have memberships to the country club.
My grandparents had several that where hand built like the ones shown here. granted I was born before everyone's greed of reselling. They had 2 that they had since children, and 5 that they bought for grandkids. Found the receipts they only paid I think 300 each in the 90s from local builder.

You could buy a real car for what they cost.
I think if a scooter 🛵 or motorcycle company built something similar. Using an aerodynamic weather enclosure with removable hard top & added a 250cc engine. So it could cruise along at 65mph & get 70+,mpgs and sell em new for like $6,000....That they could sell a ton.... It'd be cheap, practical, reliable, fun to drive, low maintenance, could be used year round & safer than a motorcycle. Either gas engine or 120V AC standard 🔌 plug-in electric.
I wish I wasn't sick and build one myself. Then when people ask me about it. I'd tell them everything it can do & tell them I'd sell it for $6,000 & see how many people want to buy one.
Imagine popping a wee electric motor in that, that'd be fun haha

Full sized, road registerable Morgan 3 wheelers are still in limited production, (or where until c.2020, just haven't seen anything more recently).
They're stupid for not adding a removable hardtop & windshield & a few other mods. So it could actually be used as a daily driver = more practical = more incentive to buy one. To save money on gas and cost of a new car.
If a 🛵 scooter,motorcycle or car company built something similar. They could sell a ton= reliable, low cost, fun to drive, practical commuter, 70+ mpgs.

well, that's not so hard to accomplish, actually I've probably never worn gloves for woodworking. I don't recall ever having a splinter either.

@@sheilaolfieway1885I don't know of any bicycles that use a steering wheel, nor any that have TWO front wheels, linked by a set of steering linkages etc. BI-cycles have two wheels, TRI-cycles have three. So, not like a bike at all.

That Morgan Pedal car looks more adult size , l could do with one of those . As l had to send my diving licence back due to having siezures , lm sure l could drive this without a driving licence 👍

Morgan have been making "modern" versions of their 3 wheelers for several years, at least up until recently. Not cheap though.

I believe there is an instructables page online on how to make a pedalcar, but probably not THIS pedalcar. Just saying in case someone wants to know.
They should do away with the fake engine and exhaust pipes and add speakers and an iPod.

if that was me I would put 2 hub motors on the front rims, make storage cases in front and back, and have a snap on convertible top.

There is though Morgan discontinued the version we saw built because S&S discontinued building the engines... I think they just release a new one but its powered by a watercooled engine now
@@cheetahjabBut the Morgan is a real car, not a pedal car. And they are also hugely expensive, being hand built and in limited numbers. Various kit cars also exist, but again... not pedal powered.

Children's pedal cars aren't generally classed as velomobiles, although, depending on the drive train, they may have a lot in common. Recumbent 'Delta' tricycles and velomobiles usually have front wheels positioned further back.

Velocars were popular in the late 1940s, but they died off as proper cars gained popularity.
The main issue with them is that you're way down low and can't be seen by Karen in her SUV, so she drives right over you.
@@SkorpychanThis isn't a "velocar", it's a pedal powered tricycle. You're talking rubbish about being too low to be seen. Morgans aren't that low, certainly no lower than many sports cars like a typical Ferrari or a Lotus. But then potholes are low down, road markings and tree branches lying in the road are low down... yet drivers see them. As a former owner of a Caterham 7, which is very small and low down, I never had any problems being seen. As a recumbent tricycle rider, being much lower than any of these, I have far fewer problems with cars than when I ride on "normal" bikes. Quite the opposite.Drivers NOTICE it. Stop spreading rubbish based on ignorance.

i don't see why electric motors could be added to this to make them like e-bikes.
Electrically assisted recumbent tricycles exist. Depending on the drive train (and the local laws) it might be possible to alter one of these pedal cars.
Built for luxury, not for speed.
Small leather seat with backrest that cannot be adjusted, no headrest, open air with no roof, no air conditioning, smaller windshield than the infotainment screen on your economy car is luxury to you? Don’t forget about having to do the moving work of pedalling yourself and not having an engine to do it for you.

BTW, the Morgan 3 wheeler was reintroduced and production finished in 2021, so the adult version is out there.

The placement of the decorative engine make no sense whatsoever!
It's styled after the original Morgan 3 wheeler car. The engine is placed there on the original because it's air cooled
American pedal cars were too small for kids to fit in….their popularity tanked.
