Many are called to hear the gospel but few are chosen to believe it.
Mankind, unregenerated isn’t spiritual sick as some false teachings explain, but spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1, Ephesians 2:5, Colossians 2:13, Romans 8:10). A dead person cannot choose GOD, Salvation from beginning to end is a complete work of the triune GOD, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Salvation is purposed by the Father, accomplished by the Son, and applied by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is crystal clear, in our unregenerated state, we are enemies of GOD (Romans 8:7) it is not a matter of not wanting to come to GOD, rather we are unable, GOD must regenerate our dead spirit, changing us to desire Him…Amazing Grace…how sweet the sound!

Amazing teaching, I believe God in heaven was the God of this world. It says the god of this world has blinded the eyes. It’s preached that it’s satan is the God of this world. The earth is the lord and the fullness thereof. Jesus blinded the Jews also in the Old Testament he said he would blind them. God gives the seeing eye and hearing ear. There’s only one GOD, and satan would be the prince of the air. He blinds less They would see and repent and be healed.
Ok, I am fully with you on the truth of sovereign-election. It is too expressly taught in scripture for me to deny. Mr. Lawson states that the sheep Jesus foreknew as His own and calls by name, "FOR THEM He died" .So, Mr. Lawson is hereby CLEARLY defining "THE GOSPEL" which is the proclamation of the atoning death, burial and resurrection of Christ, to be that good news that Jesus died FOR the elect. No other way to interpret his statement. Can the WHO be divorced from the WHY of the cross? No, it cannot. He also states that it is "RANK HERESY" to claim all that is meant by foreknowledge is that God looked down the corridor of time, acquired new information He did not already possess about the response of each person to Christ. Strong words. So is RANK HERESY merely a "blessed inconsistency" as the late R C Sproul used to say? IF it is rank heresy to argue that election is based on what God foreknew WE would choose, as ALL ARMINIANS CLAIM, thereby gaining new information He did not prior possess as ALL OPEN THEIST ARMINIANS CLAIM, yet Ligonier calls those who hold to this view "brothers in Christ", who are saved by a "blessed inconsistency", then who cares? one way or the other? Does Ligonier therefore hold that those who HATE the doctrine of particular redemption, vehemently deny it, who Lawson says hold to RANK HERESY, are nevertheless saved? If so, who cares? There is no single doctrine more divisive than the truth of sovereign-election. If God is going to commend those who despise His sovereignty in election, who despise and deny that Christ loved and gave Himself FOR the church alone, who He purchased with His own blood, then who cares one way or the other? If God is going to commend John Wesley saying "Well done thou good and faithful servant", though Wesley spent his entire "ministry" denying, debating and rejecting these things, then WHY would God raise up Johnathon Edwards, C H Spurgeon, Calvin, or Agustine? Because who cares? If those on the other side of the fence who attack, deny and despise the truth and believe this doctrine is of satan, are saved regardless and will l be commended by God when they stand before Him, then the ENTIRE division in "Christendom" over this highly divisive doctrine of election/predestination is ultimately and utterly inexcusable. So which is it? Heretics who despise and deny the truth are saved by a "blessed inconsistency"? In which case, what difference does heresy make and who cares? OR, "My sheep know MY voice", the "Holy Spirit will lead you into ALL truth" and those who by grace alone, embrace the truth which is inseparably linked to the "gospel" are saved because they believe the gospel?
Is there a distinguishing of 2 classes? 1. Those You have given me. 2. Those who will believe through their message. V 20, 21.
I've wondered that. Great question.
I believe (and Im not trying to start a debate) that those who will believe through their message (those who preach the gospel) are ones that have been given. That is my understanding. But I would suggest listening to many sermons and studying. If you go to a reformed church, talking with your pastor too. These are the things I have done to come to the understanding I have. No false strawman..
Obviously ALL who come to Him have been given Him by the Father in history. But He specifically prays for those disciples who dropped all to follow Him during His life that would become His witnesses. Then their writings will be miraculously preserved through the ages to be read and some who read believe (the purpose John said he was writing) by the Holy Spirit.
It is very plainly written.
@@krystalgoin He clearly prays for his disciples first, the only living believers at that time. Then He prays for those who believe thru their message, otherwise no one would.
@@krystalgoin The pastor is a great start. but you have to take it to the Lord in prayer and have your own relationship with Him. No humans word is good. Only his. First we must be born of the spirit to understand the writings. Only then will you have a relevant accurate answer to give others. Mormons catholics and all are religious systems rely on other men to have their relationship with God. The BIBLE says it is thru Christ by the Holy Spirit alone.

Why did God create humans that have no chance to enter Heaven?
Without punishment grace and forgiveness are worthless.
Why do you think God is unjust is the real question? What does he owe you? And why do you want heaven and not Him?
every person has the same chance or right to CHOOSE to follow the Law. God is not unjust. It is written, if a man follows the works of the law, he will LIVE by them.
But we have ALL become like an unclean thing, and like the wind our sins have driven us away from him.

I guess the simple answer would be: because God wanted it that way. Or...it just doesnt make sense to us humans.
And technically, if God chose certain people, the people that were not chosen didnt have a choice.
Very very minor point but David used a sling not a sling shot they are not the same. The first you put a stone or a specifically carved "bullet" (not a modern explosion projectile) and you spin it around to produce greater force than just throwing a rock. Takes skill and practice to hit your target. A sling shot is a pouch stretched between two prongs pulled back and let lose to fire the stone, less powerful but easier to use than a sling...in my city giving a sling shot to a child is now a criminal offense.
And BTW a spiked ball on a chain connected to a handle is a flail not a mace. No chain on mace. Sorry Peter peeve of mine people confusing weapons. Worst offenders are film makers.

HOGWASH. First John 2:2. And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD. John 3:16-18.
Romans 4:5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for righteousness. Faith apart from works. Faith is not a work. And the GIFT of God is eternal life. Romans 6;23. Not faith and not a reward for good behavior.
God in HIs sovereignty gave man a free will to either accept His free gift of eternal life or not.
John 3:18. First Timothy 2:4. It is Gods will that everyone believe the truth and be saved.
Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, (First Corinthians 15:1-4) for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to EVERYONE THAT BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Galatians 1:6-9 Though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED. As we said before, so say I again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received from us, LET HIM BE ACCURSED. The gospel. That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures. Colossians 2:13. He has forgiven us ALL trespasses. Romans 4:7-8. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. That He was raised on the third day, according to the scriptures.
If I offer you a million dollars, and you accept the free gift, then you have a million dollars. You did nothing for it, you just accepted the free gift. If I offer you a million dollars, but you do not accept the free gift, then it does you no good.
Jesus offers everyone in the world the free gift of eternal life. If we accept the free gift, we have eternal life. If we do not accept the free gift, then we are condemned to hell because we did not accept the free gift of eternal life. Romans 3:26-28. John 3:18. First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. John 1:12. John 6:47. God cannot lie. John 5:24. Hebrews 13:5. He will never leave us or forsake us.
Once you research Gnosticism you'll never look at folks like this with academic respect again.
I know what Gnosticism is, I have no idea how it relates to anything Steven Lawson teaches, though.
@@fakesummer3942 Election being Salvific. The plain written Gospel is insufficient for salvation as one needs a divine revelation which they cannot ask for...etc.
These aren't Christian concepts until injected by Augustine in the 5th century.
@@Richard_Rz If you're a believer, you're one of the elect, you don't have to wait for God to come down out of the clouds and personally declare you to be saved.
People love to overcomplicate it because they believe God is evil for being God, and they have to reduce him to a lesser being that isn't truly omniscient or all powerful to suit their emotional needs.
Just asking for Jesus to "come into your heart" doesn't automatically save anyone though, and acknowledging that God is truly all knowing and all powerful has got absolutely nothing to do with "Gnosticism" either.
