Merry Christmas!!! What a year 2018 has been, the best Christmas gift has been 8 months in the making, and that's all of YOU! Thank you for being such an amazing community, here's my gift for you. When we think of the standard Christmas carol, we usually think joyous and celebratory, but there's something about Carol of the Bells (originally Shchedryk, written by the Ukrainian composer Leontovych) that is just so magical, but still captures the Christmas spirit so well. My friend Patrik Pietschmann also released a video of his Carol of the Bells arrangement (also based on the Williams arr.) a few days ago, with FALLING SNOW FLAKES!! ua-cam.com/video/mb9A46gZ9iI/v-deo.html Check it out and the rest of his channel too :D
The song sounds like that because it uses the first four notes of the melody of he old Gregorian chant "Dies Irae" (day of wrath), which is constantly used in movies to portray death and something scary. You can find the dies Irae melody in Star Wars, The Lion King, The Shining... There is a cool Sideways video on it, I think.

This is definitely a number one Christmas song. It oddly reminds me of how as a kid, me and the rest of my family would drive around the neighborhood at night near Christmas time and we'd look at all the beautiful Christmas decorations while we blasted Carol of the bells.

Ayo, don’t mind me sliding into your replies but we kinda have a similar situation lol. I’m 15, and I kinda grew out of playing the piano when I was 12. I’m here watching this vid cuz I wanted to learn the song, since one day while I was lingering in the backrooms of the music room, someone played that on the grand piano and it was really cool to me. I never really got the name of the song until about 2 weeks ago, I heard it again at a carol service and a friend of mine told me. At any rate, don’t quit, cuz the piano is a really cool instrument :D ✨

The night was as cold as the trigger of his gun, he walked down the slums, a snowy hell. Ice was cracking with his steps, everything was going straight to the end. Choosing to kill is always hard, but now, there's really no other way. They brought this to themselves. Who could imagine that two young thieves will slaughter his wife? He stood in the broken door frame, and looked forward. The little one was bleeding, the second was freezing, what a pitiful ending. But he was the one to finish it, even if he were to pay for it with prison. Two shots were heard this cold night, instead of bells.

Practice makes it easy :D
@@chaseikpa5077 Uhh... U sure? As a person who studied 7 years of piano this seems almost impossible for me, the left hands caves are too fast
@@pianodna-james3147 Ooof, pardon me then, i guess i was speaking from personal experience because i've only been playing piano for 2 and a half year and this song is seemingly easy for me, i came here cause my friend who's just startin out played a simpler version and told me to play the same song so i came to youtue to find it and found ross's version and it didnt look difficult, so i spent about 2hrs+ this morning learning up to 1:10 of the video, around the time i commented here, i stopped there because my keyboard at home doesn't have enough octaves to play the whole thing, i plan to post it on IG so 1minute is fine anyways haha.. don't mind me, i'm just a nub here xd
Idk if my experience allows me to advice you who's been playing longer but XD learn each hand first and practice them on their own then together, pay attention to the rythms on both hands, if u can play it slow u can play it fast, overused but accurate xd don't get mad at me Lmao XD
Hark how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say
Throw cares away
Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer
Too young and old
Meek and the bold
Ding dong ding ding
That is there song
With joyful ring
All caroling
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From everywhere
Filling the hair
Oh how they pound
Raising the sound
O'er hill and Dale
Telling their tale
Gaily they ring while people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here
Merry merry merry merry Christmas
Merry merry merry merry Christmas
On on they send
On without end
Their joyful tone
to every home

Nobody brings back to the past like music. In this music there is something elusive, something distant and dear. It touches to the depths of the soul, attracts like a magnet, fragments of memories. But we are grateful to the sky and the stars that it can sound like that. ...

That's amazing! You really have a talent. I'm a piano player myself and i never heard someone playing like this before! I'm 12 and this really inspired me to continue playing the piano. (I wanted to quit playing) Never give up!❤
Ayo, don’t mind me sliding into your replies but we kinda have a similar situation lol.

Then my favorite season:
very much excited 😄
The night was as cold as the trigger of his gun, he walked down the slums, a snowy hell. Ice was cracking with his steps, everything was going straight to the end. Choosing to kill is always hard, but now, there's really no other way. They brought this to themselves. Who could imagine that two young thieves will slaughter his wife? He stood in the broken door frame, and looked forward. The little one was bleeding, the second was freezing, what a pitiful ending. But he was the one to finish it, even if he were to pay for it with prison. Two shots were heard this cold night, instead of bells.
That's really a nice text! :D

Exactly what comes to my mind with this music
