    Thank you for reminding me. Incredible journey, 19 days, Edale to Kirk Yetholm. I enjoyed and marveled at every step.

    There are lots of little train stations in the countryside. It really depends on where you live in the countryside. I live near Sheffield and the Peak District is nearby with train stations in Hope and Hathersage etc.
    Again, starting to hike really depends on where you live in the country. I live out in Derbyshire and so was surrounded by countryside to go walking in. From then I learned to read maps and would go further afield and begin to plan trips

    Correction Daniel. The water that disappears at water sinks re-appears not at Malham cove ut at Aire head springs. The Malham cove water comes from near the ruins of an old smelt mill 1 1/2 miles away.

    Sometimes I'll do a circular walk, but on this occasion I had someone drop me off. I parked my car at the end and then they drove me to where I started off from

    thanks for the response daniel! is there any other way if you or your friends don't drive? also can you recommend a good beginners place to hike?

    hi daniel, how do get to places so secluded in the first place? does a friend drop you off? or do you get a taxi to the middle of no where? , i really want to hike!
