I found out about WoW from my bosses teenage son around 2006. What he described sounded alot like AD&D that I played as a teen/ young adult in the 1970s/80s. Fast forward to Christmas 2007. My 20yr old stepbrother got me Diablo2 as a gift. Inside was a demo disc for vanilla/BC. Long story short, I played D2 for about an hour. Loaded WoW and played all night. Went to game store and got BC battle chest and more memory. I will be 60 this year and am still playing 20+ hours a week. It's still fun and gives me an escape from the stresses of job and real life. My wife loves the fact that I'm home safe and not playing pool and darts in the bars. Win win.
Hell yeah man.
What a legend
The only thing I got from that is your brother is 23 years younger than you.
Ur a legend for this
X Mas 2007 is when I also started WoW. Work buddies got me to try the lvl Free Trial & I was hooked instantly until 2012 when I quit
The most research I ever did in all of my childhood was during summer vacation working toward my class Epic in Everquest. Multiple binders, hundreds of pages printed.
MadSeason's Pandora's box videos are all top-notch Xaryu. You should check out the others as well.
seen pandoras box probably 30 times, literally. seen a few different streamers react to it too. and the intro still gives me chills every single time.
I remember the public beta. People in chat all knew we were playing something special. It was so far ahead of other games at the time that it was striking. There was no doubt what it was going to be, once you played it for the first time
What insane parents bought their kids a laptop when they were 10ish? Mine. I remember the insane queues, I remember being amazed at the world. I remember IF being an insanely Laggy city. WOW is where I learned about Frames. I remember getting 7 frames, and thinking this is amazing. I remember my first sword, I remember not wanting to sell it, and keeping it in my bank. I remember my first Blue. It was a polearm. I grinded mobs till I could train polearms for the Hunter. I never raided, I just had fun goofing around in the world killing mobs.
I listen to these while i workout. Thank you
Yes! Loved the vid from MadSeason, glad that Xaryu finally caught up to it.
i was playing runescape in grade 7 and my best friend said man you HAVE to get wow, its like nothing youve ever seen. and apparently something well never see again, vanilla wow
one of the best videos ever made on the internet
A friend had been bugging me to get wow but i wasn't interested. While visiting him he showed me the game and i was intrigued. When i got home i was dragging my feet about it still. He eventually got to talking to the lady i was dating at the time and she bought it for me. Burning crusades dropped and she bought that as well. Ive never looked back 😂 Remember the Sunwell.
My fondest and best memories playing MMORPG was EverQuest for sure, when they released a 3 faction PVP server, Sullen Zek. it was so fun in 2002. wish it kept on going.
I really wanna know how Madseason edits the ole VCR stuff with the static. He's an impressive editer
Been doing it for so long atp
Him flashing grand Marshal was priceless 😂
Phantasy Star Online for Dreamcast was so underrated ....best mmorpg experience, graphic were amazing
I wish TBC lasted longer. My guild barely got to Sunwell by the time Wrath was out. I heard it was one of the hardest raids of all time.
My guild regularly cleared BT but fell apart right as Sunwell was coming out. Would've loved the chance but it ended up being the push for me to step away from the game back then... KilJaden in Mt Hyjal I remember being the toughest for my guild back then
We cleared Sunwell, we are by no means a hardcore guild. Was a challenge, good challenge. I think it lasted a good time, i even had time to level a druid (Got a request if i wanted to play druid for wotlk because we didnt need more than 1 priest) and got him geared in ZA/sunwell.
I’ve always wondering if there is some kind of hypnotic music hidden in wow to keep you playing I just can’t stop !!! lol
20:03
As far as I know - the situation was real. They just thought it was so funny that they went back, and re-enacted it on video. That's why it kinda sorta may appear as fake.
playing wrath right now and im excited for cata classic loved this game since i was 8 years old started in tbc on retail
Spent most of my time at Technicon in the computer labs designing and writing MUDS instead of studying :)
initially in the year 2000 it was Everquest that got me hooked on mmorpgs. Then when WoW came out I moved over to that game and never went back to EQ. And yeah I quit at least one job so I could play EQ and WoW more.
Back in the day when you had to go to the Best Buy and buy the discs.
The worlds best content creators of warcraft are long gone these are sad times, sad times indeed.
The intro of this video is amazing.... the feels....=´)
How do you know that they weren’t honoring the stroke lady by camping her one last time like they used to?
My friends were with me in college great pcs, fiber Internet through the university everyone else seemed bad but we probably a ton of advantages
You guys were like neo in the matrix compared to people with dial up 🤣
Xaryu with the Vegeta hair line 🤣
the sad part was that, blizz could have made much more with classic, before any expansions, wich u obviously can see how that affected the last classic raid Naxxramas, that in comparison to other raids had way less uptime, before the TBC came out, and when that came out Naxx went dead.
Crazy it took blizzard 10 years to rework classic(SoD) like OSRS did.
your take on seeing other achieve something that you at the time did not, making you feel MOTIVATED is intrinsic motivation (even though it doesn't sound that way). Most people have extremely low self-esteem and seeing that makes them feel less than and hopeless. Sadly it's just how it is, which is why over time content has been dumbed down (outside of mythic raiding in retail which is fucking insane, also pushing high M+ keys but nobody wants to talk about that)
Man up and do a full react, don't be a 🦑
Still waiting on P2
No Nexon's Dark Ages!?!?!? :(
Madseason is posting all the same clips just under a differenty video title and in different order, and Xaryu is eating it up.
I was thinking the same thing. The movement in every other game is so wrong and clunky. Wow is so smooth when it comes to movement and character does what u want it to do when pressing buttons.
38:25 people will complain if they don't get to play all content and they complain when they have played all content. There really is no winning in terms of not having people complain.
May I present; The Alliance 24:05
45:00 but then it is no longer an rpg
it just isn't
It’s time for world of Warcraft 2 but knowing blizzard they’ll ruin it and monetize tf outta it
Man I wish I didnt play obscure free asian mmo's in the time of vanila wow
Wow was the pioneer for this shiiiiz. Guildwars tried but failed. Nothing like wow. I’m 30 now and still can’t shy away from it every now and then even after years of breaks
Whoever wrote retail are cartoony, got no damn clue what hes talking about. The game has gotten the best graphic update it can get, goated as it can be. Also what people dont remember back in the day, you used to get 1 day free game time if the servers were off for more than a day or so. I can still see the history on my account. Had so many free +1 day of games times :D But the fact people wanted to sue them, wtf?
Yo, Xaryu actually followed the Starcraft 2 scene back in the day? I left WoW to go play Starcraft 2. Then I came back, lol...
As far as PVE goes, (disregarding boosts/sales) there's still an insane skill gap between the top and even above average players. I'm doing 24s in time and struggling, or at least trying super hard and pushing myself. Whereas keys that I haven't even completed are being done in under 10 minutes. And 32s are being timed. Or no normal person can even hope to compete in the race to world first due to time commitment and skill. Even the gap between the world 5th guild is miles behind the world 1st guild. And the average player is honestly pretty bad in this game.
Pay 2 Win sucks but it may encourage some players to get a job.
The video was staged but it was an reenactment, exaggerated ofc.
It appeers to me that you have an impersonator in toe… god forbid [it] might utilise its ‘talents’ in a useful attempt to aid the old or very young within society… ‘the quest that keeps on giving’… me thinks…
Yeah man modern retail wow is so bloated. They make it simple but it’s more daunting to me than anything in vanilla. I mean I logged on when hardcore released for the first time in like 10 years and the game was not the wow I played. It’s two different games at this point. I’m coming back tonight for solo self found. Going to give it one more shot to get to 60. Maybe 2 more tries ;)
wow was a big deal in general
so far has it fallen
Today I learned Leroy was staged 😢
whole
you can really tell when a creator is on their last legs. REACTS.
People looked at that video(jenkins) and understood what tf was going on. If you're tryna push wow m+ to the next generation with a funny skit, they're flooded with addons and a ui only a wow scientist could understand. The current state of wow only holster people that's already know what everything means, I get why people get discouraged watching pro-wow content.
Why does this doods thumbnails,…. Like 90% show him with his mouth open?
38:48 This is is exactly why Diablo 4 is trash. They made it so that any idiot can play it and it makes for a really bland, generic game with zero soul. But then again that's their model now, get as many people as possible playing a game so they can milk them out through battlepasses and cash shops
its been done , stop milking a dead cow
Same as your mom but we always cum back
I was a noob back then. I started playing 2 weeks before TBC dropped. Idk if I was lucky or what. Played with a friend, got in his guild,we cleared some stuff, and then it disbanded during SSC at the start. Then people from our guild merged with another. We went on to clear SSC,TK,and BT so it was a plus and I enjoyed it. Then went through Wrath and cleared ICC. We didn't do all the heroics, but we did some. This go around since playing classic xpacs i've done all the heroics except 2. H RS and H LK are the only ones left. So close on both but some dumb shit always happens with someone and it's annoying.
Why can't any modern MMO, or even videogame for that matter, implement reactionary weapon skills usable after block/parry/dodge like in DAoC? That was one of the best aspects of the game.
never heard of overpower?
