The reporter has a way with words. The barrel didn't "wash up" it has been sitting in the same place for 40 years, the water level dropped enough to expose the barrel. Then she says the sister want's "concrete answers" which is a nice pun to being involved with the MOB as these barrels were likely sunk with concrete. That being said, there is no question a body in a barrel is a murder. Nobody can seal themselves in a barrel then toss themselves in the water to commit suicide drown by accident.

I grew up in Las Vegas and there has always been speculation that there are several decades of bodies in Lake Mead. With the lake receding, the person was the first and there are going to be many more. That being said, my heart goes out to this lady and I hope she find out for sure what happened to her brother.

It's things like this that make me really question anything the news media has to say as they will report details that completely obscure what happened. The barrel did NOT "wash up on shore." How does the reporter not know that the water level of Lake Mead has been receding due to the extreme drought conditions over the last 20 years? The water receded revealing the barrel that had been laying on the lake bed under the water for quite some time. Washing up on shore implies that it was floating and well, washed up on shore. But that is not what happened. Now take this as an example of even more imperative information that gets parroted by the news media and they can easily insert a narrative that never happened on even major events because a great deal many of the public take the news media as the gospel.

@@assog5737 LMFAO 😂🤣 No, not really though. A concept is only a thought. You can't be a mere thought. For what are you then when there are no thoughts? What are you in the gap between two thoughts where there is no thought?
Don't you see, you are not anything you think you are? You are not the thoughts. Even when there are no thoughts, you still are. Concepts really have nothing to do with you.
Concepts are only thoughts. The thoughts don't know anything. Thoughts are only ever known, but they are never knowers. You're the knower that knows of the thoughts and the thoughts are only known like apparent objects. Is that not in fact exactly how you directly experience all thoughts? Thoughts are only KNOWN but the thoughts themselves are not knowers.
Even the so-called "thinker" is just a thought. You can't be the thinker as you are prior to the thoughts, unstained and unaffected by the thoughts. That which THINKS "I am the thinker of my thoughts" IS a thought. That is not you, that is the mind, you are that which is consciously aware of the mind. When I say "you" I don't mean anything you think is yourself, that is NOT you. You are not the thinker. You are not what the thinker says you are. The thinker is talking about the mind, it is the mind thinking about itself, this is called the ego but you are not the ego, you don't have ego, the ego is just an illusion of the mind's own making. The mind is not conscious of you. The ego is not a possessor of consciousness. It claims it is but it doesn't know what it is thinking. You are the knowing that is conscious of the thoughts. Know the difference between your Self and the mind. Don't confuse your Self with the mind. The mind does not know who you are. The mind doesn't know that it is only an illusion, that appears and disappears, but you don't appear with it and you certainly don't disappear with it. The mind appears and disappears in you, you as in what is conscious of all this. You are not the word "consciousness" as that only is a pointer that reflects something is aware of all of this. All that seems to appear in form including "names" given to the forms which isn't a name a form that you see appearing? It all appears in what doesn't appear or disappear because it Self doesn't have a name or form and cannot be limited to names and forms. All that appears in the mind but the Self is beyond the mind.
The mind is full of self-ignorance but there is no ignorance in the Self. The mind falsely claims to be the self, a false separate self that doesn't actually exist. The mind doesn't know that it doesn't exist. It THINKS it does and that is all the mind is, a bundle of thoughts. When there are no thoughts there is no mind. Mind and thoughts are one in the same thing, an illusory appearance, no different than a mirage of water, no different that a dream.
The mind doesn't know that it only THINKS it knows and therefore cannot know because it is only known. Thinking is not knowing. Knowing doesn't require thinking. Knowledge that depends on thinking is false knowledge, it is ignorance.
Watch the mind, it will either lie and claim that it understands this or claim it doesn't understand this, but the neither understands nor misunderstands anything. Understanding is only a thought. There isn't really a need to understand anything. Seeking to understand is just a game the mind plays. That game is played within this consciousness but it doesn't affect or fool this consciousness. The mind only fools itself. It is not possible to fool the Self because the Self is the only reality and there is no other reality. The mind is an unreality that appears within the reality that you are.
Ultimately you are ineffable so even calling the Self a reality is not exactly true. You cannot use the mind to know your Self as the Self is not an object to be known. You know your Self by being your Self, that is all there is to knowing the Self, being the Self. Not being this and being that, just being. Drop all thoughts, let go of all concepts, ignore the mind entirely and you are in your original Absolute state without name and form. The eternal Life is you. You don't have a life. Life is not an object. Life has objects but life itself is not an object. Life is nothing appearing as everything but everything that appears to be a "thing" is not really what it appears to be. Everything in reality is no thing.
Self doesn't need to understand this as the Self is Self-knowing, Self-luminous. This message is not for the Self but for the babbling ignorant mind that creates all its own problems, even creates an imaginary world(people) of seperate egos (people), seperate places and separate things. That world is only imagined and does not exist. The "world" is just an appearance and there is nothing that is not actually the Self but the Self is not a separate thing, there is no separation in reality because reality is not two. There is only the Self, this is the only reality. The mind doesn't know reality being that the mind is an unreality it only thinks about unrealities. Reality cannot be known with the mind. You can only distort the reality with using the mind.
But never mind the mind because it doesn't even know that it is ignorant and tells lies. The mind is unconscious and inert, only this Consciousness is conscious. Consciousness is not trapped in a body. The body is trapped in Consciousness. What the mind calls "space" is not empty. It is full of consciousness. What the mind calls "space" is not the word, but is formless consciousness. The body appears in you, you as in Consciousness. You are not the person the mind claims that you are. The mind does not know who you are. The mind doesn't know it isn't really a mind. That is the illusion, an illusion is an appearance that seems to exist but isn't what it seems. The entire universe is an illusion, it appears as an image and is constantly changing its image until it disappears, but this Conscious-Awareness does not disappear. Conscious-Awareness is ever-present, eternal, not mortal but immortal.
Why let the mind play these mortal games with you? Why sufffer with the illusory ego? Why take yourself to be the image of the body that appears to be born and will die and disappear? Why not just be who you really are, the unborn eternal life that everything in existence owes its very apparent existene to that which is its source?
The whole truth is summed with: "Be still and know that I am God."
These words are appearing within this Consciousness. You are that which is conscious of these words but are not these words. You are beyond these words. These words are appearances appearing within you but you have no appearance, you don't need an appearance to exist, you don't need to exist yet you do not not exist. Even the knowing that some thing no longer exists suggests you are there to know it but the Self is unknowable the All-knowing omnipresence to which all is known. The words are not what they seem, they can only reflect that which cannot be limited to words/thoughts. When you stop playing these games with the mind that the mind likes to play then there is only unconditional love, unbroken bliss, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Isn't that what the mind is looking for in all its thoughts, it is looking for peace because by its very nature the mind is restless and does not know peace. When there are no thoughts you experience a peace that cannot be put into words, if you try to think about it you will only spoil it. Just be your Self without thinking, and rest in that eternal peace. You need not worry about anything ever again. Not that you ever did worry, as that was the illusion of the mind that was worrying but the worrying is only in the thoughts and thus it does not have a reality
The finite mind cannot understand the infinite. It is the infinite that knows the finite mind and is not fooled by the games the mind plays. Infinite literally means "not finite." And "you" are That!

It doesn’t surprise me that this happened near Vegas. Back in the 70s the mob was alive and well. If you went to a show in Vegas you were expected to hand the person money seating you. The more money you gave them the better the seat! Everyone did this to see the shows. At least this poor lady will have closure.
