    Why do all hiking trails have a devil inspired name. That yellow raincoat really pops in the video. Great choice. An easier hike like this is something our family can handle. You are right, does look like Rambo. The punchbowl is so pretty. Thanks for taking us around.

      Something cool about an intimidating name I guess 😂 Yeah that's why I bought it I wanted it to stand out like a sore thumb 👍 🤣 I guess it works!

    Beautiful! I'm glad you found some alone time at the punch bowl. My husband and I cycled there on a warm summer weekend day, and there was quite a crowd. Still so worth it. Even though it was warmer I still didn't jump in though haha - that lake is cold!

    Love that place. I rented a kayak from Log Cabin Resort couple years ago, and kayaked to Devil's Punchbowl and just floated there and relaxed for a bit. The lake is so beautiful and clear when kayaking.

    I have a question for you both! Since you both have been to the Olympic Peninsula and Asheville, NC, which area do you think is more beautiful and more awe inspiring? I've been to the Olympic Peninsula, but not to Asheville.

    • @NickandRachel
      @NickandRachel  Рік тому

      That's a hard question to answer but a good one!
      So the Great Smoky Mountains National Park isn't too far from Asheville and it's a temperate rainforest. So imagine all the greenery in Washington it looks like that but on a miniature level.
      The great thing about the Southeast and the Appalachian Mountains is when October comes you have some of the most beautiful leaf changes in the world people travel from all over to see it. That to me is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen when you get there and peak season.
      But so far my favorite place to hike has been in Washington around the Olympic Peninsula just be called it so much different than home.
      To answer your question though both are beautiful in their own way! And if you haven't been to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or anywhere in North Carolina you should definitely check it out around October it's gorgeous! North Carolina also was home to amazing waterfalls!

      @@NickandRachel Thanks sooooo much for taking the time to answer. : )
      When I was in high school I would vacation each year at Topsail Island, but I never saw the Smoky Mountains. I have a job interview this week for a place in Asheville and if things go well, I might take a trip and visit. I love the idea of living so close to a temperate rainforest and the changing seasons. One way or another, I'll be taking a dive and moving somewhere else!
      I support your travels and soaking up what our lovely planet has to offer! Have a great weekend!

    • @NickandRachel
      @NickandRachel  Рік тому +1

      You're welcome Thanks for the question We appreciate it!
      Good luck on the job interview you'll never run out of things to do in North Carolina That's for sure!
      You got a lot of the Appalachian Trail that runs through there and also the mountain to see trail which is about 1200 mi long. And it's great Smoky Mountains which has 900 miles of trails and the Pisgah National Forest which is about a million acres! you'll be entertained lol
