DIY Washer Dryer Surround in our Rental Kitchen

- This DIY washer dryer surround countertop was a pretty simple project that has had HUGE impact on the look, feel, and function of our space!
We are renting this tiny (1000 sq ft) house in Richmond, Virginia, and it had washer dryer hook ups floating in the small kitchen. We decided to add a surround countertop to add a lot of counter space to the kitchen, hide the washer and dryer, and generally make the whole room feel more intentional.
We followed a tutorial created by Mandi at Vintage Revivals, and adjusted it to suit our needs.
I am not a professional carpenter, contractor, or wood worker, but this countertop is both functional and pretty. We have loved the way it works in our house, and hope you're inspired to dig into where you live to make it work better for you and your family!

I love this, this is exactly what I was looking for to a “T”. It’s still gonna be a few weeks but I’m definitely going to do this. Thanks for using that tutorial and giving all the little tips. I greatly appreciate.

over time the ply will bow if you put weight on it, a centre support between the washer / dryer will help with that, also the brackets idea on side woudl be better, when you move it will still some apart after you remove the washer and dryer
